I know that is a ridiculous sum of money! If I don't have an autologous (not embryonic) stem cell transplant I will likely die. I have a clotting disorder called Antiphospholipid Antibody Syndrome that has caused me to have a heart attack and many strokes; and as is the case with autoimmune diseases, if you have one you have several. I am very happily married and I am an excellent professor. I make a huge impact in the lives of my students. I have so much left to give. To read about this struggle, please visit my blog: [ link ]

I am a young Northern Canadian Artist. To this point, mainly undiscovered. Art is my passion. I have never had money but I can usually find ways to realize my dreams. Many dreams are free and I try to live them every day. If I could launch my career as an artist I believe that it would open the door to the life I always wanted. I don't need to be rich or terribly famous. What I would really love is to be able to live a modist life in my cabin in the wood and maintain that life by doing what I love. I also dream of seeing the world and I think as an artist I could do that.
I have a Gallery Show booked For the Month of July 2007 in Sudbury Ontario Canada at a cafe called "The Black Cat Too". I would like to showcase my Paintings and photography and need help to pay for art supplies and framing costs.

My significant other and I are both full time students at Nipissing University, and much of what little free time we have is devoted to working with a local youth group. What's more is that at the end of May, she will be leaving town to work in Penticton, BC, 3880 km away, and won't be back for 3 months. What I'd like to do is take her out for a sunset dinner cruise aboard the Chief Commanda II for her birthday. As students, money is always tight, but I would really like to treat the love of my life to the fair well she deserves.

Laptop Computer For Classroom Use

Laptop Computer For Classroom Use

This past year, I was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome, which is an autistic spectrum disorder, as well as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Attentive Type. Some years ago I was also diagnosed with Discalcula, which is a learning disability related to mathematics, as well as disgraphia, which has to do with writing things down. The only way I can become eligable for the government grant my disabilities are supposed to entitle me to, is to take out an OSAP loan, pushing me into debt. The psychologists who have worked with me recommended that I be provided with a laptop for notetaking in class, because I can't keep pace with how fast people speak. As a student of Political Science at Nipissing University, I have 15 hours per week of note to copy down, which I've had to reduce, drawing out my 3 year degree over 4 years in order to keep up with the material.
I just want to get through school like everyone else.

A New Computer for My 7 Year Old Son, Who Lives With Autism

A New Computer for My 7 Year Old Son, Who Lives With Autism

My son and I currently have a very old computer with little RAM. He mastered the basics of a computer at the age of 3. He's an avid "gamer" on his Children's game websites, and on our computer, they freeze or lock up due to lack of memory. If you have a child with Autism, you know the kind of frustration this can create. He loves using the Internet to learn about Astronomy, Math, Dinosaurs, as well as learning more about what's he's learning about at school.

As well, I use the computer to make him his PECS routines (Picture Exchange Communication System). Having our own computer is such a valuable tool for this, as we can make our own Visual Cue Cards, instead of buying super expensive ones.

I'm a single parent, with Lupus...so between my medication costs, and that of my son's (He's also Asthmatic)...money is always tight. I'd love to get him a new computer to fulfill his needs with, but on a modest income...it just isn't feasible right now.

Thank you so much for reading, voting, and considering our wish :)

I never knew such a site like this was around. Anyway my name is mike and i live in illinois.
I have been with my fiance 8 years and we were planning on gettin married in Sept of this year.
And sadley enough 1 year ago she was diagnosed with a terminal illness. And has since moved to California where her parents live to get treatment. She has been in the hospital the last 5 months. And has been given 3 months to live by the doctors. It is killing me inside. I havent been able to sleep in i dont know how long now. I constantly think of her and want more than anything for this to all go away. It feels like a bad nightmare. I am currently unemployed for i have been helping my grandmother out at her home per her request. It is a 24 hour a day task. So i havent had time to work or make any sort of money. So i guess what i am asking
Is for your help on being able to get an airline ticket to be able to go visit her one last time. My plan is to try and get there and see if i can have a priest come to the hospital and marry us before she passes. I am not the type to ask anyone for help in this manner. It is totally against what i beleive. But i have to put my pride aside for this. I would try to see if i could get someone to drive me there but Im trying to make this happen asap just incase anything happens. I pray everyday for her to maybe somehow just snap out of it , but i dont think its going to happen. I ask you from the bottom of my heart to try and help me out with this. Any amount would help , But the total cost of the ticket would be $568.32 to get there. Again i say this is not me to ask for help , but in the situation i would do anything to make this come true. Im going to end this here for it is to hard to think of what else to say or type anymore. The pain is just unbearable right now. I am grateful there is a site like this. I actually just stumbled on it doing a google search for somthing. Maybe it was a sign or maybe not i dont know.

