Owl, thank you for your question. I drink instant coffee so I only need something to heat my water up. I could use a drip coffee maker for this but they usually come with glass coffee pots. I can't stand up steadily and I only have one hand that functions properly. I frequently lose my balance, and drop things I am holding. Glassware has been out of the question for me for years. This is why I am seeking a plastic tea pot. If dropped it won't break or get dented, every time a metal pot dents at the top the covers don't fit right. Also metal pots get much hotter on the outside and if I lose balance or the ability to hold on to the pot I'll get burned.
