I am due december 18th with my second child, a baby girl and we plan to name her Alilia Rhiannon.
My first child, Steven was born August 13th 2005. 569 days, 7 hours and 31 min later, he passed. He was diagnosed with Krabbe's Disease, a terminal neuro-degenerative genetic disease. This disease takes the life of is victims between 6-18 mts old.
My Alilia, could have this same horrible disease, she has a 25% chance of having it. This Christmas could be her only Christmas, My husband, is stationed in Kuwait, he left two days after we found out I was pregnant. Hopefully he will be home for Christmas and we will get Family pictures taken. His tour is over Sept. 2009. By then Lily should be around 9 months old. When Steven was 9 months old he was already blind, could not move and had feeding difficulties. The two weeks my husband is home in December could be his only two weeks with our baby girl.
