So far, 2008 has been a challenge, to put it mildly.
With the exception of working to get a non-profit organisation off the ground [ link ] , I have had little to be truly happy about. It's been one crisis after another.
Welcome to real life, right? ;-)
One thing that would really pick me up is to have lunch at my favourite restaurant. It's in a historic mill building, on the banks of a waterfall in Vermont. Being able to go there again would just fill my heart as well as my tummy. It would remind me of special times when life was not so much of a struggle, and that things *will* get better!
I would just pick up and go, but the price of gas is too prohibitive now. This restaurant is 90 miles away. But if the cost of lunch is covered, then I could just about swing it.
I've put this wish in the Greedy category, because it's not food, clothing, or shelter. Of course, I don't need this for physical survival. But my emotional health could use a bit of a kick-start.
Please help me to go "home" for a day. (more)

hope you get your wish ............good luck
leaving you five stars :) and I think this is a need.
Thank you for your kind observation. There are other kinds of sustenance besides food. Sometimes life just gets overwhelming and we need a "vitamin" to help us heal and refresh ourselves.
A daytrip to Vermont is my vitamin. Lasts for months. :-)
I gave you my 5...
Good luck..
I am so grateful for the love and support that all of you have shown to me.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Good luck! I hope you get a well deserved treat! Awesome job on the totes. I thought about you when the FLDS kids were in the news.
Thanks for your good wishes on the duffelbag project. It's going very well. Sometimes I wonder if maybe I've bitten off more than I can chew, but I guess that if I'm "meant" to do something like this, fulfillment of the need will manifest itself. Tryin' to keep the faith that God won't give me more than I can handle!
:-)
I pray for the FLDS kids. The adults involved are responsible for their own actions, but the children are innocent in all of this. Let's hope that this upheaval will not cause any lasting emotional trauma for them.
u get my 5
Holy CRAP that thing looks amazing!!!!
And congrats on getting the tote bag program off the ground!!! YAY!!!
Mike had written a while back about my experience with foster care when I was young, so I'm totally behind you on that. KUDOS to you for what you're doing!
Please know that I'm happy to help with any graphic design/art work you might need to have done - like if you want a logo or something to put on the bags? Just let me know!! Check out my website [ link ] for samples of my work and Mike's site [ link ] for samples of his amazing drawing skills. :)
Will be PMing you soon about the graphic design. Yes, yes, yes! Just a quick update - I had a meeting with Easter Seals yesterday that went very well. Local high school is organising a duffelbag drive, as is a martial arts academy. I think we'll make our goal of 149 bags.
And to think that we're at this point already. This all arose out of a conversation with my daughter, barely 10 weeks ago.
:-)
