Ok guys, this may seem like a silly wish but it is not there is no running water in the tub or the sink and by the time you carry water from the kitchen in a 5 gallon bucket the water is cold. This house is like 65 years old and my grampa and his sons built it from whatever boards they could find, the wind just whips through the walls and windows. My Uncle will be 82 Feb 14th and this is his home please help me make it a better place for him to live.

A dream come true for my wonderful wife, an aspiring singer!

My wife Ieshia is a wonderful mother & wife... e... We have been married for almost 4 years now. We have 3 kids ages 3yrs, 2yrs and 2 months. Ieshia is very talented she sings, dances, writes poem, writes her own songs, teach, designs websites and more! The talent that she posses is to much to type. Her dream is to become a professional singer and rapper in the hip hop & r&b entertainment industry. She and her mom shared this same dream but her mom died just a few days after her 7th birthday.. so her mom didn't even get a chance to come close to realizing her dream! She is the only child and her dad has been in prison since she was four years old and she's now 22 yrs old. Her grandmother raised her after her mother's passing and her grandmother passed away 2 days after her 18th birthday on the day of her birthday party and her grandmother's funeral was on the same day as her prom... My wife has no sisters, brother, aunts, or uncles only cousins in her family and only 25 family members total. In Jan of 2005 my wife and I claimed that year as our season of blesings but in August hurricane Katrina graced our new orleans home and we lost everything we owned my wife had a album getting ready to come out, poster designed etc. But everything was destroyed in the katrina water even our master copies of her music, posters, album cover etc. On top of all this we were stuck in the New Orleans convention center for 4 days with little to no food, water or protection.. we had to run from gunshots with our kids constantly and could not sleep. My wife has rewritten her songs and also added a poem about what we went through in Katrina.... We have no music for her songs, no publicist, no money for studio time, no equipment as we had before to boost her career. We know what we need to buy and where we want to buy the equipment we just don't have the money... The website is [ link ] We need a keyboard, a wireless microphone, headset microphone, portable recording studio, midi cable, blank cd, cd jewel cases, cd duplicator (ebay.com) and gloss paper (officedepot.com) to print flyers etc ... Money to build a home for street kids in Kathmandu.

Money to build a home for street kids in Kathmandu.

  • By: Maggie Namjou

  • Wish Points: 396.51

My wish is to raise money to build a permanent house for former street kids I founded in Kathmandu in 1997, Aastha House or House of Hope. I need approx. $200,000 to build the home. Our current home houses 21 kids, and we hope to build a home to house up to 60 boys and girls who formerly lived on the streets of Kathmandu.
Here are ways you can help make this wish come true:
1. Give me a vote of confidence! All proceeds go to the building fund for Aastha House, House of Hope in Kathmandu, Nepal.
2. Donate right here! Just click on "Donate". This is the most convenient way, and all donations, no matter how much, are welcome. The cost of one Grande Latte at Starbucks can change a child's life.
3. Donate directly to my foundation by cheque. Send donations to: The Rising Child Nepal Foundation, 29 Taft Corners, PMB #131, Williston, Vermont 05465 c/o Maggie Namjou. All donations are tax deductible. I set up this foundation just to raise money to build our home.
4. Buy the Aastha House Project book at [ link ] All proceeds go to my home for kids and the work of documentary photographer Naomi Johnson with impoverished youth around the world.

Volunteer! Please contact me for further info, you can read our current Australian volunteer Laura's blog on her work at Aastha House and travels around Nepal at www.namaste-nepal.blogspot.com. We have had volunteers from the USA, Australia, New Zealand and all over the EU. Laura describes Aastha House in her blog as "endorphin central", as the kids are so happy and truly appreciate their new lives off the streets! Most volunteers have found me through word of mouth. I get emails daily from around the globe of someone who had been to my home for street kids!

I take no salary for this work, and it is an all volunteer organization except for my loyal houseparents who live with the children at Aastha House. You can be assured all of your money goes totally to the building fund. You are welcome to write me, read my website, talk to past volunteers or come visit us in Nepal!

