That'll give me a month to refigure some things so that I can budget in more frequent trips. I can afford now to go see him at least once a month, but Emmie and Chandler need more than once a month support. Emmie has family and friends that have been there to support her since the wreck on July 4th, but once they move Chandler to New Orleans today, it's just too far for friends and family to drive on a regular basis. My husband, whom I love with all of my heart, even though he brings me weird, chocolate presents in polkadotted bags during my period..... needs new shoes for work. But, recently, my husband was fired from his job. The rule is, when you get your third write up, you automatically get fired.... he was one minute late and was written up. Then.... the awesome woman who works in the office figured out that he still had a write up left, so technically, he shouldn't have been fired. Totally a mistake on the part of the company. He was asked to come back, then ended up losing his part time job. He asked if there was any way he could be compensated for the time he was off work due to the companys mistake and was told that they do not compensate, but he was allowed to use his vacation days if he wanted to be paid for those days. I would't let him waste his vacation days for something that wasn't his fault........ and now we are behind on our bills. With missing a whole weeks pay, then losing his part time temp job that paid him every week, we are all kinds of screwed up on our bill paying and our budget for at least the next couple of months. We are hoping that everything will straighten out, but for the time being, we had to take out a loan from the cash place to pay rent (we don't know quite yet how we are going to pay that back), we have to let our bills go this month or try to pay just a little bit on them. All of this to let you know, we don't have any extra money in our budget to buy my husband new work shoes. His old ones are falling apart and it was something we had planned on, then everything happened and we just don't have the extra money in our budget right now. Having both had disasterous first marriages they decided not to tell any of their friends and family that they had gotten married. They agreed to wait a year and at the end if things weren't working out each would be free to just walk away from the marriage with no strings attached. He was an entertainer in a Night Club and she was a waitress who already had a 5 year old son. Things weren't easy. They didn't have much money in the beginning. He was away alot chasing his dream and sometimes working three jobs in pursuit of that dream. She had several miscarriages and a still birth and eventually had to have a complete hysterectomy.Their only child ( her son from her previous marriage) had a car accident that cost him his leg and nearly his life and because they had no health insurance it also used up all of their savings. Even with all these challenges things must have worked out because these two wonderful people are my grandparents and they will be celebrating their 58th wedding anniversary this September. My grandfather and grandmother are two very wonderful people and growing up I always thought of them as Lucy and Ricky from I Love Lucy. My grandpa was the dark haired entertainer who was the more serious one and my grandma was the one with the temper and crazy schemes. Both were very influential in my life and practically raised me. My grandfather had several opportunities in his later years to advance his career but he was one who always put his family first and didn't take advantage of them. Every year to celebrate there anniversary they go to Stateline or Laughlin because it is cheaper than going to Vegas. I would love to be able to give them a 100.00 to add to their trip funds so they wouldn't have to worry about Vegas costing so much and could spend their anniversary in the place where they got married.
