Im a mom of 4 kids. 1 had autism. Kedan was only 4 years old and he had no fears. We were denied his life insurance because of his autism. He slipped out of the house 1 month ago and drowned in a pond. My husband gave Kedan CPR but it was too late. He met Jesus on that day. It's very hard to move on with this huge bill over our heads which wasnt our fault.We still have 3 other children to take care of now all on one income. it's very hard to do. We are trying to generate funds for a headstone if funeral expenses for Kedan.

Imagine your whole world being turned upside down. That was what happened to Ben and Becky Powell on February 6, 2007 when they took their happy, healthy 2 month old baby boy for his checkup. They received the most devastating news a parent can imagine; their son, Ethan, has leukemia. Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (infant ALL) to be exact. Ethan was only given a 15% chance to survive and, for the past four months has been fighting for his life at St Jude Children's Hospital in Memphis, TN.

When Ethan was born, his parents set up a website, [ link ] to share baby pictures with family and friends. Sadly, this site now serves a completely different purpose, updating the world daily on Ethan's struggle with leukemia. People from across the world have become Ethan's "Prayer Warriors". The chat room on Ethan's website is full of people praising God and lifting up the Powells, along with many others who are in need, to God in prayer. There have been "prayer warriors" from over 20 countries.

Ethan's family and thousands of Prayer Warriors recently celebrated Miracle Monday! It was the date of Ethan's most recent bone marrow aspiration. If his bone marrow contained more than 5% leukemia blasts the doctors planned to send Ethan home to peacefully live out the rest of his days. Two weeks prior to Miracle Monday, more than half his bone marrow was made up of leukemia blasts. However, God answered our prayers and completely eliminated his blast count to zero percent.

Ethan is now scheduled to be the 8th child in the world to undergo a risky, experimental stem cell transplant. After the transplant, the family will go into isolation for 110 days.

Whenever someone asks how they can help the family Ethan's parents have only responded with "prayer"! However, Ben & Becky are in desperate need of a new laptop for several reasons. Ben Powell is blessed to be able to financially support his family while at St Jude. He is currently a Web Designer for LSU Medical Center in Shreveport, LA. The family also would be able to continue to update and add more features to Ethan's site which is a source of information on Ethan's progress to the extended family that can not be there while they are in isolation. The laptop will essentially be the only link to the outside world during this time. Because of these reasons they need a MacBook Pro: 2.4 GHz. This is the only Mac laptop with the capability of opening up both Mac and PC formatted files, does video, audio, and will run their graphics suite.

My 3 year old lil boy Zaylan had a very freak and tragic accident 5/21/07. His dad was cutting grass. Zaylan slipped on a rock causing him to fall and his hand went under the riding mower. He lost his thumb and 3 of his other fingers leaving only his index finger.

I totally freaked as did Jessie. I was screaming so loud but it seemed like no one could hear me. Finally our friends across the street came running. They called 911 but it was like it took them forever to get here. As we franticly waited on the ambulance, Jessie laid with him on the porch and was holding pressure on his hand and his knee.

The neighbors and I combed the back yard to see if we could find my poor lil baby's fingers. My dad found the first one and he totally went crazy. A few seconds later a neighbor found another. We were told by the EMD on the phone not to put his fingers on ice.

As they put Zaylan in the ambulance they started the IV with morphine. They had him in there for what seemed like forever trying to assess things and clean up the injuries as much as they could. We were then told they were taking him to a landing zone at Bessemer City High School and from there he would be airlifted to Carolinas Medical Center. We weren't allowed to ride in the helicopter with our son, which really made things harder for us because you could hear him asking for his mommy and daddy. I'm sure what happened may have put him into a state of shock but he was a fighter and I am so proud of my baby boy.

After hours of surgery they were unable to reattach the other fingers. They had to do a skin graft to cover where the thumb was.

We are trying to raise the money for him to get a prosthetic hand & help with medical costs . Hopefully you all can help us make our wish come true. We were told by Shriners that they couldn't help until his Dr's have done everything they can.

