Sure :) So.... Me and my then boyfriend were staying at a hotel....and so where a bunch of....I don't even know what to call them. Basically group ups dressed up as various charectors from Star Trek. They were talking in "languages" and basically "role playing" or something with the captian/other characters.

They totally freaked me out, they were so adamant ("No, call me CAPTIAN" to the waitress for example) and were in they're costumes for the entire weekend we were there.

Now, everytime I see or hear about star trek I imagine the person in a silly costume, talking in made up tv language. :)

But hey....like I said, its just not my thing, I don't care one bit what others do to entertain themselves :) I am sure I have tons of hobbies and shows I enjoy that others hate (Gilmore Girls anyone? :) )

Well, that would certainly do it. Might want to steer clear of Blessed.

Hahahaha! Well avoid Creation Cons if you are expecting more than an autograph. Its been our experience the fan run conventions are more fun. Of the actors I have met through the years I would have to say the most fun was Robert O Reilly who played Gowron. He was a party animal. My least favorite was Majel Barrett. She went on and on in her speech about how her husband had been robbed and was a cold fish in person.

Man, I'd love to meet Gowron!

Unfortunately no, I live in Northern Ontario and the nearest conventions are generally 400 km south of here. It's not so bad though, 400 km closer than where I lived before!

Though keep your eyes and pointed ears open, the convention dad, mark and I went to was only about 5 hours north of where you are. Kapuskasing.


oh, and NB. is not 400k from T. and T. is not 800k from TO.

Thank you. That is exactly the sort of thing I want to hang on to. Some of my fondest memories are from nights where my dad didn't have to go down into the mine, and the whole family would gather 'round the TV with our blankets and pillows, and pop in recorded episodes of Star Trek, or maybe one of the movies.

Yes, they play the reruns. It seems to be mostly Voyager and Enterprise now, though Next Gen still gets a fair bit of air time. It's just not the same as having the episodes though, and being able to watch them whenever you have time.
