well, it's not just my daughter that my hubby is saying NO to, it's his own also. both of the girls, and for the same reasons. and believe me when I say, if his daughter comes back somebody will have hell to pay!!!!!!!!!!! I will make his and her lives a living hell!!!!!!!!!!!! this you can believe!!!!!!!!!!!! lolol his daughter is 10 times worse than mine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

they are both reknown for making bad decisions and bad choices in their lives, and me and my hubby should not have to keep paying for their stupidity!!!!

well this mother has fought tooth and nail for her kids!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! all of them!!!!!!! and my hubby has allowed my daughter and grandson to move in with us many, many times over the last 15 yrs. I can understand why he has stopped allowing them to come back here to stay. we have gone through many yrs. of this with both girls, his and mine, and at some point we had to say NO. both girls have used us and abused us for yrs., and my hubby is just tired of it. they are old enough to stand on their own 2 feet, but they don't seem to be doing that very well.
the daughter that I made this wish will be 37 yrs. old in April!!! the other daughter is now 32!!!!!!!! so............

I have children from a previous marriage and I tell you right now, If my wife refused to let one of my daughters stay with us, forcing her to the street, my WIFE would hit the curb so fast her head would spin.

well it would take a long time to explain our situation to you so perhaps you would understand a little better.
let me just say this...we have been going through this for about 15 yrs., with both of our daughters...mine and my hubby's. for over 15 yrs. our doors have been 'revolving doors' for both. one moves in the front door, the other one moves out the back door!!! and my hubby and myself are so very tired of it. when they move in, they don't do much of anything around here to help out. I become the maid, chef, laundry person, and chauffaur (mainly for my daughter that doe not have a vihicle right now).
I understand why my hubby feels the way he does, but at the same time I, being the mother, feel the need to help my child when she needs help. if my hubby leaves I would not be able to support myself. I am physically not able to work anymore and have no income coming in of my own. my hubby is my support!!! anyway it's a very long story and a lot more complicated than I care to go into at this time.

I was living with a guy for 7 yrs. My daughter needed to come live with me for a while, he said no way..........guess where he is?? Not living with me that's for sure, he got kicked to the curb real fast. My daughter is doing great now, and I live with my kids.

Well by the time they are at that age, yes they should very well be able to stand on their own 2 feet for sure. Thank you for clarifying your situation, it makes way more sense now! I hope they grow up and take some responsibility soon, for all of your sakes. Prayers and best wishes to you all.

well Joanne, if I did that, I would have no roof over my head!!!!! my hubby is my soul support. I am not able to work anymore and I have no retirement and I can't get my dr. to help me get on disability so I am stuck!!!

they have stayed with us a couple of times. my hubby, (her step-father) refuses to allow them to come back and stay with us again. he values his peace and quiet too much. it breaks my heart for things to be this way!!!! the last time they stayed with us she had over $800.00 saved. she met a guy and they decided to get a small rental house together. I gave her the money that I had been holding for her that she had saved and she used all of it to get into this little house. the 'boyfriend' never paid a penny towards it!!! he moved out after a couple of days, or rather she kicked him out, lolol. she could not pay the rent on the little house by herself so she had to move again. they are presently living with a co-worker of hers. I don't know how long that will last.

the only jobs she has be able to find are min. wage jobs.....

Sounds like she has CMTS. I suffered from it myself for years! Chronic Man Trouble Syndrome's symptoms include: unstable interpersonal relationships, uncontrollable crying, homelessness, bankruptcy, and a general aura of ennui. Perhaps your husband might be more willing to give her the time to get back on her feet if there was no additional male attachment involved. If it was just her and her kid he might be more willing. When I found myself in the very situation you describe your granddaughter being in my family put their foot down and refused to offer me shelter unless it was JUST me and my son. For years I put up with freeloading, irresponsible, emotionally erratic guys and the time I spent living with my Mom sans man was probably the best thing my family has ever done for me. I wound up in a spot where it was either ditch the guy and live with my mom or live on the streets. I chose my son's well being and went to live with my mom. I don't regret the decision, although it was a very hard one to make. I can't say for sure since I don't know the EXACT situation, but it sounds like she may have the same problem with guys I did. She's just TOO nice. She may be going through a period where she desperately feels the need for a guy to lean on, and she may be experiencing disappointment after disappointment when those guys fail her. IF this seems an accurate description of your granddaughter's situation then perhaps your husband's attitude towards her presence has more to do with the boyfriends she keeps in tow than the peace and quiet. Just my 2 cents. Hope it helps!