Peace.

Safe car seats to transport my grandchildren

Safe car seats to transport my grandchildren

I recently had to dispose of two older car seats when I discovered that they were not only well past the date they were legal to use but also saw they were beginning to come apart from age and much use (I have used them for some of my kids, and grandkids).
The seat I have displayed would do not only the two grandsons who are 4 and 2 years old now and as long as they need them, but would also be useful for other grandchildren or young passengers.

DETAILS OF CHANGE!

After consulting several car seat experts including a car seat tech instructor in our home province, we have come to the conclusion that what we need is a forward facing seat that converts to a booster for the 4 year old. We have chosen the Evenflo Traditions seat which sells for 129.99.

The 2 year old is only about 24-25 lbs and so will still be able to sit rear facing for a little while. For him we will get the Evenflo Triumph seat which allows rear facing until 30lbs and then converts to a forward facing car seat and retails for 149.99. We will also obtain a simple booster for 39.99 for when he is older. and which will be useful for transporting other children until then. , for example my 9 year old grandson who is over the age limit for legally needing the booster but still slightly under the weight limit.

It's listed under naughty because I wouldn't dream of taking a wish from someone ill or in desperate need, but I really, really want to go!! Please vote for me!!

I'll keep it short and sweet. I like to drink coffee. I like my Dad. But I live about 12 hours away from him, and due to evil $$, we only get to see each other once a year about for maybe three or four days. I just found out I have some time off from work coming mid August, and I would much rather spend this time up north, maybe head out to the camp on the motorcycle, stop off at Tim Hortons on the way, and get a couple coffee's and roast weenies and hope we don't attract bears with the smell. The amount requested won't quite cover the travel cost, but it'll take enough of it away that the $$ won't be an issue.

I have a brand new Japanese Chin boy, and my partner and I work a lot. Our wish is to have another Japanese Chin for our boy to have with him for the rest of his life. If you only met this dog, you would fall in love with him and you would want him to have a playmate for life. He doesn't deserve to be lonely.

His name is Lumper and he is the sweetest pet I have ever known. We drove for 13 hours just to get him in Niagra and have we never regretted it. These purebreds can go for up to $1000.00 but they are well worth it.

There is one for sale in our area of Ottawa and it will be available to take home in about 15 weeks. Please help me make a good home for this Chin and give Lumper the friend he can love forever. Chins eyes fall out easily, so they can really only play with other Chins.

I know this may seem like a silly wish, but for any dog lover out there who knows how important a pet's happiness is, please vote for me and for Lumper. (His name is Lumper because he has a hernia on his tummy since he was born). It would mean a lot to myself, my partner and to the sweetest pet that ever really existed.

Thank you for reading and if you ever want a pet of your own... get a Chin. Help spread the Chin love.

This is my second try for this wish. I really want to be able to give my husband his wish! He is very adventurous and I really want to impress him with a great adventure! There is a company in my city that offers hot air balloon rides over the whole city. I think this would be a very romantic and exciting way to spend our 1st anniversary which is this summer. It costs $200 a person, which is quite expensive and I know he'll have a bird if I put it on a credit card ;P I want him to enjoy his surprise and not worry about being more in debt for it. We are still working through our student loans and trying to buy our first home so this is definetly a want and not a need. So I need your votes for this one because I'll never be able to afford it on my own. Thanks again for reading my wish and voting for me!!

To Boldly Go Where No One Has Gone Before!

I'm going to remake this wish right off the bat, because this wish is important to me. This will be my 4th attempt, if I don't win out this round, and hopefully my last. Thank you for your continuing support!

