Hi,
My name is Danielle and I'm the mom of an 11 year old boy named Jamie who is non verbal and has Autism. My wish is to purchase a special three wheeled bicycle for him.

Autism causes him to have problems with motor planning and coordination and he is unable to ride a regular bike. He needs the stability of three wheels and the support of a bucket seat in order to be able to learn how to ride. For most kids learning to ride a bike is a rite of passage. Because of his disability Jamie has been denied what next to driving a car is a big milestone in most childrens lives and believe me driving is something he won't be doing.

He has a younger brother and sister who both have bikes and I see him watch them with longing when they are out riding in the driveway. He has tried riding their bicycles but is unable to coordinate the movement of his legs and balance at the same time. He has also tried to ride tricycles but at nearly 5 feet tall he is much too big for them and can only scoot along.
Recently we had to put him on medication because he has become very aggressive. The medication thankfully is working however it has caused him to gain 20 pounds in two months time. In addition to providing him with a fun leisure activity a bike will also help him to keep his weight down since he isn't able to participate in a lot of sports activities that most kids participate in.
*****Update*****
I have recieved some money toward the purchase of this bike raised thru a challenge on another site,when someone found out I was trying to get a bike thru here. I did not withdraw my wish however as the cost of the bike is 379.99 plus tax ,shipping and 29.99 for a bucket seat bringing the cost to well over 500.00 more than I recieved there.

This all took place over the weekend I have emailed the RH site asking what I should do and if I did withdraw my wish what would happen to the donations which were made by friends of mine. I have been waiting for their response.

Until now getting a bike for Jamie had been nothing more than a dream so I had not researched the additional costs.
I have changed my original amount needed to included what I still need to cover these extra costs and money already donated. Thanx

My husband is in the army at the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault). Fort Campbell in Kentucky. He is being deployed to Baghdad for 15 months in September. He has vacation time coming up in July. We were wanting to go to FL but wont have the money so I was thinking about Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom [ link ]

If we get to go that will be the last time my kids will get to do something like that with their
daddy before he leaves for Iraq. We were wanting to do something as a family and I was thinking this would be something that wouldn't cost a lot of money . It would only be for one day. I just want their last thing they get to do before he leaves to be fun. The money would be for getting in and eating.

Tata got a barbie bike for her birthday party on this past Sunday, she was to happy. Shes been asking for one since last year. Kearstyn started crying because she didnt know Taylor got one and she didnt. Keartyn still wants a bike shes had the same bike since she was two years old She is five now . Keartstn wants a bratz bike .The pic is of the britz bike for walmart that is her fav thing right now. She has been getting the britz dolls for christmas for about 2 years now. I just want them both to be happy and not be fighting because one got something that the other didn't . As a mother you will try everything in your power to make your kids happy and thats what I'm trying to do. This is my 3rd try, I am only asking for for $100.00 just to get some supplies for my crafts.

My wish is to start a small business, so that my husband can take a break and enjoy life and our daughters. He works so hard all week and hardly ever gets to see our girls. He works night shift and is barely making over minimum wage. I told him that I would like to get a part time job to help with bills, but he doesnt want me to. He said that it would not pay for me to work and then have to turn around and pay all of what I would make to a sitter. It does make sense though. I just want to contribute to our family. I would like to buy nice things for my girls and my husband. They never seem to get anything. When he gets paid, we pay bills, get neccesities and we are about broke. Then we have to stretch the rest for gas for the next two weeks.

I just want to start a little business out of our home doing crafts. I have made a few things for different people and they keep telling me how great a job I do; and that I should start my own business. I reply to that with "You have to have money to do that, and I dont have it!" This would mean so much to me to get this money, just enough to buy some supplies so that I can get started!! I would feel like a better mother and wife, as for now I dont feel like a very good one! So, Please can I have your vote?? I will kindly vote for whomever votes for me. Thank you so Much!! Mia

I have been told that I could make it doing this and I want to do something for my family, besides be a mommy and a wife. I want to feel like I am contributing. Which I dont feel like I am now. I have faith that if I can get on my feet with this that I can really make something of myself and prove to the rest of my family that I can do ANYTHING!!! So, please will someone help me?
