Getting off to a good start in school is so important to the educational success of children. Nothing helps start off the new school year right like a new ( or near new) back pack full of fun school supplies. I know my own children love to get a new backpack of school supplies on the first day.

I'd like to help get some of the young kids ( Kindergarten thru Second) here at Gon off to a good start by sending those whose parents might not have the money for new school supplies a package containing either a back pack or lunch bag with some great school supplies to start the year off.
I remember last year quite a few people posted in the community forum that they were in need of school supplies. If I win my wish 1/2 of the money will be spent on supplies and 1/2 will go toward shipping costs. My husband works for Walmart so I will get a discount in addition to their already great prices pn back to school supplies.

I'll never forget little Ashley, a sweet baby with leukemia. I only "knew" her from her mom's wishes right here on GON, but her face touched my heart. Last October, her mom made a wish here on GON [ link ] that her cancer had not returned. Such a beautiful baby & she had to go through so much in her short but amazingly sweet little life. For those of you who don't know, only a little over a month after her wish was granted, Ashley went to be with Jesus.

One of her last holidays was Halloween and according to her mom's myspace page myspace.com/findacureforashley , she loved it so very much! Her mom has started a foundation called "Ashley Halls Healing Halloween" in honor of one of her daughter's favorite days. She is collecting NEW children's and baby's Halloween costumes to give to Rainbow Babies and Childrens Cancer Floor in the hospital Ashley was in. They have to be new because of the fragile immune systems of these little ones. They will be given to all the sweet little babies & children who are in the hospital & may be celebrating their last Halloween.

If I win this wish, I will spend 100% of the winnings and more to purchase halloween costumes and send them to Ashley's mom. Because it is early in the season, I will be able to get many more costumes now than in a few months when prices go up.

Lily wears leg braces called afos and we need extra long socks to go over them ,The only ones that work well are the circo ones from target that they sell for 1.49 a pair ,I would love to be able to get 12 pairs of socks for her as the ones we have are unraveling from being stretched over the braces,many thanks :)

My Serena loves to read and her favorite are the Easy Readers that go by your age level. They sell them for $3.00 plus tax each at Walmart.
She has 3 she has her eye on which will make her 8th birthday on 8-8-08 extra special!

I am a mom to 6 children. Four of them are still in school. I am on disability for rhuematoid arthritis and have spent my check on their clothing and shoes, but that now leaves getting their supplies. I don't have enough to get what they will need for the start of school as well as all the school fees. I could really use some help with this. My children are 6 years old going in 1st grade, 16 years old going in 11th grade, 17 years old going in 11th grade, and 18 years old going in 12th grade. The older ones have been working and helping me with the bills so there isn't much left over to where they could help with their schooling.
