Because my Husband and I have been struggling since Hurricane Katrina to make ends meet.
Between the flaws in our Governments
"assistance agencies", and my Husband getting scammed by Blue World Pools out of Atlanta, GA not even a year after the Hurricane, we've found it very difficult to get back on our feet.
He's been at his current, ledgit, employer for almost 5 months now, and just recently got a raise, so that will help us, once it goes into effect. I recently lost my job, in the service industry, but am looking as hard as I possibly can, to gain employment again.
The requested amount would be enough to pay our bills up to current status, as well as help us pay off a title loan we were forced to get after the job scam with blue world pools. It was either this, or lose our utilites, leaving it impossible for him to find work. We owe over 1000.00 us dollars on the title loan, so any help we can get with paying that down, would help us greatly in being able to pay our rent.
We are struggling, but refuse to give up, as well as refuse to lose another home, as we did in Katrina. So any help that can be offered will be put to VERY good use, helping us get ahead, so we can try our best to get back home to our friends and family, where we are longing to be.
I can provide proof that we are Katrina victims, if need be, just message me and let me know if you need some sort of proof stating we are from the damanged area.
Please, PLEASE help my Husband and I become a bit more stable with our current living situation.
We cn also use simple items like litter for my kitty's(my son's), toilet paper, Shampoo, razors, dish soap, cleaning supplies, garbage bags, stuff like that. The little things that add up, and right now, we're having to do without, because we can't afford to go out and buy them. So giftcards are very welcome. Also, gas cards. As you all know, the price of gas is extremely high. So looking for a job is some what hard, being limited on how much gas you have for the week. So, as you can see, the big items will keep us with a home, and the little items will make the home a bit more comfortable for us. Finally, if you can't help with donations, please pass along the you tube video(I made) I've linked. (more)

You know, I went to the dr. today for my anti-anxiety meds, and it was a new doctor in the clinic. Well, when I told her I was suffering from PTSD and sever anxiety from the storm, she looked at me and said, "STILL?"! I was FLABBERGASTED! I mean crap, yes it's been 20 months sense the storm, but we lost our homes, our friends, everything...We're scattered from our friends and family and the place we've called home our ENTIRE lives.
So many people are still struggeling and still suffering with stress/anxiety/PTSD. For most, it did not even set in till 6-12 months AFTER the storm. It's hard to explain, but your body goes into shock or goes numb or something, and you just don't know what to feel at first. So I find it hard to swallow, that people think that my anxiety/stress is a "bad" thing, when I've suffered one of the most traumatic events a person could survive. I just don't get it...
Then again, it's nothing new. I've come to realize that when you say the word "Katrina" or "evacuee", you're instantlly labled as a "Transplant", and looked at funny. I've also come to learn that you can't really grasp the impact this sitaution has on a person, unless you've actually gone through it yourself.
Anyway, sorry this got so long. Guess I needed to rant! LoL
Thanks again for the vote!
I came...I voted...I gave you a 5...lol lol
