Imagine being someone with lots of energy and love to offer - a great young guy- who has to spend the first 24 years of his
life in a room the size of your bathtub with limited opportunity to come out and virtually nothing for entertaiment. Add to that a diet consisting only of bread and water.
That is the analogy that closest illustrates the way Carol's new boyfriend has lived his life. No, he was not in prison, prisoners are treated more humanely than Louie has been. I was responsible for Carol and Louie meeting and was there to witness "love at first sight". Yes, it does exist! I saw it with my own experienced eyes. They have been together for a month now and are doing fantastic EXCEPT for the fact that Louie still has a problem that is preventing their total happiness.
Louie is a 24 year old Yellow Nape Amazon parrot. He has been through at least 3 prior owners and lived in some rotten conditions. One of the things that happened to him was being forced to live in a cage that was SO tiny he was unable to anything but turn around. Some of his feathers have become deformed or damaged from constant contact with the cage bars. He had nothing to eat but (quote from the former owners) "cheapest seed from Walmart".
I have given her a slightly larger OLD cage of mine but it is only a temporary fix since it is still not appropriately sized for Louie. For just a little over $100 (between $125-150) Carol and I can go to a local bird fair in June and get Louie a cage that will be perfect. It will be roomy enough for toys and plenty of perches and will even have a playstand on top where he can be outside his cage when Carol is home.
Carol has done so much giving of her self and her time and resources here at GON and now she has given her heart to this bird. Thay should have at least another 50 years to spend together. Will you help me return some of the love she has given to all of us by helping Louie get a new cage?

You gave me grief in the sense that you made it sound like my vote wasn't good enough.
So it did hurt, I mean I am new and I was explained that a 3 was good and I felt that you were rejecting my vote all together.
It's basically, both of our own misunderstandings of what we each said that made it get to this.
I thought you were ungreatful and you thought I was saying it was insignificant. So maybe our miscommunitcation is whats wrong here.
I never thought the wish didn't mean anything.
Of course every wish means something, no matter what they are for.
I just voted based on what I feel and not on anything more.
I felt and still feel it deserves a 3. As I said I just go with my gut.
If I felt that a wish was insignificant I would not even take part in voting on it.
