Hello,
My name is Royce! ( I always spell it like that;-)
I've been an eco artist for as long as I can remember. Evan as a child I made little dioramas out of empty containers. They were nice enough for my mother to sell at tag sales and flea markets.
I spent a good portion of my life volunteering and sharing my creative talent with Head Start, Boy Scouts of America, the YMCA and numerous other organizations through out the state. I've even had my own art show on cable access TV.
As a professional artist I have had several city contracts, mostly in the Boston area. My favorite's were the Mayor's Youth Art Corps through the Office of Cultural Affairs and being a freelance art teacher with the Boston Public Schools.
I still consider the two shows I had at the Museum of Fine Arts my "big TaaaaaaaDaaaaaaa!!!"
I was the artist who created over 250 golden pharaoh masks for the MFA's 100th anniversary of their Egyptian Exhibit. They were given out to patrons to decorate and wear while learning about this ancient civilization.
I also did the costuming and stage design for "The Man Who Loved To Laugh" All from materials people would normally throw away. Photos can be seen here;

I am currently trying to get 501c3 nonprofit status for my project Earth Smart Arts. Earth SmArts for short. I would like to one day open several Creative Recycling Centers across the US. "Learn How To Turn Trash Into Treasure" is more than my tag line it is an actual truth. There have been some incredibly beautiful art created out of junk most people would rather throw away. We really do need to take better care of our planet and creative recycling is such a multi faceted way of doing that.
Right now I would just like to be able to get the necessary funds to keep going into classrooms and community centers to teach creative recycling and of course the funds I'll need to pay any fees associated with getting the 501c3 paper work filled and filed.
I will be more than happy to keep my supporters fully informed on my progress. Including giving out my phone number and 501c3 filing number.
I am going a bit slow lately and really do need a little push. I think moral support is more needed than financial support at the present moment. I am dealing with a lot of family issues and need to get back on track with this project. I'd love to have a "Business Buddy" to email me every other day or so to help me keep at it and bounce ideas off of.
I have started a website, www.ecoart.us . It's a work in progress. I'm learning as I go and it is quite a task. I also have a group at www.care2.com called Earth SmArts http://www.care2.com/c2c/group/ecoarts . I have also set up a paypal account for anyone who would like to donate. It's simple and easy to remember; donate@ecoart.us . I am also working on a donate a dollar campaign for the Earth Smart Art project but I have so much to do and I'm pretty much doing every thing all by myself so I have to get myself organized. As you can see by my ramblings, I really am in more of a need for a Business Buddy or two or three at this stage of the game, it would be nice to get a sponsor for monitary support as soon as possible as well. Earth Smart Arts is a great project that encompasses the arts, education and environmental awareness. I have the necessary skills as an artist but could use some assistance with the paper work and such. If you would like to join me with this project in any capacity, including becoming an eco artist yourself, I will be happy to share with you.