I want to go to the gyn to make sure my cencerious cells are still gone, And have not came back! Im not saying i have cancer, I am saying, I want to make sure it has'nt came back. My husband makes too much money for the charity hospitals and others to help out here. They ask for proof of income here. I wish we had the programs like in other states here. You can only have medicaid if you are 18 and under and if you are disabled. When he gets his check we still have to borrow from the payday loans to get to the next check every 2 weeks.
11 yrs a go i was diagnosed with cervical cancer (cancerious cells) stage 3 cancerious cells. I had it froze off. The dr said it was gone after my son was born when he froze it off back then. If the freezeing did not work then he would have to lazer it. Since he took care of it with the freezeing we did not have to do the lazer.
I have'nt been back ,i never have the money. I have every symptom of it.
I got scared to death when i got and email with warning the sighns and symptoms. Maybe i was careless to hope it didnt come back through the years, I have had depression, anxiety, pannick attacks angoraphobia, which stopped me from being as independent as i would have liked to be.
Because i had every symptom their was. I'm kida scared to go i havent been in 11 yrs for a check up, and i do not have insurance. I did have insurance for 3 to 4 months they took out my husbands check but we had to cancel. I wanted to have insurance for atleast 6 months before i went to the dr so they didnt holler pre-existing condition. but like i said i had to cancel before i was able to go to the gyn like i had planned. I dont qualify for the charites my husband makes too much. but after bills and grocerys their is nougthing left, I always run out of grocerys before his next check comes. My husband gets paid every 2 weeks. We have 4 kids 15 and under. It may come out negative i hope, but it will put my mind at ease. I honestly have no where else to go for help. Yes this is my 4th try I am really in need.If I have to park my car I have no way around to work and I have no one to carpool with I have already tried only to count on someone who missed work. My brakes are not doing well and rotors I am told need replaced also and I have two tires that are shot. I need help with my car. It really needs tires, brakes and rotors. Even if I could just get tires would help. I know you have seen this wish before but thought I would put it back up. I have no way to get any extra money right now to pay for these repairs. I have no family to help out to take me places like work, grocery store. I want me and the kids to be safe when we go down the road to school and work. Right now I have had some illness and was not making full pay. I dont have any one to ask for help and well tried everything on my own and it has not worked. My church will put the brakes and rotors on the car I was told but wont pay for the parts. They dont have the funding. This alone will help. But I need the parts. Sorry if a repeated wish annoys you. I am posting this wish on behalf of canadadaian. Having wished seven times for funds to benefit their mother, I am hoping we might be able to help.
Canadadaian's widowed mother is in need of a Hearing dog - meaning, a dog that is trained to help people with hearing disabilities.
Having been lucky enough to have perfect hearing myself, I realize how much I take it for granted. I never miss my wake-up call, and I'm always thrilled to hear my neices and nephews say "I WUV YOO!" Always on the run, you know that my microwave is important to me, as well as the man over the speaker saying "Can I take your order?"...So many simple things that Canadadian's mother is now left without. Let's make a difference in her life! She is not able to wear hearing devices due to chronic ear infections, though - so this may be her only hope for a more normal lifestyle.

I placed this wish in the naughty category, because technically she CAN go on living without the benefit of a hearing dog, but I'd like to think that she shouldn't have to.

I am placing this wish again & I hope you all won't mind:) Macy is 8 yr old & has Mitochondrial Disorder Complex I + Hereditary editary Spasticity Syndrome. The 1st is the worst, it is terminal. She has spent much of her life in & out of hospitals, & is now severely crippled. I have focused my life now, on finding a cure or treatment to save her. When the doctor told me it was terminal, & there was nothing they could do, my life was over, or so I felt.

Statistically, it's grim. Most children with this disorder, don't make it to their teens. But it's also rare & unknown, so I believe there is a cure, it's just not been discovered yet. Mito I is a rapidly progressive, degenerative disorder, which there is no known cure or treatment. There are 2 ways that Mito I causes fatalities. First, The body does not produce the energy needed, to function the body. It affects the major organs (muscles, heart, lungs, brain etc.). Eventually, the major organs begin failing, & the body shuts down. I don't want to leave it at that, so I want to say that this prognosis is based on most complex I cases. I have hope that with it being so unknown, there is the chance that all cases do not end in death. This is the one way affecting Macy right now. It is why her muscles draws & she is crippled up so badly. The other fatal factor to this disorder, is that the body does not metabolize food correctly, causing Lactate Acidosis. The food that is not metabolized properly, builds up as toxins in her body, & acts like a slow poison.

Macy has been accepted for make a wish. She wants to go to Disney with a friend, however make a wish can't cover a friend, because Macy has a sibling, a 16 yr old brother. MAW FAQs-they may take a friend, if they have no sibling for companionship. Believe me, with the age gap & gender, my son is not a very good companion to a little girl. I don't think he would look to good as a princess anyway LOL We have to cover her plane, parks & other expenses. The friend's mom is very ill & can't pay her way. She loved her boys it was hard to get her to let them go to the skating rink. We would always tell her Debbie you need to let them boy's go and have fun. On a good day Debbie is there kinda mentally. She goes through days where she calls me and ask me Jo Jo if you hear from my boys tell them to call Me. Their is no "boy's" only my 1 brother left.
She tries to converse with me like Keith is still here.I dont know what to say so I dont say anything.... She talks as if he is still here. I wish he was but theirs nothing I can do.