I live in North Bay, ON, 360 km away from my parents and siblings. My brother Mark live in Waterloo, and sister Audrey lives in Sudbury, and my brother Thom lives in Ottawa. It has been a long time since we've all been together, and I miss them! Some of my favourite memories therefore are of times when the whole family was together, gathered around the tv with our blankets and a bowl of popcorn, watching Star Trek.
As some of you may have noticed, I am a student of the human condition, and as my post count points out rather dramatically, a "Champion of Justice." I honestly believe that part of who I am was fueled by these aspects of Star Trek: curiosity, a sense of justice, and the eternal quest for self-improvement. This is part of what has made the field of Political Science so interesting to me. I have trouble understanding the way people think, and I want to learn, as well as having a desire to make the world a better place. This mat sound a bit like rambling, but it is how I feel.
As you can see, Star Trek has been more than just entertainment to me, it has been central in my life, and development into the person I am. That is why I am asking for some money to help me along the way to getting the full DVD box set of Star Trek: The Next Generation, the show we watched most as I was growing up.
Unfortunately, I am only a student and therefore have a limited budget, so I've had to make other priorities. You may recall awhile back that I removed my wish for a laptop computer to help with my schoolwork, as I am autistic, because I managed to pull together the funds out of my own budget. This hasn't left me with much for entertainment. The full price of the DVDs is around $400, but I'd rather not eat up such a large amount of the naughty fund.
So I ask you, please, make it so!

If you want to know if I have any talent doing it, check out the You Tube video, that was a movie I made with iMovie. It took a lot of work, patience (and the program crashing losing all my data), but you'll get the point. I'm funny, and semi-talented. How about Final Cut Express?

A New Toy to Replace The One I Wore Out

Well, I think it's pretty obvious from my name that I'm on my own. Since I don't have a partner right now, I'd like to get a new toy to replace my favorite one that I wore out. Of course, I will also need some lubricant to go along with it, and that is reflected in the amount of money listed. C'mon people, help me help myself;). Thanks for checking out my wish!

Here's a real Naughty Wish for ya! It's just for me. Something that I would really like, and would make me happy.. But it's frivilous, and quite selfish.

Lets see here.. I have a collection of several hundred classic monster/horror/scifi movies/tvseries collecting dust. I also have a family, including a nearly 2 year old daughter(Aelan) who never sleeps. Time to myself to bask in the glory of my pride and Joy: My movie collection? Nope. Time to myself? Nope. By the time Aelan's down for the count, so am I. So my collection which I love oh so dearly is sitting, unwatched, half in storage, half on a shelf in my room.

If only there were a magical room with a lock where I could have a moment to myself.. WAIT!! I HAVE one of those "Fortresses of Solitude."

I wind down my nights the same way I have since I was kneehigh to a grasshopper; By having a nice soak in a hot tub. A perfect way to end the day. Almost.. It would be REALLY perfect if while relaxing, I was getting a healthy dose of giant radioactive ants, crushing airstream trailers with their mighty mandibles to harvest their precious supply of sugar.

I could watch one quarter of a monster movie each night, in a hot tub, with a hot cup of Earl Grey Tea, thus completing my relaxation repertoire.

I thought of one of those TV/VCR dealies, but I don't have room on the bathroom counter. With a flip-up portable DVD player, I could just sit it on the closed toilet seat, and enjoy. And don't worry, it's far enough away that there's no chance of me electrocuting myself.

Lonely college student needs date!

I am a first year business student who does not like to go out to meet people at the bars. I am changing into health science, if wanting to save lives is not enough for you. I am witty at times and I am a very kind person. I enjoy long walks on the beach, candle lit dinners, Dancing, and RICHARD DEAN ANDERSON. I am not only looking for money but also a date. Ok ladies come on down. So please don't be to mean when writing comments on this wish. I'm not going to lie to anyone this is kind of a joke wish, but I promise if I win or get any money I will use it on this. As for the date I was thinking I would let the lucky lady pick that's just how nice I am. ;)
P.S I'm so lonely :(

So I know this is pretty hefty of a price but let me tell you why. Christopher, Marrone and Parker now all live in different areas in the world. So I need to round them all up in one place (probably San Francisco) and then all three of us will get stupid mad drunk. Then we will run amuck all over San Francisco, sober up and get stupid mad drunk again. Go to the Metrion watch a movie sober up and get stupid mad drunk again.

