Let the Hawk soar with some air
I have come to know and love my friend Rayhawk(Becky) she has helped me so much.
I have found out she does not have a way to put an air conditioner in her room. She is disabled and has to stay in this room most of the time. The heat is crazy now and she really needs A/C. I have been researching and I have found a portable one that does not require a window to put it in. This is a link to the system I found. I know that 100 will not cover it but it will sure help with the cost of the unit. Please help get some air moving so our favorite hawk can soar or least be cool while she sits in her room. I just wanted to take a moment to thank Amber for being such a thoughtful and caring a person. I thank everyone who voted and/or commented. I have always had nothing but kindness and support from GON members and I truly am appreciative and thankful for that.

No one should EVER be attacking Becky. She is a fair, honest person who never starts any drama or trouble and sees all sides to a "story" or issue. A wisher may have won a wish three weeks ago, but this is a wish she is putting up for a FRIEND, who is a dear and trusted (and extremely kind) member of this community. And I don't care if she did win 100.00 here (which she didn't), I would still support her 100% because air conditioning and a scooter are two different things.
Becky is a born "giver." I have seen her help others while she struggles herself. Becky has even gone so far as taking a wish down when it was winning, in order to allow someone who had pressing medical needs to win their wish. Now that is an awesome person in my book and she doesn't do it for "show" she is genuine and never asks for a thing. She is always the first one there to support others when they are hurting or down and lend a listening and trusted ear. She is practical and sensible in her responses and I have never seen her become angry even when she has reason to be. She is often the voice of reason and manages to stay neutral in heated discussions/threads.
Whenever wishes get near the top, there is always drama and attacks and I got so tired of it that after experiencing it first time I stopped wishing for myself!
I was told this before and knew when I put my last wish up that this is a wishing site, NOT a needs site (told this over and over) and it doesn't go by others' opinions of who is more deserving or by if someone just won a wish or received donations. If they win and are voted a winner by the community, then they WIN and that is it.
My feeling is this: The community will decide who they choose to rally around and if they choose someone, that person should be very grateful. If they choose someone else, you should be happy for that person. You should never expect it or feel that you deserve it more than another member! You should just be grateful for the help you received from the community without ever coming here expecting or feeling more deserving. I have also noticed with wishes of NEED the community looks at what outside resources there may be available to that person and whether or not they have exhausted all their options. Many here, have no where left to turn and I do believe the community takes that into consideration.
I am sorry for writing so much, but I will NEVER stand by and see Becky attacked or considered less deserving of anyone else. I don't care what she has received or where she has received it. Becky is worthy of every little thing under the sun that comes her way, because of the type of person she is. Don't drag her into the drama, she would want no part of it and you will be hurting a beautiful person, friend, soul.

The community will decide. If this wish that Amber so kindly put up for me wins, I will be grateful. I don't feel I deserve help above any other so if this wish does not win I will accept that the community chose another wish and I will, with sincerity, congratulate the winner and be happy for them.

Didn't you just win a wish 3 weeks ago for $100 when you were getting donations also because you needed more than what you could get from here?

I'm not sure where you got your information from, but I did not get donations all over the internet. I received help in February from 2 websites for the scooter. I also submitted all proof where it was requested including identity verification and proof of physical disability.
I received no monetary help from GON for the scooter. I was new at the time and not a trusted member of the community. What I did receive was suggestions for sites where I might get help so I went here and did indeed get the help.
I back this up 100 percent 5 stars. Becky is wonderful
I'm working in Kingston this summer, where we get 40 degrees Celsius in the shade, and average about 95% humidity mid-summer. I fully understand the need for AC!
