We want to drive across the country to Albuquerque to surprise my father in law for his birthday.
It has been years since we have seen him..neither of us can afford to make it to the other. He was diagnosed with Multiple sclerosis three years ago and his health has declined quickly. He has trouble walking at all and yet still holds down a full time job. He has been trying for 30 years to get his full 100% VA disability benefits so he can retire and travel. As of yet he only gets 30% even though he has ms and a major ear disease that is linked to the rice paddies in Vietnam. He is a wonderful father and grandfather. He has expressed how much he wants to see his grandkids ( we have 3 kids, one 6, one 4 1/2, and one 3 years old) and how he barely knows my youngest son. Talking on the phone is just not enough, and due to his hearing loss from vietnam it is very difficult for him to hear my kids voices. We have talked to my husband's sister and she will be driving her family down to see him as well if we can make it too. It has been almost 4 years since we have seen her and her two sons. My husband's grandparents also live there and visiting them will give my husband a chance to see his grandma before she loses all memory of who we are ( she has alzheimers). With all of us there it would make my father in law's year to see us all together again. I am wishing for the gas money to drive there to surprise him on his birthday this june. The look on his face when we would all show up at his doorstep with a cake and balloons would be priceless! ps. the pic is my father in law, mother in law, my husband and his brother and sister in 1980. I am placing this wish in the naughty category because it is something we would like to do, not an immediate pressing need. Thanks for looking and good luck on your wishes. (more)

WE HAD A HARD NIGHT LAST NIGHT...HIS LEUKEMIA IS ADVANCING AND HE IS IN DIRE NEED OF MORE BLOOD TRANSFUSIONS - SO MUCH SO THAT HE ACTUALLY PASSED OUT IN MY ARMS COMING FROM THE SHOWER.
