I am dealing with a company which clearly values money far more than human life.
I realize I am just one person, someone they don't know or care about, but I am still a person. I can think and will and emote and reason and I can shape the fate of the world in my small way. Money only has the meaning we give it; it will never have the importance or value of a biological life. If this were a movie the bad guy would be played by Rufus Sewell and he would cackle as he chooses the briefcase full of unmarked bills over the life of a random stranger. How many of us would make that choice?
This issue isn't just about me or Cigna; this issue pertains to every human being on the planet. Can you think of anything that has as much importance as life? Life does not equal money or products or services. Life can only equal life.

I am a complete stranger to Liesl, however last year when my son died Liesl and others donated money to purchase a beautiful silver chain with a beautiful quote on it, and at Christmas when they all knew how hard a time I would be having, a beautiful floral arrangement arrived at my home from Liesl and many others.
You really are completely way off base about Liesl. She is one of the kindest people I know and I am so glad to know that she's only a phone call away. I only wish the world was full of more people like her.

I've read your blog and it must be so hard for you knowing that there is something that can be done to help you but not being able to have it done :/
I was so lucky when I had my surgery that everything happened fairly quickly and I had access to the treatment I needed.
I really hope that you win this battle with the insurance company. It's sad to think about their values.
It is quite frustrating to realize that your life is not worth more than pieces of paper. Obviously it is worth more, but the people who hold your life in their hands don't think so. Why in the name of all that is chocolate isn't that illegal??

Why Cigna? I am a medical biller and have not heard anything negative about them. I have about other insurances, but Cigna always seems to pay on time and cover just about anything.
