Two Convertible Carseats for J&L's Mom

This wish is for another RHF member, J&L's Mom. Mom. I've watched her repost this wish for many weeks, and it's breaking me up that she's not getting anywhere.

J&L's Mom has young twins who are outgrowing their infant carseats. She needs two new 5-point harness convertible carseats in order to keep her babies safe in the car and to comply with the law. She has looked into her local resources for free carseats but has gotten nowhere.

Several certified carseat technicians have recommended the Cosco Scenera (pictured) as a good and affordable convertible seat. The Scenera will hold a child rear-facing until he is 35 pounds, and forward-facing until 40 pounds. The high weight limit for rear-facing makes this seat even more appealing as rear-facing is much safer, especially for babies. The Scenera is currently $40 at WalMart.

We received a $10 donation a couple of weeks ago, so I'm asking for the remaining $70. Please help me make this wish a reality! Thank you. (more)

Prayers for my grandfather

If you pray, please do so for my grandfather. He has cancer and has been given 30 days without treatment. He decided to do treatment and is now undergoing chemo and radiation at the same time.

He and my grandmother are both retired and are having to travel 57 miles daily for treatments.

All I want is a 4 inch square of your favorite fabric.

If you send one square, I will include it in a quilt that I am making.

I am new at it and making my first one by hand, but I really enjoy it. Since I have just started, my fabric stash is very slim, but with your help I can continue to quilt.

I wished in the past for money or 4 inch squares, but there are really more important wishes taking the lead, so instead of the money, the squares are what I really want.

No this is not a NEED, but I put it in the nice category because it has nothing to do with a date, bedroom "supplies", or anything like that.

Yes, it is a want, and I will live without it, but if all of you could just mail one square, I could stay busy for quite a while.

A headstone for My Grandson

I am putting in my wish again.I am trying to help raise the money for a headstone for my grandson who passed away at birth.As some of you may know you cant get insurance on an unborn child.Like life insurance.My daughter was 8 months pregnant with my grandbaby when he was pronounced still born.the umbilicial cord was wrapped around him.As I sit here and talk or rather type this out I am in tears.The pain and heartbreak of loosing my grandson is unbearable.My grandsons father turned his back on my grandbaby and daughter when she was pregnant with him.He was not there for her,at the hospital nor the funeral.When he visit Kaidens grave,all we can do is put flowers in the ground for him.He doesnt have a head stone,a flower vase or anything.It would be so nice to visit Kaiden and take him flowers and have somewhere to put his flowers in.During the mowing season we cant leave anything in the ground for him,because the mowers have to mow.With a headstone and a vase we would not have to worry about this.I really appreciate each and everyone of you that can help out.Thank You and God Bless (more)

I dont need a dime, I am only asking for you to make a positive comment at the link I give you below after reading/hearing the story. Please click on the link and post positive comments. The Mayor says if enough people are for this, he will change the street name in honor of Corporal Lorne Henry Jr. His family has lived on this street for his entire childhood and I believe a street name change would be a "small sacrafice" for the community of Niagra Falls. Please help me make this happen for this family. My good friend is his step-brother and this is why I am asking. They have already dealt with a horrible loss, I dont want them to have to fight city council. Every comment COUNTS.

Single dad of three awesome kids, looking to give them all I can. With your help I can. I work full time with the county school system, bus driver/mechanic. I am a sunday school teacher and I coach my daughters soccer teams. We do pretty good on our own,usally. But sometimes things get tight and we need help. My 2.5 year old daughter has just about outgrown her car seat by height, and most car seats I can find. She is definately not mature enough to use a booster seat. I can't afford to get her a new seat since I am only babysitting bringing in $75 per week. The following video shows the danger of using a booster seat to early. (more)

Magic for a 13 yr old w/brain tumor

This past Thanksgiving Day when I went to work, I found out that one of my coworkers had called earlier in the morning saying she could not be at work because her 13 yr old daughter was being rushed by ambulance from one hospital to another with a brain tumor. After a CAT scan at a local hospital,she was immediately rushed to Childrens Healthcare in Atlanta. The egg sized tumor is sitting on her optic nerve and Desiree has become almost blind.

In the meantime, Kathy is not only struggling emotionally ( and she is one tough cookie) but financially now as well. She has no family to speak of, is a single parent ( Desiree's father shows no interest in his ex wife or daughte r) and earns her living as a waitress at the state park where we work. Desiree is home schooled and so essentially they have no one but us at the park. Kathy has been unable to work since she has to stay with Desiree 24/7.
I mostly would like to see people send her get well cards so that she keeps her spirit up and keeps fighting. Kathy needs help to, and cards for her or a gift card for groceries or gas would be a HUGE help to her. Kathy has never made much money but I have seen her give of what she has to so many people in the past and now it is her turn. Won't you help? We should know very soon how the doctors are going to proceed and what can be done for her. Will be glad to provide updates. *** I dont have a video camera so no Youtube. bed for daughter instead of 3 on an air mattress

I live in a home with my fiances parents who are both disabled one who is bed ridden fighting for his life with ALS. They have a mortgage of over$2000 a month and their only income is social security. Me and my fiance live in their basement to help them with their bills. I share an air mattress with m fiance and 2 year old daughter. This is not only uncomfortable but very dangerous. I cannot sleep on the floor because it happens to be concrete. I have tried craigslist and freecycle dot com and cannot find anything. I have no money to pay for this without us falling behind in the mortgage or another bill because beds are so expensive. So we all live paycheck to paycheck So i would really like to purchase a bed for my daughter for her safety wheather it be new or used . That would be a wonderful wonderful gift ... (more)