Thanks,
Maggie (less)

My lovely roomate Kenny is an avid snowboarder who has never seen the mountains. We live in Saskatoon, and he has become a very skilled rider practicing on a mountain made of garbage-yes garbage, which is the only local hill (it's pretty flat here as i am certain you can imagine! A garbage mountain is a pretty decent solution around here). We work together, where i see him work very hard day in and day out cooking food at a restaurant. He rarely gets a day off, and when he does, if he can afford it, his time is dedicated to snowboarding. He is one of the loveliest, kindest people I know, and he has a smile and a giggle for everyone. Please vote for sweet Kenny, who will likely take his father if he wins!

Now that I have a bit more free time on my hands, (having lost my very demanding job-see my granted wish story in the 'blog' section of this website for a bit of history), I would really enjoy and benefit from a weekly Japanese class. It would get me out of the studio, increase my knowledge of the world, help me meet like-minded people, and make travelling easier! It is taught at the local University, and lasts eight weeks. The class is two hours a week, and will not cut drastically into my art making time. Plus, it will have the added benefit of making the message of my art easier to spread! Thanks for your consideration! If you would like to see my art, namely my last project, visit [ link ] my new project has no website yet, but the focus is to educate teens about sweatshops and different cultures, and launches January 2008.

We need to pay the post-production which costs 5000 dollars. He has been waiting for nearly 26 years to make his own jazz CD and now I wish to make his dream come true because I believe he is has an amazing talent and he works harder than anyone I know. I'm his number one fan. ONE FOR TWO!. If you love music, jazz and art, you must check this link, read what people say, and listen his music:

I have been snowboarding for 11 years, and I have not snowboarded outside of Ontario. My life and my family's life revolves around snowboarding. I work at my local "ski" hill, in the rental shop, and teaching as an instructor, my younger brother does the same thing, and my 6 year old brother just got on a board last season. I worked at my ski hill all summer while it functioned as a golf course so that I could buy new camera equipment for this winter. I finally got my new camera, and we have been trying to film as much as possible despite the 4 weeks of rain we got at the end of december and the begginning of Janury. Hopefully I am a deserving candidate, and I hope you enjoy or videos...

Since last July, I have been in a wheelchair, and it looks like that is going to be permanent. I have left my house only for medical appointments since July. In fact, I haven't left my house at all since December 5th, 2006, and always with someone else. I have been unable to work and am on disability insurance, which at the moment is barely covering my medical bills.

I would really like to spend a night in Boston and visit the Boston Museum of Science by myself. I live about an hour from Boston, so it's fairly local. The hotel room would cost about $300, and the museum tickets another $25. Add incidentals (food, the gas from here to Boston and back, etc.), and you get the $450 that I figure I'd need.

You may be thinking, if I can't even work, how can I go to a museum? That's why I would need to stay in Boston; my medication makes it impossible for me to get through the day without rest. But I could go to the museum in the morning, check into the hotel in the afternoon and take a nap, and return to the museum for the evening and perhaps the next day. I could also go swimming at the hotel, which would be heavenly.

I used to travel a lot. I have crossed the country three times on Greyhound buses, from Boston to Las Vegas and back; and that was after I got hurt. But then I was able to get by with a cane, and now I can't. I haven't been anywhere outside my hometown since I moved to a walker about two years ago, and I'm going stir-crazy. I love my parents dearly, but if I spend much longer cooped up in our house with them, I might go nuts. It's a selfish wish, but please help make it come true!

So I'm the mother of two small children, and we're on a TIGHT budget. The last time I bought new clothes was....ummm....two years ago? Before I got pregnant??!!? (Do $3.00 t-shirts from Wal-mart count as clothes shopping?)
*sigh*
I don't want a fancy-schmancy new wardrobe. I just need enough money to get some stuff from the Good Will.
Oh, and that's not my child in the video. I just think it's incredibly funny.

What would I do with $30?
1. Booze: Become belligerently drunk and harass him
2. Caffeine: Become exceedingly hyper and harass him.
3. Spend it on food: Become satiated and come harass him.

a Jacobson Photographic Instruments lens tube, please

What is a Jacobson Photographic Instruments Lens Tube you may ask? A very fundamental part of any on-set photographer's arsenal.
Jacobson is known industry wide for their sound blimps. A sound blimp is a device stills photographers use to eliminate the shutter sound from their cameras in an audio sensitive environment. Imagine watching 'Real Genius', 'Short Circuit', or 'Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure' and hearing the distinct sound of a Nikon F3HP (the professional camera of that era) overpowering the talented actors. The sound blimp was designed for just such a purpose.

