In 1995, something horrible happened in my hometown. From Kathy Cremin's Blog on MySpace: I don't quite know how to start what I want to be said here. But I am going to try. Over 12 years ago, I had a happy little family. I had a good job. My children by all aspects were happy, well adjusted kids growing up where their parents grew up, in Somerville, Massachusetts. Although I had the regular concerns any parent of active teenagers does, murder was not remotely in my thoughts. My concerns lied in their personal and emotional health. Their education, and their drug awareness. Their social activities and personal friendships did not raise any red flags for what happened. March 30, 1995 is a day that I dread to remember. But I can relive it several times a day second for second. My beautiful daughter had been strangled to death and I did not know what to do. I had no idea how to handle this and live at the same time. There is no relief to this grief. I live with it. Her dad lives with it. My daughter and my two sons live with it. I think it is our love for one another that helps us to move on in our lives. When I look at my children and I appreciate so very much, how very proud I am of them. How very much I love each one of them. How I wish I could do away with all the evil in this world so it won't come near them ever again, it is a very scary and strange feeling. Because no matter what,I am always afraid something bad will happen. When things are at their best,that fear is always ever looming over. Yet, I can't let it defeat my, or anyone in my family's dreams, endeavors, and pursuits for success and happiness... I almost lost everything with meaning after Deanna was murdered. And I would have if I had continued to let grief control my life. I chose to let the love inside and surrounding me be my guide. I am so grateful to have what I have. But I will not just slide back and let Deanna's murderer not be pursued. I think we can all help this quest for justice. And I am truly grateful to everyone who has put any time into helping get "Justice for Deanna." Imagine not being able to ask for what you want or need. Not even being able to tell some if you hurt, are hungry or just have to go to the bathroom. Thats what my son deals with everyday.
His name is Jamie and hes 11,autistic and non verbal I am making this wish to help with purchasing an assistive communication device called a Go Talk

So far I have been unsuccessful in my attempts to get the school district to provide one. They always have an excuse as to why now is not the time for them to purchase one for him. There current reason is that he just started in a new classroom with a new teacher so lets give him time to adjust before we bring in something new.
He currently uses some PECS to communicate but they are always getting misplaced or ruined because he chews on them.
As far as our medical coverage paying for the device we have an HMO and they will not cover any equipment that is not medically neccessary. Apparently being able to communicate is not a medical neccessity.
Previously hes used a Go Talk that a past teacher purchased for his use at school. Unfortunately when we moved the device had to stay with the teacher.
The Go Talk was really easy for Jamie to access and gave him a voice. He was doing so well with it before our move which is why I would like to get him his own.

The cost of a GoTalk is 249.00 and I realize that the pot is only 100.00 so I have set up a chipin account in case anyone would like to help with the purchase of this device.

On September 29th in 1950 two people got in a car, drove to Vegas, got married there and drove right back. Having both had disasterous first marriages they decided not to tell any of their friends and family that they had gotten married. They agreed to wait a year and at the end if things weren't working out each would be free to just walk away from the marriage with no strings attached.

He was an entertainer in a Night Club and she was a waitress who already had a 5 year old son. Things weren't easy. They didn't have much money in the beginning. He was away alot chasing his dream and sometimes working three jobs in pursuit of that dream. She had several miscarriages and a still birth and eventually had to have a complete hysterectomy.Their only child ( her son from her previous marriage) had a car accident that cost him his leg and nearly his life and because they had no health insurance it also used up all of their savings.

Even with all these challenges things must have worked out because these two wonderful people are my grandparents and they will be celebrating their 58th wedding anniversary this September.

My grandfather and grandmother are two very wonderful people and growing up I always thought of them as Lucy and Ricky from I Love Lucy. My grandpa was the dark haired entertainer who was the more serious one and my grandma was the one with the temper and crazy schemes.

Both were very influential in my life and practically raised me. My grandfather had several opportunities in his later years to advance his career but he was one who always put his family first and didn't take advantage of them.

Every year to celebrate there anniversary they go to Stateline or Laughlin because it is cheaper than going to Vegas. I would love to be able to give them a 100.00 to add to their trip funds so they wouldn't have to worry about Vegas costing so much and could spend their anniversary in the place where they got married.

As some of you know I have been trying to find a female friend for quite a while now and not having much luck. I have been divorced for 9 years now. We aren't sure if we are completely done having children. We do know we aren't ready for anymore right now. I want to have an i.u.d. put in. They last up to 5 years. I am unable to take the pill for medical reasons, so after many discussions with my doctor, this is our best option. It seems very expensive, but it covers 5 years. If I was able to take the pill, over time, it would end up being a lot more expensive. I would have to pay $30 a month and that would end up being $1800 for 5 years. As far as condoms go, I am allergic to latex, so I would have to use lambskin or polyurethane. The polyurethane are $6 each. So if I get lucky twice a week :) it would cost me $3120 for 5 years. The Mirena is $700.00. My insurance will cover most of it, I will have to pay $100. So for $100 I would be safe for 5 years. I would love to enjoy my sex life with my husband with out the fear of creating another child right now. LOL. I would appreciate everyone's help in making this happen. [ link ]

We got cut off food stamps last month and I need to stock up on meat. Now that hubby is working we are got cut off I need to stock up. Hubby's work is dependent on being a sub so it is unstable. He was working at a long term sub position but recently got cut from that job. Now he is back to waiting for calls to come in. We have just about ran out of food b4 but thanks to some friends we didnt. I dont want to run out so I'm taking steps now to stock up. Okay I have wished for help with diapers for them now they need a new place to live.
They decided to stay with my mom for 2 months because it is closer to the hospital and no animals like my house because the baby needs constant care. He eats every three hours and doesnt cry to be fed ever. He was so small his immune system is so fragile. My moms house is cleaner than a hospital.

The landlord decided they couldnt keep the place if they arent there. Well he is giving their deposit back if there is no damage. My son in laws brother is there so who knows. They have to find another place to put their stuff and a new apartment/house. The landlord is so picky and probably will find stuff. The laws here protect the landlord if we sued or did anything it would be thrown out.

They have officially moved out of their apartment and are living at my moms full time. I know 100 wont get them a place but it would help with the deposit that the landlord took. They hardly got anything back. We took 2 days to clean up after his brother and his girlfriend and still got little deposit back from the man.

The baby is doing okay still sick but growing...Can you vote to help them out.

David and I enjoy skinny dipping (or for me it would be chunky dunking). We need our swimming pool to be able to do that.

We have a four foot pool that we got from WalMart a few years ago. We also purchased a sand pump to go with it. We are ready to clean the pool and get it back up and running, but we just found that our hoses are dry rotted and so are the gaskets for the sand pump. We also need new sand for the pump.

Oh - and the kids enjoy the pool also. But I think David and I enjoy it more.

My family gets food stamps. I do my grocery shopping by the month so that I can buy in bulk which saves me about $50 each month. My deep freezer went out taking about $150 worth of meat with it. I have no money to replace it with right now and the food banks in my area have been swamped lately and were only able to help me with a couple days worth. There are 6 of us and not much money coming in but I'm sure most of you can relate. The freezer was still under warranty but that doesn't cover the meat and I don't have renters insurance either. Being that the freezer is mine my landlord can't be held responsible.
