I belong to a on line community called Care2 and I received an email in early March from an on line friend that broke my
heart it read
"Good Bye And I love You"
"Hi
my precious friends! I am writing you this card to tell you 'I love you
and Good Bye for ever" because I am dying. As a SMA patient my
condition rapidly got worse and my lung muscles do not have any power
to work and my whole body system breaks down. The only one chance for
me to stay alive and recover is a stem cell treatment in China which
costs $30 000 but I do not have this money so I am waiting for my end.
That's why I want to tell you that it was a great pleasure to know you
and take part in this fantastic community! Good Bye my sweet sweet
friends! I love you!!!"
I didn't know her but had to do something so I sent her a friends request and became her friend. She lives in Pernik - 2304, Bulgaria.
After receiving her medical information I set up fund raisers to help but have only been able to collect a small amount.
I have sent her links to a few places that does stem cell research but she wrote me back saying
"After checking the precious information you gave me, now I have an answer only from the [ link ] being considered as suitable for such kind of treatment in China. They told me that SMA can be cured only there. I accepted but told them that unfortunately I need time to raise the money. May be Reve Foundation will not pay attention to me because I am not American? After all I hope that God will not leave me to die ... Raising $30 000 is now impossible for me ... But time will show."
And today I received a response from her after I asked her how she was doing.
"thank you for all you do ... I can't express with words how grateful to
you I am but unfortunately I saw that no more people like you live in
this world because I send my story to hundreds addresses and no one
cares that my life is going to finish ... But I am going to continue
fighting to show you that your effort is worth!
I love you and wish you all the best!"

I have been a member of care2 since 2004 but I have also been on GON for a year or two. I do not think I have to choose between one or the other - they are different. My limited time is spent on both when I can.

aceslady06 - I have known Kelli for years on Care2 and I can vouch that she is trying to help this girl. If you don't agree you could have just ignored it but, when someone's life is at stake, it is downright cruel to give 1 star.

Hi I wish you well, i checked out the blog very nicely set up, just a little advice google will close your google adsece account when they see that you are telling people to click on the adds that is a big no no and will close your account and stop any payments to you. Just wanted to give you a heads up.

I am giving you 5 stars for our Elista....Dear Kelli.....I thank you Kelli for all that you do for so many others. You are a rock that is steady for those other than yourself. Your amazing that you fight so hard for those that need the help, and for that alone I come here to fight for our friend Elista. It is discouraging when others that do not have others avenues for their shorsightedness, and are ready to slap you down when your trying to make a difference for someone other than yourself. One does not have to belong to just one website to meet aothers and fight for those that need real help...It is a free world.... That is why Care 2 is so amazing with so many people from so many walks of life. Elista...you deserve to live a life with a chance at getting better without meanspirited people so ready to attack a cause they have no interest in than their own. Wow. You would go as far as to have others downvote wishes just to bump this one up. That tactic is an old one that has and will not work. Why cant Care2 care for its own?
I would like to inform you that I am really in need of this treatment and thanks to Kelly, one day I will have it. If you want to blame me because of my illness - ok, but just tell me your worries instead of suspecting the people who care for me. Why didn't you contact me? And if you prefer to prevent me from having my treatment than helping me, it's not fair. No one can guarantee you that you will not need such an expensive treatment one day ... And if you were me, what would you do in this situation?
This wish is getting a lot of down votes but am I accusing anyone? Of course not. And I won't. Show everyone the proof that I have done such s childish thing.

I've had stem cell therapy in Thailand on my heart. Unfortunately it made me worse then when I went there. Though I have met several folks over there that say it has helped them.
So, I wish her the best of luck and hope someone else can get use out of the procedure.

I understand completely and behind this stem cell as I have a dear friend who has had Parkinson's since she was 32 and helped her when she had to take her pills and go through tension , sweating and I was there to help stretch her limbs out and she was embrassed
by me seeing this. It broke my heart. she is in a wheelchair but has a loving husband and two grown daughters. But it doesn't take the place of the body not doing what you want it too.
