We lost everything in Hurricane Katrina...Please help!
In June of 2005, my father passed away unexpectedly. Then 8 weeks later Katrina took the rest of my life away. We lived in St. Bernard, about 15 minutes from New Orleans. St. Bernard was one of the hardest hit parishes. Every house and business was destroyed. My apartment was under 8 ft. of water for 3 weeks. EVERYTHING WAS LOST. I lost my job of 6 years and I lost my whole community. We were uninsured because we were always told we were in a no-flood zone. We have moved 4 times since the storm, we now have a place to live...but still are in need of furniture, and household items,& clothes. FEMA did not help us. We have always worked and paid our taxes. The picture posted is of my living room and kitchen, EVERYTHING WAS COVERED IN TOXIC MOLD, and also we had about 2 feet of mud through out the home.We just could use a helping hand.
