I was given custody of my grdson after my daughter went to jail.
He is adhd and was abused. (neglect)He did not receive the care that was needed. When I got him all my time has been spent trying to get his educational level to a second grade level and not kindergarten level where he was. I had to give up my night jobs taking care of the elderly because my grandson was not able to spend the night away from me. He trusted no one. The school staff(Mckinley) worked with us and he needed Drs. for his meds. and eye drs. I have signed him up for basketball, but I have run out of money to support us. I really need some help. He also has a therapist to help him sort out what he has been through. He can spend only 2 hrs a week with his mom and he is still going through a tough time. I have to screen his friends, so he does not see the ones he was left with when my daughter wanted to run for her drugs. He saw all of this. My heart cries for him every night. His continual care leaves me no choice but not to work at this time. He receives 200.00 a month and that is it from the welfare. Is there someone that might help me get through this? I have applied at the modest needs and because I can't donate money they will not help me but yet they brag they have millions to help. Help who? Thank you (more)

Never give up on him. Adhd is very hard to deal with, my son has it. But never give up. And I wish you two the best
You need to apply to Social Security for disability benefits for him.
