Elijah was born with Jeunes syndrome (a dwarfism of the rib cage). He couldn't breath and during his first few weeks of life his parents had to endure watching their baby code on more than one occassion due to lack of oxygen from respiratory infections and lack of space for his lungs to expand. He spent his first yr. eating through a GI tube in his belly and at 1 1/2 he only weighed 18-19 lbs. He was approved to have a surgery done called the Titanium Rib Project but the surgery is very expensive and all of his hospital visits battling the many respiratory infections during his 1st yr. of life has put the family into major debt. Due to the cold weather here in Iowa the family was forced to relocate to San Antonio closer to the hospital where Elijah's surgeries would be done. His father had to relocate within his job and drop his position of seniority and start from the bottom. When they got to Texas everything fell apart. They were left broke, His father's work didn't need him so it was months before he was able to return to work. Now they are barely meeting their needs, Elijah had his first surgery in March of 2007 at only 1 1/2 yrs. old and is scheduled to have his 2nd surgery sometime in the upcoming months between September and December. His next visit to check his progress is Scheduled for Spetember. He will have to endure surgeries every 3-6 months until he is done growing (well into his teen years). Please help Elijah breath and help his family survive with all of the raising medical costs. All of your votes and prayers are very much appreciated! Thank you to all who respond...

We are on Good Morning America this morning - [ link ]

Thanks to generous donations since January of 2007, the Kyle David Miller Foundation has been able to donate over 200 children's car seats to families in need across America. Thank you!

You have also know that we have already assisted one RHF member - Dreamy01 - and donated a Regent to her grandson to keep him safe. We have donations for other members in the works.

We currently have 380 children on our waiting list who are in danger every moment they are on the roads in their parents' vehicles. Please help us to help them by donating anything you can to the foundation here [ link ] - all donations are tax-free and go directly to purchasing car seats. You can use either PayPal or Credit Card to donate.

All foundation members volunteer their time free of charge so that all money goes directly to purchasing these car seats.

Please keep these children safe on the roads in a 5 point harness car seat that is correctly installed and correctly used.

95% of all children's car seats are incorrectly installed or used - is yours? Make an appointment to have your car seat checked by a professional - this is a FREE service. You can locate your nearest technician by going to:

Keep children REAR-FACING in their seats for as long as poss

A child who is forward-facing in their car seat when in a crash can have their skull literally ripped off their spinal chord. Do you I have your attention?

Because a child's head is disproportinally heavier than the rest of their body and their spine has not totally fused until they are 3 or 4 years old, the spine is stretched too much and they can be paralyzed in a crash - or worse KILLED.

The minimum for turning a child forward-facing is 1 year old and 20 lbs. This is the MINIMUM. It is safest for your child to keep them REAR-FACING for as long as possible - to the MAXIMUM weight and height of their convertible car seat - this is between 30 and 35lbs (depending on the car seat).

Please check out our webpage on why REAR-FACING is the SAFEST option for your child - [ link ]/pages/4209/Car_Seat_Safety:_Rear-facing_is_safest.htm' target='_blank'>link ]

Make sure your car seat is correctly installed and you are using it correctly. A rear-facing seat's harness should be AT or BELOW your child's shoulders.

The $100 will go to the Kyle David Miller Foundation - [ link ] - we donate children's car seats to families in need.

Did you know that 95% of all car seats are installed or used incorrectly? That's right! So even though you may think your child is protected, they could still be injured in an accident if your seat is not installed or used correctly.

Please make an appointment with your nearest Child Passenger Safety Technician to have your installation checked out and receive education on how to install and use your seat. This is a FREE service!

You can find your nearest tech by going to:
