Good luck girl! I hope you find a way to get there. It could really be a life changing experience if you make it on the show. (more)
Wow thanks for the vote and advice
SNAP is just a suppliment, not intended to feed your whole family all month. If you need some inexpensive crock pot recipies or low cost meal ideas, go to the forums and start a thread "looking for low cost meal ideas" or something and you will get lots of suggestions.
I know you can make a full spaghetti, salad and garlic bread meal for all of you for around $10....get GB when its on sale family pack, break up into 1 lb packages, and patty out 10, 4 0z burger patties and freeze flat in parchment paper. Anyway, a can of spaghetti sauce, and, package of noodles are about $1 each, grab a head of lettuce, one carrot and one stock of celery to make a green salad, get a loaf of bread, broil, and top with melted butter and garlic seasoning. That meal wont cost much more than $10 and its good too.
Also check out food banks mix with what you have to come up with tasty meals. Another thing, getting whole body chickens for 69c lb bring the chicken up to about $3.50 add potatoes, carrots, celery, in a $1 store tin roasting tub and get a full roasted chicken and veggies for under $10 (more)