It will be the best nights of our lives!

Funeral Expense Money for Rhonda (Dreamno1) and her family

Funeral Expense Money for Rhonda (Dreamno1) and her family

This wish is for Rhonda Rice (Dreamyno1) and her family to help cover funeral expenses. While I know the award is only $100 maximum, I am asking for a minimum of $200. I have taken the info that Lisa (4Leaf) posted at the forum.

Rhonda's daughter Shannon committed suicide Saturday, November 10th at their home. She shot herself in the backyard. Shannon has been very sick for 2-3 months now and the doctors could not find a reason. She lost 30 lbs in that time, and was deathly afraid that she had cancer, although none was identified.

Rhonda and her family are extremely overwrought and overwhelmed right now. An autopsy will be done in Atlanta, and they are going to a funeral home tomorrow to make arrangements. I'll be talking to Rhonda tomorrow, probably in the afternoon/evening. I'll give her all your love, but she may not be around for a while, I'm sure y'all understand that. They are trying to come up with $3,600, which is the minimum they have to come up with for the funeral, etc. The funeral home will let them finance the rest of the amount, which is an additional $2,000. Rhonda's PayPal address is dreamyno1@yahoo. com.

Here is the name of the funeral home:

McKibben Claude & Sons Funeral Home
208 Johnson St.
Hogansville,Ga. 30230

I'm sorry I have to share this horrendous news. Rhonda is heartbroken, and Dillon does not understand where mommy is. Lisa

That's right, little Peter is all grown up.
On Wednesday, December 26th, in my hometown, under the stars, and by the glistenning snow on the frozen lake, I asked the love of my life to marry me. I told her that I was so happy she would be spending Christmas with my family and I, and that there was only 1 more thing needed to make it perfect, to which she innocently replied, "poutine?"
I laughed, and shook my head no as I knelt in front of her, holding up the ring.
For the past year and a half, Ellen and I have been collecting up pennies, nickels, twoonies, what have you in a great big pickle jar. The sum of this money is what we have so far for the wedding fund. Of course, we'll be figuring out how to raise fund. We've tallied it up, and it's a pretty good start, but hey, every little bit helps, right?
We're still figuring out what we want the wedding to be, but I'd like to have the money to give my Ellen a day to remember. And I know, money doesn't buy happy memories, but it sure helps!
Where's the adult content you might ask. Well, being an adult is about responsibility and commitment, and there's no greater commitment I can make than to give myself to the woman I love for the rest of my life.
If, by chance, anyone would like to toss their change into the jar, my paypal is piedro101@hotmail.com

DONATIONS FOR THE BREAST CANCER WALK-10/18

I will be walking on October 18th for our local Breast Cancer Walk.

This year, hundreds of thousands of people will hear the words "You have breast cancer," and there's a good chance that some of them will be people we know and love. I have chosen to fight back against this disease and help make a difference by participating in the American Cancer Society, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk, and I hope you will join me by making a donation in support of my effort.

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is a noncompetitive walk that takes place in 120 communities across the country. From Arizona to Maine and Washington to Florida, Making Strides walkers unite to honor breast cancer survivors and to educate women about early detection and prevention. By raising money to support the American Cancer Society fight against breast cancer, we help fund groundbreaking research, public awareness campaigns, efforts to ensure all women have access to mammograms, and free programs and services that improve the quality of life for patients and their families.

I hope you will support my efforts by making a donation using my personal online fundraising page. It's safe and simple. All you have to do is click the link below and follow the few easy steps. Last year, 450,000 Making Strides participants raised $45 million ... and they did it one donation at a time. So, whether you're able to give $5 or $500, every bit truly does help. Hope starts one dollar at a time.

Hope starts with me, and hope can start with you. Thank you in advance for any support you may be able to offer.
