To help educate and inspire the homeless people in the USA

To teach art classes to the homeless, I have various volenteer artists who will teach them how to draw and then to get them to draw a picture representing their life and how they see it.
I have so far gained the support of 4 local artists who would like to help with their project, one is a desert storm veterinarian and one of whom used to be homeless in Santa Monica himself 11 years ago.

They will provide a life synopsis, why they are homeless, where they are from, what there dreams and hopes are, what they want to be.
This will compliment their pictures, and I will sell them on my website with the funds going directly towards the an education system for them (see below)

Any money raised from these artworks will go towards the education centre.

LONG TERM GOAL:
Education classes for the homeless
Objective: Through education and free classes I will teach the homeless people of Santa Monica, a mixture of the below classes and classes of their choice.
The idea is to empower them and to give then inspiration, motivation and the basic skills necessary towards getting off the streets and back to work.

Classes:

? Dealing with people
? Dealing with conflict
? Money Management
? Motivation and Inspiration
? How to be and keep being motivated
? Time Management
? CV writing
? Customer service

I would create workbooks where each participant would enroll and get a workbook, they would then take each class, getting a stamp in their books for the classes that they attend, once they have completed all the classes they will get a certificate.

The certificate will show that they have been learning the foundation skills and help towards getting them a new job, we will the coach them into getting a job with the skills they have identified and also recommend them to companies that we will make contacts with and we will monitior their performance for the first month (This first month will be a probationary period- with on job training provided and a support network) if they are successful they will get a fulltime job in the end

Hey Friends, We need your help!!! On Sept 28th, we will be traveling to The Toledo Hospital
so that both Tessa and Joe can have some major tests and precedures done. These procedures
are necessary and part of a prevention. You see, the type of cancer that Tom has, is hereditary
and the kids need to be tested. Our kids are 15 and 12. These tests and procedures are quiet
tramatic for there ages and I'm so sorry they must go through it. But early detection is the best way to cope with such a disease.

We are wishing for help with expenses that will have with this trip. The medicine that they need to take before the procedure, (It is OTC but expensive) Gas to and from Toledo (1.5 hours each way) Parking Garage, LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS of COFFEE FOR ME...lol and I would like to take them out for dinner on the way home as they will have not eaten since the previous day. The kids have asked me not to list the procedures they are having, so if you need more information please email me. They want that to be private. We could use all of your help with voting,and would be very grateful if we could get some help promoting this wish. It is the only one that I'll be wishing for!!

Money for Lamp Oil and Candles

Well, we've pretty much given up having electricity so we can have food. We are not giving it up totally because I don't have access to a propane operated fridge. Water is heated by gas. We have 5 bedrooms so we would need 3 more oil lamps and several packs of tall candles ( pillars ) for the several holders we have. Lamps are $8.00 each and oil is $4.50 ( 2 needed ) Candles are $2.50-$3.00 each. ( per pack ) I have 5 kids who rely on me to provide for them and times are really hard for us right now. The kids really don't ask for much. They don't even have half of what the lists say they need for the year. They were all given small bags with a couple of notebooks and some crayons and a couple of pencils. Yes, better than nothing. I will be running an Amish bakery next spring so things will be looking up for us next year financially but next year is still far away. We really need this oil and lamps to be able to see where we are going in the house at night. PLEASE HELP US!!! (more)

My family has had a bit of a rough spell. I had to leave work earlier than expected during my pregnancy (doctors orders) and my husband got laid off right about the same time! We have fallen behind on all our bills but with winter coming I'm most afraid of losing our home. Living in the streets with a 4month old and 5 year old would be the worst of the worst... The landlord has been forgiving up until last month, he is now threatening eviction. My husband is starting a new job this week and I am working very part time in the evening but it's just not enough to catch up. (more)

As you all know my finances have been very bad this year,but im giving up on my other wish .Its getting very close to christmas and i would love to give my kids a christmas this year .I have five kids that mean the world to me and i would love to give them a good christmas this year . This wish would give each child two hundred dollars in great gifts for them.I have 3 girls that dont ever ask for much my one daughter has spinal bifida and she has gone through so many surgerys ,all she goes through and she still always smiles.They would love to have gift cards to go shopping at walmart, forman mills, and the mall!!My boys still believe in santa and they say dont worry about buying any gifts because santa will bring us some.I cant tell them that there is no santa they are still to young and i couldnt break their hearts!! I really could use a miracle right now . It would be so great to see their eye's light up and these great big smiles on their faces christmas morning ! I just cant get caught up now that i havent had this child support for so long so if you could vote for my kids they can have a christmas filled with joy and love!! I would really love to make this wish come true for my kids so im going to start this wish now and that way i still have time because some of these other wishes that i read on robin hood are very, very sad!! As you know if you have read my past wishes or the forum, my parents(Larry and Bertha) are sick and I help them out. My kids are teenagers, and my daughter(Alysha) I have trouble with. My son(Chance) is 280 lbs at the age of 13-he needs supervision. I recently lost my job, I dont see a new job coming up anytime soon. I really need this machine to help bring in some income.
