Hi everyone! I know a very selfless woman who needs a wheelchair very much.
She has a mobility scooter, but that is only good for the outdoors. Rayhawk needs a regular chair to help her get around in the house. I know she is trying to struggle without one and I know she has fallen a few times because she needs this chair! I love my friend, Becky, and I know many of you do, too, and think very highly of her. Please know that she has exhausted all resources (and due to many "catches" in the system, does not qualify for a chair) and needs our help. She can get a new wheelchair from 130. to 150. and that includes shipping!
While Rayhawk is in need, what is she doing? Supporting others, of course! Why? Because she feels their needs are greater than her own. This woman has done so much good here, at other places, and behind the scenes. Some of you know how much she does and some may not be aware of how much goodwill she spreads and of all the causes she is involved in, never focusing on herself, but trying to find out what others need and helping them in many ways, including financially. (and including all the disabled, unwanted animals she care for). I believe Rayhawk would give her last dollar to someone if she thought they needed it more than she did! One hundred dollars would be a huge chunk of money toward a wheelchair for Rayhawk. Please help me show her that her needs matter just as much as anyone elses!
Thank you for reading my wish! (more)

This is a great wish. I hope Becky can get her wheelchair.
you got my 5
What a very sweet and great wish!! Good luck! :)
You got my 5 stars and support. Just a suggestion but have you tried asking the local churches or civic clubs, ie: Masons,VFW,etc. about help in getting a suitable chair. Many times they can help you. Either way I hope you get what you are in need of to be comfy and mobile.
I do not use churches, ever, for anything. If you would to know why feel free to PM. I'll just say publicly it's out of respect.
I hope this helps.
Thank you, everyone, for your votes! :)
you have my 5 stars and a karma bar....it keeps all the goons away ;-)

You get my five - all my best
:)
Of course you have my support!! Always!!!! We love ya Becky!

Thank you Sarah and MommyP. I can get a chair for $119 shipping included, please spread the word. If Doxie wins this wish it's possible to get this chair without asking for any donations or cutting deeply into my already stretched household budget.

This is the price of one from a wheelchair store with free shipping, once you add on the removable arm rests and elevating leg rests the total price comes up to $179, making the Ebay chair above a much better deal

If you don't know what a transport chair is, which is the chair I can get a prescription for (and have refused), this is a transport chair:

You will have my 5 when voting starts!
Just wanted to note a correction. I do have a manual wheelchair now, the problem is it was bought used and the frame is warped, it's very heavy, the seat is in rough shape, the tires are bad, those could be replaced but one of the rims is bad too so the whole wheel needs to be replaced. I need elevating footrests, but the pin spacing is wide on this old chair and the older style leg rests when you can find them are expensive. It is much less costly to purchase a newer, lighter model with included elevated leg rests.
I am eligible through Medicaid for a transport chair. If you don't know what that is...it's basically a baby stroller for adults. No big wheels for manual wheeling. You need an assistant to push. This is the second time I have been told I could have a transport chair and both times the prescription was refused.
i'll be back when voting starts
