Money to treat my less fortunate sisters.

I have two younger sisters: one full-sister who lives in Springfield, Missouri (whom I haven't seen in over 12 years) and a half-sister who live just south of Springfield in Arkansas. I just found my half-sister this past New Year's - I hadn't seen or talked to her since she was a toddler (she is now 20). I immediately booked a flight to see them, using saved airline miles, for the end of March. I will fly to Springfield, then drive a rented car down to Arkansas. Unfortunately, both of my younger sisters are not financially comfortable, especially the youngest, who is unemployed and had a baby this past August. I am a grad student, so even though I am more comfortable than they are, I still cannot provide the treats so many of us take for granted - a nice meal, a trip to the salon, new clothes. When I go out to see them, I would really like to have extra money to provide them with some non-essential, fun things, and maybe a little something to help with the new baby. I thank you for your time and consideration with my wish request.

A rap-tacular career in the music industry!

Why is this wish naughty, you might be asking? Because I said so, bitch.

I want to be a rap superstar - I have tons of songs of similar quality to Whack Attack! (video attached), which would all go greatly together on a hot, fresh album of savage proportions. I need the cash money bills to finance the epic production of my failsafe endeavor. I will be composing all the music, writing most of the lyrics, designing the album cover and getting all my friends to rap their little hearts out. You will fall in love with the outcome.

Again, how is this naughty? Again, because I said so.

"You can't touch this", words once spoken by a great poet - words that ring true even today. In times of crisis, Action Teams must be assembled to battle evil. This rap group I propose would be such a team. By using music that is composed completely free of samples, but made from scratch much like dishes on Iron Chef, the end result is more like home-cooked meatloaf as opposed to fast food hamburgers. So what I'm trying to say is ... obviously hard. Hardcore. Fuck those burgers, dude. Grab a slab of meatloaf and get a job.

And by "get a job", I obviously mean, "help me out".

This wish/plea will save the world. Now even I am starting to believe I should have filed this under "Nice", but you know what? Fuck it. This is pure Naughty. Deal with that, USA.

By the way, I love you. Make my dream come true.

Signed,

-Nathan Hartley Maas (AKA MC Ice Blade)

Help support my volunteer work in Ghana, West Africa!

I'm 21 years old and I am in my 4th year of undergraduate study at the University of Toronto, specializing in Christianity and Culture.

This coming May, I am scheduled to go to Ghana, West Africa for a three-month volunteer work placement. I will be working at a school that provides elementary and high school level education to rural, low-income children with the hope that they can increase opportunities for work, build leadership skills and help develop their own communities.

The village where the school is located is a community near Tema, a port and residential city in Ghana where most people make their livelihood through farming as well as some weaving and other manual skills.

The organization through which I am going is called Intercordia Canada. Intercordia believes that with the proper support, cross-cultural respect for difference and inequality can be learned. These efforts strive to counter the current status quo where ethnic, cultural and religious differences often lead to fear and division among people.
***You can learn more about Intercordia at [ link ]

While currently completing a series of on-campus and province-wide seminars, along with regular academic classes addressing current global issues, I look forward to my immersion experience at the end of the term.

I love kids, and it has been a dream of mine to be able to do a volunteer placement such as this one. As I try to raise funds to cover my travel and lodging expenses, I earnestly ask for your support and contribution.

Thank you for reading my wish!

PS: THE VIDEO HERE SHOWS A SCHOOL IN SEGA, GHANA -- one of the four schools where I'll be teaching/working this summer. PLEASE WATCH IT AND I KNOW THAT YOU WILL BE AS TOUCHED AS I WAS WHEN I FIRST SAW IT!!!

Happiness is... a Cheap Electric Guitar! (2nd try!)

(C'mon guys, help me out!)

My name is Sara, and I am a classically trained musician.

I've played in orchestras performing all over the nation, from places like the White House, to Eisenhower Hall, to Epcot Center. I've studied classical cello and guitar for 11 and 6 years, respectively, and am extremely passionate about what I do.

As much as I love to play classical music, I've also loved playing straight-up riot grrl rock music. Which feels incredible, and sounds great... And I love the option of being able to turn an amp up to ten and play something loud enough to bother the neighbors.

My life's become much more Bikini Kill than J.S.Bach.

I cannot, however, play this on my acoustic guitar, and am screwed when whoever I've decided to borrow an electric guitar from wants it back.

I think it's finally time for my own.

I've fallen in love with a particular white Epiphone Les Paul Custom... Not even a real Gibson Les Paul, but the best I could find in the lower price range.

You know that feeling you get when you hold somebody you love?

