I hope you get the money for the carseats and coats for the babies--they look so precious! Don't forget to check sources like freecycle and craigslist for baby gear--you may find some for really cheap.
To imagoldengirlnow--Spending $1300 to get a car out of impound really doesn't have anything to do with the value of your car...or, at least it doesn't as far as I know. We have been unfortunate enough to have two vehicles impounded, so I am aware of how it works. See, the car is towed (on your dime) to a tow yard that keeps the vehicle and charges a fee per day. The tow fee PLUS the daily fee (which can be over $100 per day, more on weekends, depending upon the tow yard), adds up fast. Sometimes you have to go to court or get other paperwork before you are even allowed to get the car out of the tow yard, too, so that money is adding up and you can't do anything about it. So I can see how she could have had to pay $1300 to get her car out of impound. (more)
I never got to know any of my grandfathers (all had passed away before I was born), but I sure wish I had. I hope you get to spend as much time as possible with yours--and I hope he has many more healthy years left (paralysis doesn't have to mean that his life is over, as I'm sure you know). I hope you get your wish to go and see him--you would really make his holidays so much brighter, I know. {{{{HUGS}}}} (more)
Good luck and here's my 5! Your wish would probably do a lot better if you lowered your amount to $100 which is the max allowed here. Best wishes. (more)
