Safe car seats to transport my grandchildren

Safe car seats to transport my grandchildren

I recently had to dispose of two older car seats when I discovered that they were not only well past the date they were legal to use but also saw they were beginning to come apart from age and much use (I have used them for some of my kids, and grandkids).
The seat I have displayed would do not only the two grandsons who are 4 and 2 years old now and as long as they need them, but would also be useful for other grandchildren or young passengers.

DETAILS OF CHANGE!

After consulting several car seat experts including a car seat tech instructor in our home province, we have come to the conclusion that what we need is a forward facing seat that converts to a booster for the 4 year old. We have chosen the Evenflo Traditions seat which sells for 129.99.

The 2 year old is only about 24-25 lbs and so will still be able to sit rear facing for a little while. For him we will get the Evenflo Triumph seat which allows rear facing until 30lbs and then converts to a forward facing car seat and retails for 149.99. We will also obtain a simple booster for 39.99 for when he is older. and which will be useful for transporting other children until then. , for example my 9 year old grandson who is over the age limit for legally needing the booster but still slightly under the weight limit.

Prices listed above are in CAN$

my grandmother to be cremated!

my grandmother to be cremated!

The last 8 months have been REALLY hard on my family. Mom mom found out that her husband of 18 years has been having an affair with a woman 23 years younger than him. She was so devesated that she tried to slit her own wrist. I had to rush her to the hospital while holding the bandages on her arms. No that she is better she is proceeding with a divorce. In the 6 months that he has been gone he has racked up $80,000 in debt by taking loans out on the home, credit cards and the such. The whole time he has not been giving my mother any support so we have been scraping together everything we have to keep the house, pay attorneys fees and the such. Last week my grandmother passed away SUDDENLY. I found her and did CPR to no avail. She left behind major debt and SEVERAL animals whom I am trying to take care of and adopt out. WE have absolutely no money to cremate her. It costs 789 I have managed to pay $200 toward it but really can't manage more with all the other bills. PLEASE HELP US! We are not even asking for money for services or an urn... Just cremation costs. We even had to transport my grandmothers body in the car to try and cut down on the cost.

Our son Benjamin is having his third open heart surgery in 2 1/2 yrs.
The surgery is scheduled for June 8th. He has a condition called
Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome and is undergoing a series of 3
surgeries in hopes that he will be able to live with his own heart and
not need a transplant. I am making this wish so that my husband and I
and our other two children can stay down in Philadelphia with Ben
during his surgery and recovery. The whole ordeal is estimated at 2
weeks from surgery, as long as there are no complications.

Specifically the money would be used towards the following: lodging,
food, parking @ $3 a day at the children's hospital and also up to $20
a day at a hotel. In addition to staying down in Philadelphia we
would also need to take care of bills at home and the possible
kennelling of our pets. Things have been tight monetarily since Ben
was been born but we wouldn't trade him for the world.....he has
brought such joy to our lives.

I usually don't do this kind of thing, but my friends have told me
that there is no reason that I shouldn't at least try. Hopefully you
will all find it in your hearts to vote for us.

A last and lasting memory with my son.

A last and lasting memory with my son.

Hello, Im Mike and Im a 39 year old man in Florida. After reading some of this wishes in here I feel guilty for asking for anything for anyone, but if you've ever lived with terminal or chronic illness you know how it can totally eliminate what what pride you have left. In a nutshell, I have Parkinso's Plus Syndrome (a form of Parkinson's Disease that attacks the autonomic system as well as the tremor and other things associated with PD) caused by a genetic metabolism disorder. I have fought this for 5 years now, and medication is no longer working. As a result, I have been put on hospice meaning the disease is now in the end stages or "terminal".
Obviously, these diseases can deplete your income. Prior to becoming ill I was a firefighter, and naturally I was not allowed to continue in that job. I lost my job, and therefore my income and more importantly my insuraunce with it.
I have a 6 year old son, Ian, whom naturally, I love very much. He and I are very close and I dont think he fully understands whats going to happen, but he has never seen me anything but sick. He never pushes me to play, demands more of me than he thinks I can do, and misses alot because I cant be like other fathers. He feels if he just doesnt push me Ill be ok.
Ever since he was 3 he , like many children, has had a fascination and love of dinosaurs. One of the few things he and I can do is sit and read and watch tv programs on them together. Once he saw a show on a fossil mine in Utah that allowed the public to visit and find fossils and keep them. He said if I werent sick hed really love to go there, and he constantly watches the show his mother taped on it. I would really love to go there with him so that he can have a memory of me other than in bed sick. While I know 500$ will not completely pay for this, as his mother would have to go to help me manage, it would be big help in making it happen after my things are sold. Its breaking my heart not be able to give him something special with me.
While my wish is important to me like everyone elses is to them, I see others here like the children with cancer who need it more. While I expect and hope you'd vote for them first, please keep us in mind.