I picked this up, struck a chord, and it was love at first C minor.

Problem is, the sucker's about 500 bucks.

I've already saved about 200 towards the cause, but I'm a full-time college student at RIT, a ridiculously intense upstate New York tech school that I'm paying for almost entirely in student loans and my part-time job, and it's starting to feel like I'm never going to be able to spare the rest of this money if I still want to be able to eat, maintain my 3.0 GPA, and to graduate on time, with a full degree.

I work hard, and have worked hard to get where I am.

So please... Help me out.

For the love of noise!

I'm a single mom that has always done the responsible thing rather than spend money on "toys". oys". I had a child at an early age, still managed to graduate from high school and go to college while working two or more jobs just to scrape by. My first marriage was short lived with a man who turned out to be violent and my divorce left me newly single with two children. Some how I have always found ways to provide my children with opportunities that I never had as a child, such as paying to play those cost per season rec sports, monthly payments for karate lessons, weekly music lessons, special summer camps, and a kid themed vacation every year or so. I've sacrificed my own wishes and desires to fulfill those of my children's, which is what I should do. I recently purchased a beat up motorcycle for really cheap. It's something that I have always wanted since my dad first taught me how to ride when I was a kid. I've purchase the few parts required to get it running and am able to tackle that project on my own, accomplishing it in one afternoon. Now it's ready for the custom paint job of my dreams and some fancy chrome details. Since I am a professional puppet builder (like Muppets, Sesame Street, Fraggle Rock, etc), I would love to have a puppet theme on my bike. I have focused on a Gonzo design and found the artist that can do the work for me. Since the bike is an older model (1984) it will take some time to locate and afford all of the chrome parts that I want, so the estimated price above is just for the Gonzo themed paint job on my bike and helmet. Obviously, this is a recreational type project that is just for me to enjoy but I think it's finally a way for me to express myself and reap the benefits of being responsible and doing the right thing all these years. I deserve a little something, don't I? Attached is a photo of my bike in it's current condition. I hope I win, but even if I don't this is a really fun site and I'v enjoyed reading all of the creative ways people would like to spend their money. -Muppet MaMa

You should vote for me! The reason is, I want some gear to make movies with. A digital HD broadcast camera, multiscreen digital editing workstatoin, a radical redistribution of raisins around the country, so that each person has an EQUAL number of raisins! and some money to take time off work to make films (not neccessarily about raisin communism).

It's not safe if hollywood is the only city with lots of cameras. Example: someone is walking by hollywood carrying a large cup of water.... OOPS, they slip, and they spill water ALL over hollywood. Now ALL the cameras and workstations are ruined. Sigh.. I'll keep one of each, safe, here.

Funding for a trip to build an orphanage in Mozambique

My wife and I are planning on going on a trip to Mozambique next fall. We are co-leading a group that will be building an orphanage and bakery in a small village 40 minutes drive from Pemba, which is in the northern part of the country. The village of roughly 6000 has hundreds of orphans due to the AIDS epidemic and years of civil war. We will be building a house for 10 children and the bakery will pay the wages for the care-givers in the orphanage. I'm a self-employed handyman and my wife works at home raising our two daughters. I know that this is a large amount of money to raise, but I believe it can be done and is so necessary for the children of Africa.

I DONT WANNA DIE ON THE STREETS OF LA!

I don't want to get hit by another car in LA!

I just moved to LA from Boston. I wanted to forgo a car by living close to my job and riding my bike!

In 3 short months, I had 2 accidents with cars!

Luckily I wasn't hurt, but I took it as a sign that I
need to be IN a car INSTEAD of being HIT by one to stay alive in LA!

After smashing open my piggy bank and realizing there
was not enough for a car, I decided the best way to
raise funds for a car would be to sell way cool
tshirts expressing my only thought these days: "I
DON'T WANNA DIE ON THE STREETS OF LA!"

Here is my online store.
[ link ]

My plan is not working as well as I hoped. I have only sold 5 shirts.

That is why I am here seeking additional help!

They always say good things happen to those who help themselves.

I am trying on my own but now I am reaching out!

Having searched on craigslist I think I need $4,000 to get a car that won't break down on the highway.

ALSO,I HAVE DECIDED WHEN I GET A CAR IT WILL BE BLACK I WILL HAVE MY LOGO I DONT WANNA DIE ON THE STREETS OF LA PAINTED ON THE SIDE TO MAKE A STATEMENT ABOUT SAFETY ON THE ROADS!

