A plane ticket to take a vacation and visit a friend
As a single mom to 5 sons, some of whom have special needs, I don't get a break very often.
Due to my boys needs I have not been able to work in a little over a year and therefore have very limited funds with which to budget.
Last year I was able to take a vacation to visit a very good friend of mine. This trip really refreshed me and enabled me to be a better mother to my boys when I returned home. It also gave me some time in person with my closest friend, who I talk to every day thanks to internet voice chat, but cannot visit as he lives on the other side of the continent.
I very much want to see him again, and to get away for a week while my children's father visits with them, to give me a chance to refresh, de-stress and give me he strength to continue to be the mother that my boys need me to be. (more)

I have seven children i know what its like to not have time for yourself i wish you all the luck you deserve this and when your on vacation take a extra five min. for all us and we will enjoy the vacation to. good luck enjoy your trip Chrissy

vacation will be at the end of August but will be buying the ticket fairly soon.
Next project is fundraising (not here) for my oldest son's trip to the Canadian National youth Chess championships.

I have four step-kids and when they are all here I don't have a moment to think. I hope you get your vacation! There should be a federal fund for moms to get vacations once a year at least!

Personally I think the break made me better able to cope when I got back, and the boys saw that I went, and returned, and I think that it is good for children to see that and help them know that I'm not going to abandon them, even if for some reason I have to take a break for a couple of days.
I hope that you too sometime get to step away from all of your responsibilities just to be you for a while.

I completely understand the need for a break from 5 children. Add on special needs and you absolutely need some down time. Not because you don't love them, but actually because you do love them.
