That stinks. I hope you are able to get a laptop and continue your education, and best wishes on the new job hunt.
One hint if you lower your wish amount to 100.00 (it is all the site awards per category) you will get better votes. Many down vote if the amount is over 100.00 and you can always add a chip in for the whole amount you need to your wish. Then people can help by donating towards it also if they are able.
