Winning isn't everything, trying and being honest is. Oh well, no beans for me this time. But, I am so happy at the way the vote worked out this round that I am shaking from excitement.
Thank you guys for your support, and stay away from the Wal, go for the 8 o'Clock French Roast whole been, and grind it fine. It's pretty good for $3 something a bag
You've got my support. As a former Starbucks employee, I can feel your pain for the Walmart coffee. Good luck!
If I were still working there, I'd be getting a free pound of beans a week and I'd most certainly send you some, since we can't get through coffee that fast even if we tried here at home :)
Starbucks is not my favorite but it rates in the top 10. I do however find sitting on the patio, surfing the web on the Wireless while smoking a great Arturo Fuente Cigar a great way to spend the better part of an evening. That would be at least a 5 cupper.
WallyWorld coffee is no laughing matter, especially to the unlucky goof that has to drink it. But honestly, if you brew it strong enough, it is a bit like a shot of Cuervo, it hurts going down, but it gets the job done.
Prepare your victory dance! You should go for Kicking Horse Brand Coffee. They have one bean called Kick Ass, with a picture of a donkey on it that I think you'd enjoy!
I love the look of the Fair Trade Organic 454 Horse Power, at $12.95 a pound, then shipping from Canada it would be more expensive. But I do like the Fair Trade products and organic products
Man, I wasn't aware of this "kibosh", I hate watching news. I hope my buddy at Killer Beans can still get his shipments in. He is here in the states and his imported beans from around the world are shipped to Canada where a highly respected Roaster puts the magic on them then sends em back into the states. Do you think this might be effecting him and his Business?
I might have to try some of that, my wife has been after me to do so since she met someone I don't know who is somehow connected to the company. I looked at their page. So much flavoured coffee. I hate flavors in my coffee that didn't come from the bean. I get dark roasted, full bodied beans, grind them fine and brew them amazingly strong. Then I add Zilch. I like it Hot, Black and plentiful.
I actually have a 1970 something model PopLight corn popper that has never been used, still in the box and i am going to get me some green beans and roast some of my own, so I can see if i have the knack. Who knows, someday I may be able to drink some that I roasted. But for now, I have tried Starbucks, not to my liking, everything they sell at any grocery store, some was OK, but not for me when I really need a fix. I also tried Givalia and that coffee made me want to puke, nice Drip Machine though. Mr Jerry at Killer Beans has never ever let me down. He has the best I ever brewed, and he ships it is a priority box, with an invoice so I can make out the check to pay him while I drink my first cup from a fresh bag. His bags are clear front so you can see the beans, they are Dark Oily fantastic aroma and flavor. I swear I get excited when I open the bag. But it is a bit on the expensive side for my budget, or lack thereof. So I don't get to drink it often, haven't had any in like 6 months or more. Been drinking 8 O'Clock French Roast, not bad, but not good enough.
Who knows, if a miracle puts this wish in the win, I might split it and get a pound from Jerry and a Pound of this Intel. coffee and side by side taste test em. That would be interesting and scientific. I might get a T-shirt that says, Dr. Coffee LOL
Lenin, Stalin, Marx, Trotsky, You've got a wish that's really hotsky! So many basic quality of life wishes this week! Good coffee = A must! 5 stars to you! I'd donate money too, but I don't have any to spare... I think I technically have negative $56,000. in fact. :D But I hope someone donates to this wish.
Let's hold hands and look for a notary public your icon is totally a hodaka, that's awesome, alright, cutthroats, you have my vote, i'm going to pass out now.
OK, call me a Geek, but I googled hodaka and it looks like they are Motorcycles. Having discovered this, I need to point out, the Icon I am using is a "slightly" distorted picture of a beat up, run down, Riverside 125cc made by Montgomery Wards in the 60s. Lucky me, as a kid I had 2, one to ride (when running) one for parts (when not). And if you look closely, you see a 5 gal saddle tank that sits roughly 5" higher than the very flat seat (try running one of those into a crevice by mistake) OUCH!
Anyway, thanks for the thumbs up on the Beans, they truly are the best around.
