Bio:
My greatest wish is to follow through on my commitment to the young people I assist. In order to do this I am in dire need of (at least) one person with whom I may brainstorm. Few resources exist in my rural area, so finding a person to toss some ideas with is difficult. I am in need of someone who is business savvy and community service oriented. Despite hour upon hour of searching, I can find no other groups with similar projects.
Despite my family altering their entire lifestyle, our personal resources are simply not enough. We have given up everything humanely possible and severely altered even our diets, to help meet this need...if you only knew. There are folks willing to help but I must get over this one hump. I am not asking for your money (although I won't turn down help with food/resources for the young people). For us, money is simply a tool...sustainable resources will have a lasting impact. What I need is your talent. I do what I do best and you have a talent my "kids" are sorely in need of. Most are college bound or in college.
The youth have zero outside support, assistance, or resources. At times I feel I am the only person on the planet who believes in them and has faith in them....please prove me wrong.
CHRISTMAS WISH:
Used Decorations of any type. The youth are culturally sensitive, aware, and appreciative. Anything that may be used as small simple gifts or even as a group type gift. For instance; toiletries, canned/boxed easy to prepare foods (for school), any type of outdoor equipment, board games, hobby/crafting supplies, towels, blankets, school supplies, dress clothes (for interviews/appointments), magazines/publications (science, current events, etc), movies, music,
We are in dire need of concrete to fill a 24'x24' area by 4 to 6". Also; Wood (to build bunks/dressers, mattresses, pillows, etc
I thank you so much for your kindness. I visit the site as often as possible but my days are filled...our internet is very slow...takes minutes to load one page so I'm generally multitasking at the time. I have a great deal of work to do and apologize that I am not here as often as could be helpful to others.

Creating and finding resources for rural youth.
5-10 loads of laundry per day, creating meals to feed 15 to 50 or more people, construction projects,
gee...i do a lot but it is diverse and varied...it boils down to this; Identify needs -->figure how to meet needs---> find resources or create them
I need to figure out how to feed and provide for 15+ mouths daily and another 30 or 40 a couple times a week. There are ways to do it but a few resources are needed to get started. I need to figure out how to create the resources from zero input or just physical energy. Also putting together a Business Attire Clothes Closet, assist with Recreation/socialization, would like to create a Scholarship fund, finding folks to send kids to college, tutoring, transitional housing, career exploration, hobbies/interests/passions, so much more |
| Interests: | I have many interests. Always have a book open learning about something new. Growing up in the desert, I'm unfamiliar with plants of the Midwest. I'm currently learning to identify local plants and birds. I'm also learning about rocks since we grow them so well. I'm interested in astronomy. |
| Favourite Music: | I rarely have opportunity to listen to music. My fave time used to be while gardening but I no longer have a way to play a radio. I love all sorts of music from classic rock, folk, Celtic, classical, etc i enjoy music that inspires or causes one to pause and think a moment.
I enjoy the concerts our local students provide. I also enjoy listening to music the young people create. |
| Favourite Tv Shows: | PBS
We do not have cable, etc. Just the few stations we manage get in our rural area. |
| Favourite Movies: | I am rarely (maybe once in a year) able to go to a theater or rent a video. |
| Quotes: | There is always a way...you just have to find it. It may take brainstorming, searching, prayer, or a miracle...but there is a way.
Faith really does move mountains! |
| Like To Meet: | Anyone willing to help me figure out how to better assist rural youth.
Folks with healthy recipes that can feed 20 to 100 young people |
| Heroes: | Both my parents...I thank them for teaching me that 1on 1 community service is heritable and for inspiring me.
All "My Kids"
All the folks I've met who have taught me invaluable lessons and who have inspired me.

Well, that bathroom survey was a little tricky (LOL)...There are no questions for those of us who use alternative methods instead of toilets...for instance, bags...

I figured you probably already knew that *smile*...I do understand where you are coming from and i do feel it is important... I hope you surprise him with a ring and i hope your wedding is wonderful. Be gentle and kind with each other and you'll be together always. Big Hugs!

Thank you so much for your comment on my wish. The advice is much appreciated. :) It's not that I feel the ring will make or break my marriage... but it will be the first gift I will ever give to my new husband. He knows I can't really afford anything great, but imagine his surprise if he finds out how hard I've tried to get him something great! I just want him to see how much I love him (well... I hope he already knows, but you know what I mean).
Anyhow, thank you again. :)
