my name is nakeisha wade and i am a young mother with 7 kids.
only 6 of them live with me. me and my kids were living in a homeless shelter for woman and children called it takes a village. we were living there for 6 months. i was pregnant and stressed out living there. i had lost a lot of weight because i didnt like the food they was feeding us and i couldnt buy or bring in my own foods that i was craving. my boyfriend didnt like the fact that i was looseing so much wieght while i was pregnant so he broke his lease and found a house for me, him and the kids to live in. the rent at the house is $1100 per month. he could afford the rent but he never have anything left over to pay the bills. i get $509 per month from public aid and all of that have to go on the bills. our gas bill is almost $800 and our light bill is almost $300. we put in a application for ceda but have'nt heard anything from them yet. we moved into this house because we was desprate to get out of the shelter. now its hard for us to find a house that we can afford and that would be big enough for all of us. we are in desprate need for winter coats because it is getting very cold very quick and we have spring jackets. i have a 6 month old that needs a snowsuite because i have to take her to get her shots on the bus. i have no car, she has no stroller, so i would have to carry her through the cold and snow to get to the bus stop. i know that i would be able to afford coats for all of us one day, but not soon enough. by the way. my boyfriend had his own 1 bedroom apartment and he tried to let me and the kids live with him, but his landlord started trippen. thats how we ended up in the shelter, and he couldnt stand to see us in there no longer, thats why he broke his lease. my boyfriend name is richard and he is a good man. he helps me with the kids the best way he can. only the baby is his but he treat the rest like they were his too. my kids always ask us why dont they never get new things? and its said that we have to tell them that all of the money has to go on the rent and the bills. my kids are very smart and they deserve what ever they ask for but we cant give it to them. please help us get coats for our family befor the cold winter comes? There are agencies that will help you get coats just call your local info hotline!! Good Luck
6 monsters in a house! my goodness :) you deserve more than 5* but that's I can give right now...
walmart has nice coats for kids for under $30 each... 2nd hand stores have them for under $5
read how it works
I just have to agree with the other posts.....didn't really leave much else to say
everyone else has said what I was going to say..
1) The most you can win here is $100 and asking for more than that is rude. 2) $400 for winter coats is ridiculous - where are you getting them, Banana Republic and Baby Gap? 3) I agree with Caribasset - stop mooching off the system. 4) Find your baby daddys and make them help you out.

I would try places like GoodWill and Salvation Army that is what I did. I also suggest trying to find a less costly shelter, bring the light bill down and practice some budget meals.
Okie Doke. You can get coats for you, the baby and boyfriend at walmart for $45. You stated you do not have the other 6 kids (why?)
You need to have the fathers of these children help care for them, and stop relying on the income of those who pay taxes. There are many employment opportunities available to you including work from home options. Don't you want to be proud of yourself, and handle your business?
