Just passing by to say Hi -- am looking for another professor friend here but am glad I came across you! Wishing you all the best -- you're a great writer (love your blog) and you *should* write that book!

On behalf of all the young people (and my hard working hubby), we thank you for your vote of support on that last round. Those kids don't have a friend in the world, so a vote of confidence means everything... Feel free to forward your wishes my way (or others you'd like to call to my attention).
With peace and in kindness,
Karen

I love the CROCS comment. I hate those bloody things. Have you seen Idocracy? It's somewhat amusing. But they all wear crocs. What a crock.

Hey maybe we can go in together, take a vaca in Singapore and get a BOGO deal on stem cell transplants? Think they do discounted transplants for quantity? Hmmm nevermind, discounted transplants sounds like a bad idea. Still crossing my fingers for experimental chemo. Wishing you luck in your quest.
I have never heard of your disease.I read where you won your one wish and that is wonderful. People don't always understand a debilitating disease unless it affects them personally. I have Ms and Lupus and I know the struggles a chronic illness causes in your life. I am Moms caregiver, although somedays I am unable to to anything other than the most basic of care. Still we are blessed as we have each other and are able to enjoy life .Good luck to you.

Oh look, Dorno is here being a whiny little cunt. Big surprise. I think I am going to do a naughty wish to buy him some tampons, because his pussy seems to contstantly be bleeding.

I found myself an icon especially in your honor. Love ya!

I voted a one on your stem cell wish because I feel $100,000 would be better spent helping many people rather then extending one person's life slightly.
Normally I wouldn't post this publicly, but since you seem enjoy berating people in the public sections of the site I felt I'd return the favour.
Hey there! I'm from IOW, and just wanted to shout out to you that I sincerly wish nothing but the best for you.

HAHA, don't worry, Texas isn't the only place you have to dodge secular religious views. The Catholic Church still has a lot of sway up here in Northern Ontario. I'm guessing from comments here that you back the Democrats. I'm probably a little further to the left, myself. Social Democracy is the path of the future.

Liesl, I too have respect for political views of all types. Basically, if someone has the balls to speak their views, I respect that. we will never ever see everyone agreeing on political agendas, nope, not ever. Besides, I was really not upset with you, it is just a sore spot with me, because in my house, Shrub is what the president's name is every time anyone but me speaks of him. It grates on me. Just wait till the tables are turned, if that Hellary B* gets the office, I got loads of good names for that evil. I am glad we can be friends even when we don't agree. And unless I miss my mark, you have many other reasons to be against him, than stem cell research?

I haven't taken any philo courses specifically yet. I'm a poli sci major, o I've covered/am covering Plato's Euthyphro, Apology, and Crito, Aristophanes' Clouds, Aristotle's The Politics, Machiavelli's The Prince, Hobbes' Leviathan, Rouseau's Social Contract, Kant's What is Enlightenment, and Hegel's Reason in History. Not through all of them yet, but getting there. I'll be starting more into the philo side next year.

I have infinite respect for anyone who can successfully make a living out of philosophy! No sarcasm, that is wonderful. Personally I've found Aristotle rather dry. I prefer Plato thus far.

Good Luck.. your family will be in my prayers.