Prayers & Hope for Tammy - 2nd Wish

Prayers & Hope for Tammy - 2nd Wish

I am re-submitting this wish after it being suggested to me to do so by a couple of people. Even if the wish does not win - I do hope those who have been so generous to others will make their donations to this family directly to the Fund at the end of this wish. UPDATE: ON May 1, Tammy returned to school! From what I understand it has been great and she walked into her classroom and very cheerfully stated 'Hi everybody!' The one thing that seems to have come from all of this is this previously quite child has really opened up. It sounds like she is as happy to be back as everyone is to have her!

In the wee hours of March 3rd, 2007 there was a tragic house fire in our community . . . . The fire was a result of a domestic dispute between Chau Nguyen and her ex-husband. It is believed that he got upset over talk of Chau wanting to move to NY and of course take the children. At about 4am, Chau woke to a strange noise, the sloshing of gasoline being spread throughout the home. She managed to take one lighter from her ex-husband before fleeing the house for help as he had cut the phone lines!

He proceded to set fire to the house after locking her out of the home. Killing not only himself but Chau's mother, and their 9 yr old son. By some miracle, 8 yr old Tammy survived but was burnt on over 80% of her body with 3rd degree burns to her face and hands.

Barely 48 hours later Tammy was flown to Shrinner's Children's Medical Center in Cinn. Ohio to their pedicatric burn unit. 9 surgeries later Tammy was able to come home on April 19th.

Our school has been collecting soda tabs to donate to Shrinner's, at last count we already collected over 90,000 tabs, and we are also doing a one time aluminum can drive this month. Our Cub Scouts held a bake sale at a local store and we were able to collect just over $1600 to put into the fund that was set up for Tammy.

To Boldly Go Where No One Has Gone Before!

I'm going to remake this wish right off the bat, because this wish is important to me. This will be my 4th attempt, if I don't win out this round, and hopefully my last. Thank you for your continuing support!

I live in North Bay, ON, 360 km away from my parents and siblings. My brother Mark live in Waterloo, and sister Audrey lives in Sudbury, and my brother Thom lives in Ottawa. It has been a long time since we've all been together, and I miss them! Some of my favourite memories therefore are of times when the whole family was together, gathered around the tv with our blankets and a bowl of popcorn, watching Star Trek.
As some of you may have noticed, I am a student of the human condition, and as my post count points out rather dramatically, a "Champion of Justice." I honestly believe that part of who I am was fueled by these aspects of Star Trek: curiosity, a sense of justice, and the eternal quest for self-improvement. This is part of what has made the field of Political Science so interesting to me. I have trouble understanding the way people think, and I want to learn, as well as having a desire to make the world a better place. This mat sound a bit like rambling, but it is how I feel.
As you can see, Star Trek has been more than just entertainment to me, it has been central in my life, and development into the person I am. That is why I am asking for some money to help me along the way to getting the full DVD box set of Star Trek: The Next Generation, the show we watched most as I was growing up.
Unfortunately, I am only a student and therefore have a limited budget, so I've had to make other priorities. You may recall awhile back that I removed my wish for a laptop computer to help with my schoolwork, as I am autistic, because I managed to pull together the funds out of my own budget. This hasn't left me with much for entertainment. The full price of the DVDs is around $400, but I'd rather not eat up such a large amount of the naughty fund.
So I ask you, please, make it so!

I am jist a simple Southerner, so I ain't fer sure what all this here 'shoe-wearin' stuff is all about, but my friend (and your'n) Deb_vt needs to put shoes on her young'uns fer school. They is nice lookin young'uns, with the regulation number of fingers an toes, and from what I unnerstan' it gits mighty cold up thar, so in order to KEEP them toes, these girls need shoes.

Us folks down South only got to wear shoes to th' church house for marryin's and buryin's--and to th' County Seat to th' Courthouse to bail out Grammaw fer moonshinin'. (Again.) Bu I heered that up North they got this stuff called "SNOW" what is s'posed to be like that ice they use fer SnoCones, only even littelr, and it STAYS FROZE!! And that kin hurt yer FEETS somethin' turribul!! (I done walk't across the floor of th' frozen food locker down to th' deer plant once, and dang near lost a pinkie toe. Think on havin' that on th' ground fer MONTHS!!)

Now, if'n Deb's girls are to win this here wish, and if'n there happens to be sum money left after puttin shoes on 'em, they Mama has promised to spend th' rest of in on sum sox, er some underdrawers, er sumthin' vital for either eddycashun er HiGene purposes. You know how it is, when they become Young Ladies, it jist ain't fittin' that they go barefoot evverwhere alla time. You don't never know when there'll be sum foot fetishy kinda feller around, and she cain't have none of them followin' them girls home, becuz they's Northeners, and they most likely don't got no shotgun aside th' door in case of revenoors or other gub'mint offishuls comin' by, so getin' rid of a prevert might be difficult, too!!

Please, y'all, this here Mama needs to shoe them children, and they got some mighty powerful other expenses goin' on at the moment. It would be a downright shame if'n one of them got th' hot&cold runnin' epizootics from goin' to school barefoot, and even worse if they got some toes froze off (although my cousin Melvin got him 7 toes on one foot and he'd most likely share).

Remember, vote high and vote often. Support the right of feet to not be bare!! Th' picksher on here ain't her children, they be Melvin's wifes Mama's children. We chose sum with the normal amount of toes. It wuz hard.)
