My son Jamin starts kindergarten at the end of July (year round school) and needs a spacer for his inhaler that has to be
kept at school. For those of you who dont know what a spacer is, it is an enclosed tube with a mask that makes it possible for younger children to get the medicine they need from their inhaler when they are having an asthma attack. My son has several attacks a week on good weeks, and lots more when the weather is hot. He is required to have an inhaler at school and the spacer is needed so he is able to use his inhaler when he needs it. He is only 4 1/2 and is not coordinated enough to use his inhaler without it. The crazy thing is that insurance does not cover the spacer, only the inhaler. The spacer is $50 that we just don't have right now. Our pediatrician tried to get him a free sample one but has had no luck. We also asked the children's hospital as well and they could not help us. Please make breathing easier for my little boy. Thanks for looking and good luck on your wishes. (more)

this is the one she recommends for him: The AeroChamber Plus(tm)Valved Holding Chamber with Infant or Child ComfortSeal* mask and EZ flow* coloured exhalation valve is specifically designed to meet the needs of children and infants. Each product feature has been incorporated to ensure maximum aerosol performance while encouraging compliance. The ComfortSeal(tm) mask provides minimal dead space, a comfortable fit, and a secure seal across a wide age range. A tight fitting face mask is critical when delivering aerosols to patients, especially children. The ComfortSeal(tm) Mask has demonstrated superior performance in maintaining a seal and minimizing leakage when compared to other commonly used face masks. The seal is vital in avoiding drug loss around the mask edges, a common problem with other devices. AeroChamber Plus(tm) VHC's robust EZ flow(tm) coloured exhalation valve system is built into the mask and ensures low resistance to airflow. Exhalation is directed away from the patient's eyes for increased delivery safety. Certain formulations might cause unwanted ocular side effects if there is contact with the aerosolized medication.

It is an aerochamber plus (has teddy bear on it) and a medium mask size. He has a small face so this size works best. I'm not sure what the exact RX is as he goes in a week for his checkup with his pediatrician. Thank you for offering, that is so nice of you.
What kind of Spacer do you need? My littlest had some bouts with Asthma has a baby and toddler but hasn't since. As a precaution the Doc still updates his prescription and we have a couple of new in the package spacers we don't need.
Good luck!!!!!
Good luck to you. You might try contacting the drug maker They may be able to get this for you.
You have my 5 *****
Here's my 5 *'s!! I hope it helps!! Good luck!!!
My daughter was given hers at the emergency room when we had taken her in for a bad attack. They used it with her in the Er and let her take it home. You might ask if you are in a similiar situation. Good Luck.
You are a Great Wisher! You got my Fiver!
He usually is so unable to breathe that he is trying real hard to get it onto his face...and he has had one since about 6months old...he is rather used to it i guess. If you put a really good smelling chapstick or lip gloss on a small spot on the mask that helps too. They like the smell alot then.
My little girl kearstyn hates her's how do you get him to not give you hell?
Good luck, I hope my vote helps you!

Not sure why this wish isnt on the 1st page. I have had asthma for about 20yrs and I remember having a hard time taking an inhaler when I was 10. I couldnt image a 4 yr old trying. $50 isnt a whole lot. I hope you get donations. I would give if I could! Good luck!
