I know that we are in Australia, but we bought a car 2 yrs ago and have had nothing but trouble with it. We have spent hundreds on it and it is still not fixed. We can't sell it to someone because that would be dishonest knowing it has major problems. Now it is off the road again, and my Husband needs it to get to work and he has to leave home at 4am in the mornings. I am only asking for the money for the parts as he has a friend who is a mechanic who can do the work..but I want to surprise him so he doesn't have to leave early on the cold mornings here to get the train and bus. 8th Try~ Things for my baby girl

I am currently 39 weeks pregnant. I just went to the dr and he told me that he couldnt deliver me right now and sent me to a blood specialist. Apparently my platelets are REALLY low 73 instead of the 140 to 400 they are suposed to be. Because I have to have a Csection the risk of my bleeding to death is a HUGE concern..so Im off for a transfusion or 10. I am nervous because they sent me to an oncologist for my blood but they assured me I dont have cancer THANK GOD!!!

If all goes well my doctor will deliver in 2 more weeks (He will have too I will be 40 weeks). So I am really getting nervous. I am still in need of onesies, sleepers, outfits, socks ( I didnt think of socks) a snowsuit, receiving blankets, bassinet sheets, crib sheets, diapers, wipes, lotions, baby bath.

Here is the rest of my story for those who dont know it.

Although I am only 22 years old I have had a rough life, but because of it have been able to overcome many of life's struggles. I lost my own mother when I was but 2 years old and was sent to foster care system where I lived being shuffled around until the age of 18. Since I had never experienced a stable family I allowed myself to become involved with a man who said he loved me..but love shouldnt hurt. He beat me many many times and I stayed because I thought that he was all life had to offer. After leaving I found out I was pregnant and he convinced me to come back. I believed that I could change him, but when he beat me severely although I am 8 months pregnant, I made a run for it. I am now living with a friend trying to get into housing of my own. I was diagnosed as RH negative and put on bed rest. That means I cant work until after the baby is born. As of right now I know that she is a girl, but I have nothing for her. I have nothing for her to sleep in, no clothes, not even bottles or the bare necessities. Please help me give my baby a fighting chance in the world. I want to make life better for her....she is my legacy....

There's been an ongoing effort in the forum to ensure that members' kids have a nice Christmas. It's called the RHF Angel Tree, and so far they've adopted out over 60 kids! There are nine children left on the current list, plus there are more waiting for a third round. I'd like to adopt at least two more of the kiddos and make sure that they have some presents to open on Christmas morning. Unfortunately my personal pocketbook won't stretch that far, so I'm making this wish.

If you can help by adopting one or more of the kids from the angel tree, please email the RHF elves at rhf_angel_tree@yahoo.com. Don't be shy! They can answer your questions and get you set up with a family who will be extremely grateful for your kindness. At this time the Angel Tree is not accepting new kids, since they've had some who've been waiting for a while.

A working camera for my business

12th TRY A LARGER HOME FOR THE CRABS

This is getting kinda cramped now, I have had all of the crabs molt since I started wishing! That means they are getting a lot bigger....we are ditching the adopting more and focusing on getting larger crabitat for them at this point!

HI! I got hermit crabs for my 6 yr old son. We started with 2 and somehow adopted 8 more. We have come to really love these guys. I have 2 10g tanks with 5 crabs each. I am in desperate need of a 20+ gallon tank for the 10 crabs we have now. Originally we were adopting additional crabs, but since we have had ALL of the crabs molt (6 of them multiple times) they are just getting BIG. They need more room to grow! Cards and Support for a Critically Ill 13 yr old & her Mom

2nd try. Thanks to you who helped 1st round!

This past Thanksgiving Day when I went to work, I found out that one of my coworkers had called earlier in the morning saying she could not be at work because her 13 yr old daughter was being rushed by ambulance from one hospital to another with a brain tumor.
It was a total shock as I'd not heard anything about Desiree having so much as a cold and I am very close with both Desiree and her mother Kathy. Kathy had noticed that Desiree lost almost all of her vision in a matter of 3-4 weeks. After a CAT scan at a local hospital,she was immediately rushed to Childrens Healthcare in Atlanta. The egg sized tumor is sitting on her optic nerve.

Desiree was scheduled to have surgery on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving with little hope she would ever see again. Literally, at the last minute blood tests showed that her pituitary gland was overactive and her thyroid barely functioning. She was put on prednisone and other hormones and they gave her a week to see if the tumor would shrink. Doctors saw her Monday and said the tumor had reduced marginally, her thyroid was doing better but they still did not like the CAT scan results. She will have an MRI either this Friday or on the 28th and if the tumor is not showing significant reduction, they will operate. Right now Desiree is essentially blind and is having horrible headaches

Kathy is not only struggling emotionally (she is one tough cookie) but financially now as well. She has no family to speak of, is a single parent and earns her living as a waitress. Desiree is home schooled so they have no one but us at the park. Kathy has been unable to work since she has to stay with Desiree 24/7 and her leave is about to run out. She needs the blower in her car repaired so she has heat in the car while driving the weekly 100+ miles trips to the hospital. Her health insurance runs out on 1/1/08 and cant be renewed.

I'd like to do more to help myself (I've done all I can and still keep trying)but I dont make much money and have huge medical expense myself as I face some medical issues. In light of that I'd like to ask you if you might find time to send a card, prayer, or whatever you might like to send them. (more)

Child's Right and Rehabilitation Network (CRARN) is a charity organisation with a firm belief in, and intent on safeguarding the rights of a child. It was founded in 2003 with a view to reducing the alarming rate of street and abandoned children and to ensure their rehabilitation, including other vulnerable children, particularly in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria.

In September I will likely be attending this pirate festival [ link ] I will need appropriate clothing. The blouse and pants I need will be fairly simple to make but a corset or waist cincher is much more complicated a project. I have no experience making such a piece and will likely not have the time seeing as I have several other projects on the go at the moment.

This one, is reasonably priced for what it is and looks like something a fearsome pirate might wear. [ link ] It even has rings on the side that I could use to carry my set of shakles in case I come upon a promising looking slave to train to swab my decks.

I have a number of the series 1 "good guys" already on display at work, but this great villian would be a great addition to my collection.
