I just joined recently and still figuring out how all this works - I am on SSDI so my funds are very limited - my next benefit check is tomorrow - please send me an email with your home address or some other way that I can send along something so she can get some momentos to remind her of the fun she had. I would just as soon see ehr more happy and will find something I can do without this coming month. If you go to Disney world - take her to the dancing bears if they still have it and you will see alan the drinking bear in the skit they do - I don't drink but felt attached to him and have his mugs and stuffed effigy here.

Hi everyone! I am sorry for not being around much today but we just got news that they have moved Macy's surgery to June 8th, and it has hit a little hard. They have decided to do a more extensive surgery, which takes longer (2-4 hours) and we were not expecting this. She will be under anestesia and this is a big concern with Mito patients. It has kind of worried me now. Look, I know this is not the place to request such, but would all that pray, please say a little prayer for Macy or light a candle. I ask this not to offend anyone but I count on each and every one.
I can't even begin to express my appreciation to all of you. There are no words that come close to how blessed we feel by all of your support. I just thank you so much from the bottom of my heart!!! I will never forget RHF and any of you and will always do my best to keep active and help others as I can. I just really wanted to say thank you so much!!! Please know that I am catching up on wishes, voting etc so please be patient. I haven't forgotten you folks and will catch up for the next couple of hours. Thank you again, so very much!!!

God bless you and your family. We have an entire family with Mito in our community. To date, 3 of the children have passed away. One is doing alright, one refuses to be tested, and the mother has tested positive. I don't personally know your pain, but I know of people who do.

Hi Lisa, Don't mean to question you like this but just noticed your post and was wondering if you knew this family personally? See, I am trying to find anything that will help Macy and with the entire family having it, the parents may be able to tell me more about all of this so that we can frind something to help her. I am praying for them as I can't imagine what they have went through with all of these children with Mito. I would like to find out if their's is also complex I.
I know that this wasn't the place for questions so folks, please forgive me for asking here but this could be a huge help in saving my daughter. Being an entire family with this is rare and I am certain, they would know more than just the average parent about this. Thank you Lisa for your support! I very much appreaciate everything. God bless

Hi everyone! Please forgive me for not being around to post today. I have not felt good. I think sinuses and exhaustion is finally having it's toll. LOL Macy has had a tummy ache for a couple of days so I have not gotten much sleep. Insomnia won't be a problem tonight LOL

One of the first things I did was clinical trials and research studies at NIH (National Institutes of Health) While technically they are not a treatment facility , they will usually evaluate you and give you the Very latest in information on advancements in treatments and information, and more importantly discuss diffrential diagnosis...third , fourth and even fith opinions never hurt in cases like this. They may also have some clinical trials going on. If you havent already have a look at them.

I know that you will do whatever it takes to make her dreams come true. And never, ever give up hope. Im A hospice patient myself, and while I have no deluisions of the probabilities, keep in mind Dr's do not know everything, I can attest to that. Everytime I see something like this, and ive seen alot at different hospitals Ive been to, it makes me more thankful for the 39 yrs I have had, that these children may never see.
Call it naughty ,nice or whatever you want, I dont think its to much to ask to have this childs friend go to disney with her. And I hope (and am confident) others here see it the same way.

I think you are so right i have become my Dr.'s practise dummie 17 surgeries since June and still no better than when we first started, So Tina Please go for more opinions, The only problem i know Tina will face with that is our insurance here in Tennessee is not the best in the World. And they can be down right cruel with it,.

You are an Angel as Well as Lil Macy.. You Have A Great Friend In Wilma !! have read for months in care2 groups I belong to about Macy.. and I have prayed and even cried some behind the scenes.. I am sorry for begging you all like this and I hope I don't offend the wish poster or anybody else, but this wish just breaks my heart. It would make this little girl's LIFE to have it fulfilled. Tina, it wouldn't matter where this wish was placed...I would have searched the Nice and Naughty places both to give it a 5. MAW has some very rigid rules that really need changing, and I wrote their board about the same issue a few years ago. I'm going to re-write that letter, and send it to them again (with a copy of the first one.) It might not help this time, but it might for the next little one in Macy's position.

After all the debate over whether this is a naughty or nice wish I'm glad to see you finally decided! (although I still fall into the camp of it being a nice wish) Also I'm disappointed in Make-a-Wish they should see that a 16 year old brother is not the best companion for something like that.

I understand and sincerely appreciate your support! I hope everyone can understand though my thinking on this. I know I cannot make everyone happy, but hope it does not offen anyone either.
Make a wish is a wonderful cause, and many children would never get to even go if not for them, but I think it is more the lack of funding, rather than them not understanding about the friend. We live in a small area, and our funding at make a wish here is not as large as it is in the bigger areas. All in all, I think it is just an amazing cause and they just have a hard time with funding.
