On Wednesday, December 26th, in my hometown, under the stars, and by the glistenning snow on the frozen lake, I asked the love of my life to marry me. I told her that I was so happy she would be spending Christmas with my family and I, and that there was only 1 more thing needed to make it perfect, to which she innocently replied, "poutine?"
I laughed, and shook my head no as I knelt in front of her, holding up the ring.
For the past year and a half, Ellen and I have been collecting up pennies, nickels, twoonies, what have you in a great big pickle jar. The sum of this money is what we have so far for the wedding fund. Of course, we'll be figuring out how to raise fund. We've tallied it up, and it's a pretty good start, but hey, every little bit helps, right?
We're still figuring out what we want the wedding to be, but I'd like to have the money to give my Ellen a day to remember. And I know, money doesn't buy happy memories, but it sure helps!

I have my own personal zoo at home (two dogs, two cats, five rats, three kids and a husband), but I'd like to see wild animals other than the ones I live with. I can get a one year membership to the Audubon Zoo for $125.00 [ link ] This one time fee will cover my entire household. My poor kids are stuck at home Monday through Friday with nothing to do because David and I both work full-time. They always want to go places on the weekends, but it's just too expensive. This membership will enable us to go anytime we want and it will only cost us the gas to get there and concessions. And they will never get bored with it. A little extra gas money for our family vacation!

We're going on our first ever family vacation!! We're leaving June 7th and driving approximately 10-12 hours away to the Smoky Mountains. We are renting a cabin since it will accomodate all of us (not to mention it's cheaper than two hotel rooms!). There are six of us and we don't all fit in our Jeep, so we will be renting a minivan.

We all know how expensive gas has become so I decided to take a chance and post a wish.

Although this isn't a "real" wish, I'm hoping I can get and maybe stay on to the front page. ront page. Not because I have grand aspirations to be the queen of popularity, but because what I'm trying to say is coming directly from my heart.

This is a wish site. But it's so much more than that. It's a place where I have come and through trial by fire, been accepted and loved by so many of you. With my trials and tribulations of late, I came to a very "Zen-like" state of awareness and consciousness. There is love in this world, even if it's hard to see. There are people who will love and support you, even if you feel alone and small and scared in this vast world.

My Christmas wish to each and every member of this site is to to see the light and the love within yourselves and let it inspire and touch those around you. We are small, yet we are mighty. The smallest flame from a struck match can light torches to be seen the world over.

Hey everyone! I am doing this to hopefully fulfill my dream of swimming with dolphins. Now you are probably asking yourself, "Why should I vote for her?".... well let me tell you a little bit of why you should. I am a 25 year old CANCER survivor! My battle with Hodgkin's Lymphoma started in March of 2006 and is still ongoing. I just finished chemotherapy for the 4th time in May. For the past two years my life has consisted of chemotherapy, radiation, an autologous stem cell transplant, many hospital stays, doctor's appointments, a broken arm, lung damage from chemo/radiation, having to wear oxygen 24/7 and much, much more.
I have not had the chance or opportunity to do much of anything, but heal my body and try to kick the cancers butt! My goal is to make a trip to Florida to swim with the dolphins. Because the past two years have been so tough and I have not obviously been able to work and financially coming up with money to swim with the dolphins is out of reach at this time. Due to my illness my mother and I both have had to file bankruptcy. So as you can see having cancer has effected my whole life and I just want something good to happen.
I am ready to have some fun and get back to a somewhat normal life. I have always loved dolphins and have collected many dolphin figurines. They are amazing animals and are so carefree, so swimming would them would just be a dream come true. Thank you for taking the time to read my wish and hopefully making it come true! :o) (more)

Okay, here goes....I'm scheduled to have my right SI joint fused on August 27. For those of you who don't know what an SI joint is, it's kinda like a big "C" clamp in your pelvis and is a weight bearing joint. Mine is SEVERELY separated, and deformed~which is causing me loads of pain on top of pain that I already have!! SOO....it would so great to have a set of cool (literally! it's pretty humid here!!), cute jammies that I can wear in the hospital AND to the rehab-and a very very comfy pillow to sleep on as I'm going to spend a LOT of time on my left side....so c'mon people~help me be comfy during a PAINFUL surgery!!
