My son Tucker just has not been himself lately.
I miss my buddy, he has just been so quiet, blue and worried; that he has me scared. There is just so much going on at home and he takes everything into himself wanting to "cure" the world that it is affecting him a lot. The next few days this week; he will have a lot of visits with counselors, doctors and all to help with his feelings; but I think a night/day out to watch a movie and get away would do wonders for him. There is a cheap theater nearby with a couple of movies that he is interested in seeing and a McDonald's near also- I would like to be able to send him and his dad for a day/night out of fun,so he can go and forget about things for a bit and just have a chance to smile maybe. Can you find it in your heart to help a "gentle giant" find his lost smile? Thank you for reading and your vote ((huges)) Georgie (more)

gave you five but I've got an idea, there's free massage for one hour legit from schoolss such as high tech and everest, check your phone book and see if any are near your house, most schools are free, and it feels great to relax

Georgie, Here's my 5 for Tucker and You. Please listen to Rhonda (dreamyno1) and check out the sites so you will know what to look for in his behavior. Here is a link that might help: [ link ] It sounds to me as if Tucker has a great deal of anxiety and depression, which is very worriesome. I'm not sure if there is something going on at home that he would be so worried about...not blaming, but asking is there some type of financial or health issue with a family member that could be causing some of this? The moms have given you some really great advice about interests, friends, outings, support, etc. I can't emphasize enough (as Rhonda did, I went through this with her long distance, we're very close friends), DO NOT take no for an answer. If one person doesn't return your calls, call 2 more. Do not let them blow off his symptoms. Rhonda's daughter Shannon saw many doctors, ERs, specialists, etc., and none recognized her symptoms or addressed them. Don't worry about being pushy, bitchy, or sounding like an alarmist. This is your child, and you cannot let this go without intervention. If nothing else, Tucker's (and the rest of the family's) quality of life can be increased by following through with this, because he can learn positive ways to cope with his anxiety and depression. I definitely think increasing the family time could help, such as playing games, watching comedies, going for walks if possible, discussing things, feelings, etc. There are programs designed specifically for adolescents, because as we all know, those are some of the most difficult years.