As of two days ago I have become the proud owner of a Jacobson Photographic Instruments blimp. Unfortunately, as with any camera related purchase, it does not stop there. The blimp simply houses the camera and features a hole for the lens to protrude out from. To ensure a complete seal the lens must also be housed.

This, my friends, is where the Jacobson Photographic Instruments lens tube is needed.
Crafted out of a strong aluminum alloy the lens tube completely seals the camera inside, keeping the rain and dust out, while also keeping the sound in.

The picture is of the blimp now. A happy blimp is shown here: [ link ]

The wish is for one (1) Jacobson Photographic Instruments lens tube, estimated shipping and importing costs. If there is any extra money it will go straight into the 'take a better stranded nevada hooker photo' contest, or a Robin hood craft.

Please help me make my blimp a happy one.

And remember, have your pets spayed or neutered.

Something nice for my husbands aunt and uncle..

I would wish for something such as a WalMart shopping card , a gift card for gasoline etc. for my husbands aunt and uncle. They are older and disabled , both are in wheel chairs. Both are diabetic and are struggling monthly to obtain meds , diabetic supplies etc. Their only son (Only child period) really takes care of them , but there are a lot of things he struggles to get them. They have led a pretty tough life. Lost their home and belongings to a fire a few years back. Was able to somewhat rebuild. But the "builder" took advantage of them and took quite a bit of their money with not much to show in return. This "rebuilt" place is starting to come apart at the seams so it seems. Needs painting , etc. They are very kind and very , very generous. Like when my dad passed away , they donated their time and quite a bit of their own food and cooked all night long. Just so that my mom wouldn't have too. They pulled together so much , there was so much left over it was unreal. But it meant a lot then and still does that here they are struggling and they thought of my mom in our time of grief. And then recently my husband lost his job as a truck driver. And the first thing they done , was collected cash and food to make sure we had enough to get by until unemployment came through. And if this wish is chosen , I would love to repay them for their kindness as well as generosities. These people are the best , and they do not even know it... They are down to earth , humble and deserve this wish and so much more.. So if you can find it in your hearts to assist in making this wish come true. It would be greatly appreciated. With their health conditions we cannot really expect them to be with us for a long time , but would like to try and make their lives a little easier. And with them being on a fixed income , sometimes getting clothing , household items and so on is difficult. So with a gift card to WalMart , they could get their wants as well as needs taken care of. Or with a gas card , they could take the money they would have spent on gas and use it towards other needs. Even cash to help assist with their light bill or gas bill. Again , they are two of the greatest and sweetest people. And they deserve some happiness..

I have Multiple Sclerosis and my wish is that I am able to be more independent by having a semi-permanent rapmp installed on my house and a ramp for our van. If I get these, I can actually use my own scooter instead of waiting for one at the store to recharge or wait for someone to bring one back to the front of the store. If I wait for the Medicare laws to change, I'll be waiting forever. To not help the disabled have ramps to imprison us in our homes and depend on others to do what we still can. I would appreciate this help SOOO MUCH! Thank you and God Bless.

Help me to help myself..cake decorating things needed

Help me to help myself..cake decorating things needed

Before I became unable to work full time ,I owned a small but busy catering business. As my disability does not stretch to cover many things, seems I am always in need of something I cannot get, aren't most of us in that same boat? Like a tune up on the van, medicine and a decent chair for my Mom to set in. While in the catering business,I also did the wedding/shower/birthday cakes. I can decorate the cakes while mostly sitting. The area I currently live in does not have anyone who bakes and decorates cakes. I still have many of my items, like pans, and cooling racks but somewhere in the moves I have lost a few items that are essential to doing this as a source of income. One of these is a spatula and the other are the decorating bags and tips. Wilton company has all these items for $29.99. If I had these things,I could generate enough extra that my Mom and I could get the things we are in need of. I might even make enough to be able to donate to some of the worthy wishes I see here. Thank you for reading and considering my wish.