Thanks for your help!

a DESPERATELY needed chance to make art full time

I am an artist concerned with social issues, and make art to educate people and get them active in their communities. Although very, very rewarding, this doesn't earn money to live day to day. Because I need to maintain a job to pay for my art and to pay the rent, I do not have the time to produce any art at all. Now I have an amazing opportunity to launch a new project at a major gallery, yet I have NO TIME at all to make art due to demands from my job, and increasingly cannot balance the two. The clock is ticking, and i only have 11 months left to complete a very intensive piece of art about child labour that will reach high schools all over North America. I am a hard working young lady, and have won many accolaides including a very prestigious award for Most Promising Emerging Artist in Canada. If I could wish for time I would, and that is what these funds would provide me with. My art does not generate any profit as it is not sale-able, so I stand to earn no money from this project at all. I believe very strongly in using my art to affect change in the world, and to raise awareness. My last project, ODE, can be viewed at [ link ] so you can see the quality of my work, and that I am not fooling around. To illustrate my need, I spent over $40,000 of my own money completing and touring my last exhibition. I earned nothing in return except the excitement of meeting new people and sharing ideas with people all over North America. Please, I ask you to see the value of spreading ideas, and the opportunity that time to make art would offer. I have no other resource to turn to, and no idea quite frankly what to do.

I have been forced to live with an unmedicated bipolar mother for the past three months due to being BROKE, and my cat ran away. God damnit if I don't deserve a drunken rampage in Canada filled with comedy clubs, man prostitutes, absinthe, more absinthe, embarrassing situations involving ferrets and pant legs, and nudity so nude that it makes naked people look CLOTHED.

In late October while returning to California from Mexico, I accidentally drove my house off of a cliff just north of La Paz. This was a very severe rollover accident that quite literally destroyed ALL of my worldly goods...complete and total destruction of everything I owned...an instantaneous uninsured loss of over $50,000. not to mention the loss of my full time house and all of my business tools and equipment. As an artist, I have adopted a philosophical outlook. After all, I did live to tell the story...with no broken bones or internal injuries. I did have nearly 500 lacerations and they have healed nicely. Until you have something like this happen to you it is hard to relate to. Think of it as having your house and business burn to the ground...nothing left, simultaneously. On day one you realize you don't have a toothbrush...or toothpaste...or a towel...or literally anything...and, nearly two months later, I am still discovering these missing items of life that we take for granted...daily. I have managed to get a roof over my head...and some minimum quality of life going again, but the money has now run out and, of course, the needs have not. For example, I don't have any long pants...and it is getting cold...even here in Southern California. This experience has been so traumatic for me that I even wrote a short book (60 pages) about my bizarre experience and the resulting experiences that have come with it. If you would like to see a copy of the "book", send a request to info@starmurals.com and I'll send you a PDF copy...it's really quite a read...complete with 37 color photos...obviously too lengthy to include here. If you are so motivated, I would appreciate your vote. I am not seeking money for some frivolous purchase that I could live without...instead, I am seeking some help...a true helping hand, to rebuild my life to a fully functioning level. As you look at the attached picture of the crash site, you will see that it was at least some minor miracle that I lived through this crash. Everything above the floor level was ripped off of this formerly beautiful Class A motorhome...walls, roof, furniture, appliances and of course me. Thanks for reading this...I truly appreciate your vote

24 days and counting for Mission Trip to Nepal & India

In 22 DAYS My husband and I are going on our second mission trip to Nepal and India. We?ll be working alongside nine other team mates with established Vineyard churches in both locations. These churches play a crucial role in their communities by taking in orphans, caring for the sick, feeding and clothing the poor, and offering various other resources to the many people in need.

The Kathmandu Vineyard also supports numerous villages in the Himalayan Mtns. While there, we will be going into the villages to offer medical clinics, leadership training, and to help with any building/carpentry needs that the villagers may have. Last year, we raised money to provide many villagers with wood-burning stoves, and this allowed proper ventilation for the smoke from their cooking fires, which had before simply filled the insides of their homes. The stoves will help reduce the breathing and lung problems that are prevalent in Gadlang (the name of the mountain village).

My husband is a self-employed contractor and in order for us to return to Nepal, we need to raise the money for the trip ($4,500 a piece) as well as money to cover our bills, since he won?t have income while we are gone ($2,500). So far, we?ve been able to raise $5,000 on our own through family and friends. But we still need to raise the rest, so at this point, we are in great need of funds. But if you've looked at our wish before you'll notice the amount we are asking had decreased due to the money we got this past week. And I know it's more than is alloted from ROBINHOOD, but the question it asks is "How much do you need to fulfill your wish?" And I'm assuming that's so people know incase they would like to donate directly. Hope that helps.
