my children aren 16, 12 and 8 year old twins. They are hungry all the time. I earn enough to pay my bills - don't have creidt cards or anything I am strictly on a cash basis. My car is paid for, etc. I only figure $400 or less for food, toiletries, shoes, etc. It would be nice to have a grocery account (?) that covered more than top ramen, mac & cheese, potatoes and rice. We have a local nonprofit in the Portland area that helps parents after pregnancy and infant loss. I know there is always a need for professional dopplers to calm the moms-to-be's fears of having another loss. Until you have gone thru a pregnancy or infant loss, you have no idea how scary it is to have a subsequent pregnancy after loss.

Many moms have to wait until their ultrasounds to know that their baby is still alive. They live from ultrasound to ultrasound. The dopplers sold at BabiesRUs are poor quality. Moms can rent the dopplers via internet companies but the monthly cost is pretty expensive.

This nonprofit helps parents by offering a resource library and support groups. This wish would greatly help mothers and fathers. (more)

Help for friend leaving abusive husband with 3 children.

I have a friend who is staying with me - she has 3 children (8yrs, 7yrs, and 22 mos.) - and has finally gotten the courage to leave her abusive husband after 9 years. She is going through the womens center for help with a divorce & a protective order - but she needs a home and money to take care of her children. Her "husband" will not help and is still trying to guilt, threaten, and force her to come back. He is threatening to take the children from her and has already tried to get the police and CPS to help him. Luckily, they see that she is doing the right thing. She is working but doesn't make much money yet. She has no furniture and very minimal clothes for the children. Most of their things were left behind when she ran with them ... all she has is what she could fit into her trunk. I think that any funds that I could get for her from here would help get her started. She has no other family to speak of and my husband and I are doing all that we can. Although - my husband is about to lose his mind with 4 extra people in our home (Especially since our family already has 4 people LOL). Please help her (and me). Thank you!!! (more)

My wife has been struggling with a disease called Endometriosis since she was a teenager but the doctors did not discover this until 3 days before our wedding (we where just married on September 8, 2006). Ever since then she has had surgery and now is on treatment for this illness, which has been very expensive and very emotional. We also live with my parents and will continue to live with them until we can afford to purchase a home of our own. Every time we have money for a down payment something medical comes up. I am tired of seeing her cry because she thinks its her fault that we don?t have a home of our own. This is why I am asking for help. It would mean so much to both of us. Thank You (more)

I hate the image that I see staring back at me. What I really want is be healthy, my family needs me and I need to be there for them.

I'm at fault for the weight gain, I let depression take over and I allowed myself to find excuses to eat.

I can't do this anymore.

I'm trying to take walks, but I'm ashamed of my body and I walk with my head down. I have two small girls, I don't want them to get distorted body images because mommy likes donuts.

I have to stop this cycle. My mom was a very heavy set women and in the last few years lost about 100lbs(go mom), and I can see the fear in her eyes that I'm becoming like that...

A few reasons why I gained weight:

Right after I had my first baby, the relationship ended. Mix Postpartum depression with even more depression and add broken relationship=lots of cheesecake.

I decide to go out one evening with a friend to get a few drinks and while I was waiting to use the restroom, I pushed out the patio door and was raped.

More food...

Pregnant with my last baby and was put on bedrest for a month and ended up gaining weight quickly. Had baby and went through another cycle of postpartum depression.

Then I decide to quit smoking a year ago...

and I gained 40lbs. God, I wish I was kidding. I was dumb about the way I quit and replaced cigarettes with food.

I want a treadmill, but after reading the wishes on here and I can't bring myself to ask for that kind of money. (more)

Vet Bills for Sick Kitty Due To Contaminated Pet Food

Update! Please don't wish for me anymore. I am new to this site, and did not realize the gravity of some of the wishes. I don't deserve it, these other people do. I will find a way.
However, I'd appreciate it if you just read our story, if I can save one pet of someone that's read this, then that is payment enough! Please, please, check all of your pet food, pet chews, treats, and anything else and throw anything away that has wheat gluten in it.