My little boy's wish, is so special. He is four years old! He really wants to go to preschool. , I can't depend on that happening.

In May, I found a church preschool I liked. They charge $100 a month. He will go 4 days a week, for four hours a day.

When I signed him up, I thought we would be able to afford this cost.

But recently we have been struck will illnesses and my clutsy childrens E.R. visits.

These expences are way to heavy now.. I am asking for help with his tuition.

He REALLY wants to go to school, and has been so excited. I feel preschool is an important part of preparing children for the world. My oldest went to preschool when she was four, and this was a very big help for her. I am hoping someone will help us to give my son this same opportunity. (more)

My mom's shoulder still hasnt been fixed so we're still saving for surgery and checking into every place we can to get help. We've been to state agencies and any other place that we can think of to help....she seems to just fall through the cracks everywhere. She is in pain all the time and it's so hard to see her hurt so badly and not know what I can do. Her shoulder is just getting worse all the time and somehow we have to get this money to get her surgery done. The doctors want the majority of the money up front and the hospital said they have to a huge portion of it up front. I thought people were more compassionate than they are.....most just think of the money. I know this isnt life threatening but still she is in so much pain and she shouldnt have to be. And it's an awful thing for a person to have to be in pain for so long and not be able to have anything done about it. She has always done for everyone else before herself and now I cant help her and I love her so very much. She has been a foster parent for 15 years and still has 4 kids at home that she has adopted. She continues to do all that she can for her kids no matter how much pain she is in. I'm hoping and praying that we can get the money together soon so she can have the surgery and go on with her life. I realize I ask for alot of money and we wont get that but I also know that any amount we get will help to bring us closer to her surgery. Funds for family to be with 2.5 yr old during his surgery

Our son Benjamin is having his third open heart surgery in 2 1/2 yrs.
The surgery is scheduled for June 8th. He has a condition called
Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome and is undergoing a series of 3
surgeries in hopes that he will be able to live with his own heart and
not need a transplant. I am making this wish so that my husband and I
and our other two children can stay down in Philadelphia with Ben
during his surgery and recovery. The whole ordeal is estimated at 2
weeks from surgery, as long as there are no complications.

Specifically the money would be used towards the following: lodging,
food, parking @ $3 a day at the children's hospital and also up to $20
a day at a hotel. In addition to staying down in Philadelphia we
would also need to take care of bills at home and the possible
kennelling of our pets. Things have been tight monetarily since Ben
was been born but we wouldn't trade him for the world.....he has
brought such joy to our lives.

I usually don't do this kind of thing, but my friends have told me
that there is no reason that I shouldn't at least try. Hopefully you
will all find it in your hearts to vote for us.

This is my 5th Try... So here it goes again..Im putting this as naughty.. because it's not something that we cannot live without to .. it something that would mean a great deal to my husband to get for his mom!
Etta Mae Torrence, was not your typical mom. She was diagnosed with Manic Depression early in her life and struggled with it for years. She has 2 sons, Carl and Jesse. Carl is my husband. He is a hard working man, that asks for nothing but gives everything. In 1994 his mother Etta committed suicide at an Olathe Kansas Hotel. After taking a large amount of prescription medication on top of alcohol the life that she found worth nothing, but meant so much to everyone else was cut short. She was a great lady, who struggled every day of her life to fight depression while taking care of her children as a single mother. After being told by doctors at KU Medical Center that she would need to be institutionalized because of her problems, she decided that life was not longer worth living. My husband was 17 at the time. She was rushed to Olathe Regional Medical center where on Mother's Day 1994 she died while my husband was holding her hand. I know to some of you this is not as important as other wishes, and I tend to agree with you. But if you could take a look at the picture of her "headstone" that she has now you will understand why this is important to me. I love my husband dearly, and to see a grown 32 year old mans' face everytime we go to the cemetary tears my heart in half. Like I said he doesn't ask for anything.. Nothing at all actually. He does not I am wishing for this, I just want him to be able to go to his mom's grave and remember all of the good times he had with his mom instead of beating himself up about how he cannot afford a real headstone. I have been invited to go with my niece to Myrtle Beach but I do not have the funds to go. My husband is on disability and so we are on a very low income. I have worked up until three years ago so everything we get goes for bills, medicine and food. Since my husband and I have been married I spent 10years of the time taking care of him after he became disabled. I spent 12 1/2 years taking care of my Mother who moved in with us just 2 months after we were married, as she was not able to take care of herself. She passed away two years ago. In 2000, I was told I had Sarcoidosis. Thank Goodness, its in remission right now. I wish I could go on this vacation as I will probably not have an opportunity like this again. If I get to go there are people who are willing to look after my husband while I am gone. I am almost 63 and figure I won't get rich now.
