Yesterday my mom Peggy was taken by ambulance to the hospital for chest pain at 1:00pm, at approx 3:00pm the Sheriffs called
me asking if I was Peggy's daughter. I told them yes and they proceeded to tell me that my mom?s home had caught fire that her two St. Bernard service dogs had been killed, they told me to go to the hospital and let my mom know. I was devastated. Her two service dogs Cyrus, he was a old boy and had been retired and Suiza was my mom's service dog, companion that helped my mom so much. Basically her whole life and best friend.
I went to the hospital and let my mom know, it was very hard she freaked out and had to be given a shot to calm her down.. She finally calmed down enough and wanted to go home to see about her dogs.. She did not believe that her dogs were dead and wanted to see for herself.
She went against medical advice and left the hospital. I drove her home.
When we got to her home it was still smoking and it was completely burnt down.. Her 2 dogs were dead and 4 others were missing. I told the Fire dept and they started looking. They found her other 3 dogs also dead. My mom just lost it and was into some kind of shock.
My Husband buried the animals while I looked for any others that might have survived and low and behold I found Fred, Her tortoise. His shell has been burned and near his eye the skin was singed and also on his foot but he is alive.(UPDATE : Got Fred some cream) Also we found Daisy another dog she had crawled up under a shed and escaped unharmed. I brought both animals home with me.
My mom is currently back in the hospital, we took her back last night and they admitted her and will be trying to see what is wrong.. They told me something with her heart and they are afraid of a heart attack.
I am wishing for $500 to help my mom. She lost everything she had and right now she doesn't even want to live. She has only the clothes she was wearing. Even her purse was in the fire and the money she did have is gone. My mom is disabled and cannot speak and is on SSI so this wish would mean allot to her and help her with some of the things she will need.
:( She will need to start rebuilding her life and she needs a start. Say a prayer for Peggy. (more)

I do not have money but I do know someone who has whippets and greyhounds they are giving them away. Greyhounds are smart and can probably be trained as a companion dog. The whippets are just real loving, gentle dogs. They need good homes because she had a stroke followed by a ruptured aneurysm on her brain. It left her mentally unable to care for the dogs. So maybe everyone in here could pitch in to ship you one of these dogs to be her companion. I do not know if this helps but maybe it is a way.

My house burned down before it's hard you don't realize everything you've lost til you go to get something and remember oh yeah it got burned. Any ways tell your mom to stay strong it does get better. Here is my five.