I recently lost my beautiful cat, Slim, due to acute renal failure caused by the contaminated pet food issued by Menu Foods. He was 5 years old, and healthy as a horse until he ate that food. The day after I had to put him down, the results came back about my other Ragdoll, Pixie. She, too, was in renal failure. However, her levels were much lower than Slim's (she has youth on her side, she's only 10 months old), and because I couldn't bear to see my 4 year old lose another pet, once the vet gave me a little hope, we decided to hospitalize her and put her on IV therapy. She is responding better than I ever could've hoped, but of course, at a huge cost. Once her next appointment passes, I will be at $1802. We're on one income with 2 toddlers at home, and I don't know how I'm going to pay the credit card. I am a proud person, I don't like asking for anything for myself, but please, if you can, vote for me.

I know that the illusion the media is putting out there is that the pet owners all going to be paid for our vet bills. That same media is also reporting there have only been 16 confirmed deaths. It's so untrue. The reality is that IF we're paid, it's likely to take years, and nobody has even started to tell us owners exactly what they're expecting as proof (I have receipts, the tainted food, 1 deceased pet due to renal failure, and one sick pet with renal failure). Unfortunately for us, the vets treating Pixie won't let us wait until we win, if we win, to get paid. If I were to win my wish, then when and if I'm ever paid for my expenses, I will donate what I was granted back to the RobinHood fund. Thank you so much!!! (more)

My almost 37 year old husband has been having some issues in the bedroom due to having high blood pressure and a very stressful work environment. As you know in the US, medical insurance pretty much sucks. We pay out almost $400 a month for medical coverage only to be told most of the medications that could help my husband are not covered by our medical insurance. Cialis, has helped us gain back the very vibrant sex life we had, but it is very costly. Each 5 pill prescription costs us $104.00. Using 1/2 a pill at a time, 1 prescription only covers 2-3 weeks worth of practice for our baby making!!!

The family I help is in great need of heavy sweaters, warm nightgowns/pajamas and blanket/quilts. Maybe yarn. They live in a small, VERY old apartment that has a lot of drafts in addition to a landlord that believes in having very little heat. Once, I even saw my own breath inside their place. Cindy and I have both called city hall to report that the owner keeps the heat too low, only to be ignored each and every time. When city hall comes out, heat is on, they leave, heat is off. Please, help.
The mother is Cindy Cross and her girls are Jeanna(15) and Veronica(13). The girls were mentally, emotionally, sexually abused by their birth father and Cindy was also abused by him. Cindy finally left him to go live with her mother, who was also unfortunately abusive to both her and the girls. They found a couch in the trash they all fell in love with, which Cindy's mother then took a box cutter and completely ruined it. Plus, she stole over $1000 from them, claiming the owner of the building she was custodian at wanted rent, later it was found out, he never requested rent and never received any. Cindy was abused by her as a child, but had no where else to go for the sake of her girls.
Jeanna went to her teacher in the past saying what was happening at home, to be told she had an overactive imagination. A year later, she went to a guidance counselor saying what was happening, so all four were sent to a family therapist. The therapist said the abuse started because of her not wearing a robe inside the house. She was tantalizing him into it. And Cindy was putting too much stress on him by not working, he would not allow her to work and she is unable to work.
Cindy suffers from asthma, COPD and severe depression. She is now on SSI, which hardly gives even enough to survive month to month. Veronica receives medical help, since as a result of what happened she now suffers from Anorexia Nervosa, she is 75 pounds at 5'2". Jeanna takes care of both Cindy and Veronica. She is an extremely quiet girl that tries not to let anyone know she is there, but still is a straight A student.
They have lost hope in a kind society and since I have been through very similar, I do all I can to help them and prove kindness exists (more)
