Myself and my daughter, never get to get out of the house.
We have read every book we can get our hands on, and were in need of a new hobby.
We needed something to keep us busy and something to keep us from being bored.
A wonderful member here, is sending us some things to get us started on learning how to
create plastic canvas.
We are both very excited, and are looking forward to learning a new hobby that will keep us busy.
We are thinking this is something we could do to make Christmas gifts, and also maybe make some
things to sell.
I'm so excited, and so is she.
I would just like to purchase some canvas, yarn, and shapes for our new hobby.
They have these really awesome ornament canvas and beautiful metallic yarns, that would
make the most beautiful home-made Christmas ornaments.
Also, Brittany loves to cross-stitch and I am trying to learn, as well.
I will use some of the money to buy some cross-stitching products.
I also need a big plastic container to keep it all in.

Make The Buzzing STOP! (6th)

Buzzing, buzzing everywhere! I try to open my mouth to comment, or ask something, and it's Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. I feel as though I'm trapped within one of Shako's bee hives, but instead of bees buzzing, it's teenagers!

What do I do? How do I get these kids to stop buzzing? Ok, let's examine this logically...

The only ones buzzing are the members of my Seamanship Quiz team, with the Royal Canadian Sea Cadets. I suppose I could replace them... but they are the very best at what they do, that wouldn't be good.
Hmmm, they only buzz right before they answer a question... Is it simply to get my attention? To show that they are the one who is answering? Huh, maybe there is a way around this...
What about a machine capable of emitting a beeping sound in place of a buzz? Beeping is good. I like beeping. Oh, even better! It will have buttons and lights! Kids love buttons and lights! Ok, we have our solution.

In short, my Seamanship Quiz team is amongst the best in our area, but always gets squeezed out of the title by a few points. What I would like to do is donate a buzzer system to the corps, which would give them a real edge over the others, who only get to use it at the tournament. What's more, it will give me the tools I need to start an in-corps tournament, and stimulate interest in our field. But most importantly, the buzzing will go away. So much buzzing!

My teenage daughter has been without a bed for a while, she's been sleeping on the sofa, floor or recliner and she's driving me crazy asking when when when I will get her a mattress. I just haven't been able to afford one yet because I've been sick and trying to recover and get back on my feet. Anyhow, she's a teen and already moody as it is and this is really complicating matters, and she complains her back hurts and I feel bad. I am trying to do everything I can to at least come up with enough to get a her a mattress so she can have a comfy place to sleep at night. We have a bed frame... just no mattress set.

I've been on the site a year and I very rarely make a needy wish I think this is my 2nd needy wish ever but I'm getting in the desperate stage..I really feel bad as a parent that I haven't found a way to get this for her yet. Thanks (more)

KarenMomof5 and her family are about to be homeless. She currently lives about an hour away from me. She does not have internet and cannot post the wish herself.
I'm trying to help them get into a local shelter with a 90 day and long term program.

Karen and her family are in dire need of the most basic need, shelter.

Homelessness is a cause dear to my heart because I've been there myself. When I was 21 and pregnant with my daughter, my family was homeless.

After that experience, I became involved and started volunteering at the local shelter. At first I answered phones, did paperwork, greeted families coming in to apply, anything they'd let me do to give back.

Then, I sat on a task force, chaired a task force, and joined the board. I served 6 years (2 terms) until I had to stop because my plate was too full.

I gave public awareness speeches and spoke at luncheons to raise awareness that homeless people are not just transients, but they are also families. We were ahead of our time and our leadership's vision saw the need.

Here I am today, and all of those memories of the roughest point of my life came flooding back. I realized I had to go through this trial in my own life to be able to empathize and help someone else.

Edit 4/11/2008 - Karen and family have been accepted to the homeless shelter on the emergency 30 day program. If all goes well, they can apply for the 90 day program to get back on their feet. They will be moving to the shelter on 4/12/2008. Thank you to everyone who has prayed for them, please keep the prayers coming. When I spoke to Karen earlier, she said after she decided to let go, it seemed like everything just fell into place. Thank you - so far, we've raised about $60.00 to help them. They have to pay a $100.00 deposit for the shelter - $50.00 next week and $50.00 after Joe gets paid. (more)

I am wishing today for someone to help out my family with food and gas. we dont have much food in the house .Im not worried about myself as long as my wife and kids are able to eat. we have got help from the food pantry this month and they cant assist us anymore right now. we just need a little help with food and gas I have been looking for work with no luck.my wife has medical issues( sheehans syndrome, heart problems, high blood preassure,history of pulmonary embolisim, to name a few )

I have never really asked for such real help, something that I really need this bad on here. But right now, I am to the point where I have NO money.. $7.00 to my name right now. I need to find a job, put diapers on my kids, Car gas to look for a job... and my rent and bills are all due... I usually try and help others on here as much as possible. I love sending others surprises, etc.. in the mail...
I feel like a bad mom.... I sent my son to an awesome daycare.. and yes DHS pays some of it.. Well, I don't wanna either.

There was a time when I liked sharing my bed. Heck, I didn't even mind sharing it with a lot of different people.
Then, I got married and having someone to share my bed and warm my feet was a good thing.

Now, I've spent almost 6 years getting used to having my bed all to myself and .....I wanna keep it that way.

In the past 9 months we've done a really good job of getting everything my daughter would need for the nursery in her apartment. She's set just fine.
We didn't realize till a lil too late that we'd totally forgotten about grama's house.
I have nowhere to change a baby or have them sleep...except in my bed.
I've been trying to find a second hand pack and play but, I haven't had any luck.

I'm tapped out from 9 months of buying baby stuff but.....I WANT a Pack and Play.
And....I want the DELUXE model too. The one with the bassinet insert and the changing table attachment.
If I'm gonna be greedy, I figger I might as well go the whole nine yards, ya know?

I don't "need" one....I can let the little bugger puke in my bed but...I don't WANT to.
I want my bed nice and clean. Well, except for any mess I might make in it anyway. ;)

Hmmmmmmmmm....Is it appropriate to beg if you are being greedy or is that limited to needy?

On July 4th, findingmyfriends had a close person to her involved in a horrible drunk driving accident that killed her friends 5 year old, and seriously injured the 3 y/o. The drunk is out on a measly 12, 600 bond. PLEASE pray that people in Denham Springs LA, or wherever this took place at set up such an outcry that this bum will go back to where he temporarily belongs until he gets to where he REALLY belongs-UNDER the jail.

There should be __ZERO__ tolerance for drunk driving in this day and age, I pray that almighty God may give strength to Bridget, Emmie (her friend), and that entire family. If this wins? Please send it to Bridget to help Emmie pay for whatever it can for those babies.....now one forever an angel.
