Financial help and prayers, for Brooke and her family....

As many of you know, my cousin Brooke Springer was in a bad vehicle accident on
March 18, 2008, in Webster Springs-West Virginia. In the beginning it was touch and go. Brooke broke her neck and back. She bruised her lungs, and broke her pelvis front and back, too.
She had numerous injuries and was in a hospital in Charleston, West Virginia, for approximately 2 weeks. She has since been moved to HealthSouth Mountain View Regional Rehabilitation Hospital, in Morgantown, West Virginia, for rehabilitation.
The doctors are saying that she will more than likely be paralyzed from the waste down.
Brooke is very depressed and has started to realize her limitations. She is only 18 and was getting ready
to graduate from high school. She is used to playing all different kinds of sports, and this is a devastating blow to what she once knew, and how she lived her life.
These types of injuries, cause so many different problems.
Her family is in need of financial support, as well as, prayers.
This money would help to cover some of the costs associated with Brooke's hospital stay, room and board, or food for her mom to stay with her in Morgantown, while Brooke is going through rehabilitation. Her mother lives 3 hours away, and cannot drive this everyday.
Her mother is still recovering from a double-lung transplant, that she received back in January.
At this time, the doctors aren't expecting Brooke to go home for at least, another month and half.
They will be letting her attend her graduation if at all possible, but she will have to go right back to the rehabilitation center.
We are not giving up on Brooke, and know it is very possible that she may walk again.
We have strong faith, and we are holding on to that!

this is my 8th try!!!! ):
I would like so much to be able to get a toddler swing set for our precious little grand-daughter for Christmas.
She is a 'special needs' toddler and she needs this to help with her coordination and motor skills. The set in the picture is the best one that I could find, and I found it at Walmart....

She was born with 'abnormalities' and has been through pure hell and torture since the minute she was born. She will be 2 yrs. Old in a few days and is still undergoing treatment for her 'abnormalities' (there is a medical term for what she has but I can not pronounce it let along spell it!!!, lolol). She has huge cyst inside and outside her body. These cyst are made up of 1,000's of micro-scopic cysts. She was in the hospital for 4 months after she was born hooked up to all kinds of equipment and monitors; trach, breathing tube, feeding tube, ect....

She is doing much better now, but she still has a long way to go. I just want to get this swing set for her in hopes it will help her with her motor, and coordination skills.

I really need 2 bed~in~a~bags!!!!!! This is where wishing for new sheets comes in....the 2 sets that I now have goes to 'wore out', 'thread-bare' bed~in~a~bag sets!!!!! They are all wore out!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And so thin and faded they look awful! I sure would love to be able to have a couple of new ones that don't look so depressed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can get 2 sets for $100.00 + tax.

Plus, we sure could use the extra covers this coming winter!! Right now, we have 3 blankets and 2 wore out comforters (that came with the 2 bed~in~a~bags)!!!! We don't have a whole lot of heat either. We don't have central heat/air; we have 1 window unit in the front part of the house that heats/cools, and a wood-burning fireplace...also in the front of the house!!! The bedrooms are in the back of the house and very little heat gets back there!!! We do have 1 electric blanket, but my hubby won't let me use it!!!! He's afraid it will catch fire in the middle of the night.

So let's do it! A true ravenous, voracious, gluttonous wish! I want a steak. No, that's too commonplace...
I want salmon! I want a whole barbeue, with hickory smoked salmon, a big salad with creamy avocado, juicy grape tomatoes, tender baby spinach, crisp slices of cucumber, crunchy almond slices, and an olive oil based balsamic vinigarette! Oh, and a side of asparagus, dripping with the juice of freshly squeezed lemon, and just a touch of salt. How heavenly!
For dessert, nice and simple: fresh strawberries. Oh heck, this is supposed to be greedy and gluttonous! Strawberries AND banana. Oh, and melon too! Screw it, I've got a fondue set, chocolate fondue with all sorts of wonderful fruits.
And to compliment it, a bottle of crisp, sweet wine from Germany.
You know what else? I was going to wish for enough to invite my friends, but let's face it! Where's the greed in cooking for others? This meal will be just for me, and the woman I love. (more)

I really miss Endo, and I know I'm probably not the only one. I think it'd knock her socks off if we sent her a surprise birthday gift - a small flower arrangement and a card from all of GoN. Endo has given all she could to this community and I think it would be nice to let her know that she's missed and not forgotten.

In 1995, something horrible happened in my hometown. From Kathy Cremin's Blog on MySpace: I don't quite know how to start what I want to be said here. But I am going to try. Over 12 years ago, I had a happy little family. I had a good job. My children by all aspects were happy, well adjusted kids growing up where their parents grew up, in Somerville, Massachusetts. Although I had the regular concerns any parent of active teenagers does, murder was not remotely in my thoughts. My concerns lied in their personal and emotional health. Their education, and their drug awareness. Their social activities and personal friendships did not raise any red flags for what happened. March 30, 1995 is a day that I dread to remember. But I can relive it several times a day second for second. My beautiful daughter had been strangled to death and I did not know what to do. I had no idea how to handle this and live at the same time. There is no relief to this grief. I live with it. Her dad lives with it. My daughter and my two sons live with it. I think it is our love for one another that helps us to move on in our lives. When I look at my children and I appreciate so very much, how very proud I am of them. How very much I love each one of them. How I wish I could do away with all the evil in this world so it won't come near them ever again, it is a very scary and strange feeling. Because no matter what,I am always afraid something bad will happen. When things are at their best,that fear is always ever looming over. Yet, I can't let it defeat my, or anyone in my family's dreams, endeavors, and pursuits for success and happiness... I almost lost everything with meaning after Deanna was murdered. And I would have if I had continued to let grief control my life. I chose to let the love inside and surrounding me be my guide. I am so grateful to have what I have. But I will not just slide back and let Deanna's murderer not be pursued. I think we can all help this quest for justice. I don't want to miss work ...I have had a rough couple of weeks... Ever since my uncle passed away and my pup passed away last month. I helped pay for the headstone for my uncle and I had to pay the vet bills. So that put me way behind. My bills are paid and my mortgage is paid. This isn't a sob story to gain votes... My aunt raised me after my mother passed away and gave up so much to take care of me. I love my aunt and I call her mom, because she is my mom no matter what. She raised me to be the man I am today without her I don't know where i would be at this moment.

Since i moved out a while back I have been trying to take her out at least once a month so she won't get bored or fall into depression because she is living alone now. I feel that being there for her is very important. She means the world to me and I hate to see her upset. After, all that has happend this past month I really want to distract her from everything. We are having family drama because of my uncles will. She and I are stuck in between.But it's affecting her more since it's her brother who passed and watching his kids bicker about money is really sickening.

I want to take my aunt to dinner and to watch batman. My aunt is a very odd older woman and I think batman would spark her interest. I think it's best to take her out of the house instead of making dinner. Parks are out of the questiondue to allergies...So I'll find a nice cheap place i can take her for dinner and if we have money left over we can get icecream or something (more)

A little bit early I know... but I want to do homemade cookies and thermoses of hot chocolate for the homeless this Christmas Eve and wanted to give my wish an early start.

I got this idea last Christmas Eve when I was driving by the park on the way home from celebrating at my Grandmas House. There were a group of homeless gathered in the park. Just thinking about them and how they were spending their Christmas brought me to tears.
I wished I had something I could give them to show them a little Christmas spirit.

So I got to thinking about what kinds of things I might give to them and then it hit me something that I bet they don't ever get but conjures up images of Christmas and good times. Homemade cookies!
This year my goal is to provide 15 homeless men and women with a dozen Christmas cookies, a thermos full of hot chocolate and a Christmas card.

A very nice internet friend has been helping me collect thermos all year and I almost have enough of them. The money from my wish would go toward purchasing hot chocolate mix, baking supplies and a couple more thermoses from the thrift store.

Help make Jamie the happiest kid on earth by helping him and his dad go to the happiest place on earth Disneyland! Yes its true that magical place is Jamies very favorite place to go.
We have videos on it, cds of the music used in the rides, books and brochures that he looks at every day. Jamie and daddy use to have annual passports to go but for the last two years we haven't been able to afford to renew them.

This might seem like an extravagant wish to some but thats why its in the naughty section.

Being autistic Jamie doesn't enjoy doing alot of things so it can be challenging for him and his dad to find things to do together. Going to Disneyland a few times a month was one of the things they totally enjoyed doing together ( even though his dad actually doesn't care for Disneyland that much). His dad would take him after work just about every third Sunday and they would just spend time together riding the rides and maybe get a popcorn and soda there which made it affordable since they weren't buying alot of food or any souvieners.

Alot of people ask me being autistic doesn't it over stimulate Jamie? My answer to that is no. Even though he is sensitive to sound there something about how strong the visual stimuli is that overcomes that sensitivity and he can sit and enjoy the parade, rides and music right along with everyone else.

My wish is for 100.00 towards the $248.00 needed to purchase two Southern California Select annual passports for Jamie and his dad to visit the happiest place on Earth many times over the next year. If I could win the 100.00 I can come up with the 148.00 left towards the cost as Jamie never wants anything expensive for Christmas. Get him a used Barney tape from Ebay and hes happy. ( not that thats all I get him) I would really love to suprise them with these at Christmas since there is much in the way of toys that Jamie enjoys. She just went to the hearing doctor as well and found out that she needs a hearing aid and she's not even 60 yet. So she's super depressed and feeling super old.
I haven't been here for awhile with everything going on.... don't worry, won't go into details to bore everyone. Just thinking a nice day would do the trick to cheer everyone up....myself, my mother (after tooth and Spook), and the girls (they've been staying with me lately). OK, I will go into a little detail. Cindy, the girl's mother, was put in the hospital for her asthma, while there the doctors found a tumor on her lung, gratefully (thankfully) it wasn't cancerous but it still sent the girls into major shock and they really haven't gotten over it yet, even though it's safe.

a headstone for my mom and dad.

This wish is for a long over due headstone for my parents. My father died in 1982 of a heart attack and my mother died in 1971 of cancer.. Me and my siblings were not able to get a headstone for them because of the cost of the funerals. they have been with out one for such along time now. and i can never afford to buy one. they mean so much to me and they have done some much for me over the years. this is the least i can do for them. the $100 is a good start. i have this friend in my area. that makes these stones.real cheap and nice. the picture in this wish is what i would love to get them. i would like a stone on there grave to show people who is buried there. there names. to be remembered. and there both buried side by side. this wish means alot to me. if i could get them one to show how much i love them. they will always be remembered with a headstone.

I wish to be able to go and clearance shop at my local wally world, To be honest I am geeking to go there and walgreens. I see all the deals that missinmykin is rolling in on and I too need to do that. Who knows maybe I could even find a cheap printer which I would use to get back into my coupon group with, Oh man i miss printing all my coupons. ( I love all the looks I get when holding up a line at the store with my massive amounts of coupons) People get snotty and others are amazed at how much I have saved!
