Bio:

My name is Mike and I'm sharing my account with my fiance, Lorie. We live in the beautiful mountains of northeast PA with our three kitties. Lorie and I have been together for 5 years now and we're getting married October 11th here in the state park. I have a 9-year old daughter who lives with her mother in New Jersey, and I'm supposed to see my little girl every other weekend but I often go months without seeing her. This visitation schedule is not always adhered to (long story) and is one of the main reasons I created the GON account. I first came here looking for assistance with getting a lawyer but I got nothing but negative comments and feedback so I stopped that wish after the first week. Now Lorie and I are trying to keep things more simple, more basic. Many people have written to me about getting help with my situation, so I want to share with you all where things are as of right now. The legal term for what I'm experiencing with my daughter and ex-wife is Parental Alienation. I'd love to be able to take my ex to court and sue for custody - and I'd probably win because of the piles of evidence I have against her. However, I've yet to find a lawyer that's willing to work pro bono; and I'm not able to pay a lawyer right now. I've been to court several times to request the smallest changes in visitation but I always get steamrolled because I have to appear without an attorney. (It's a fairly common known fact that courts in New Jersey are not exactly dad-friendly.) For now, I'm just trying to focus on making the little time I do have with my daughter the best time it can be. Because money is so tight, we have to keep things pretty basic. When the whether is nice and we have gas money, we go to the state park near us and have picnics, pick flowers, feed the ducks, play on the playground, etc. We also have a great childrens library near us that often have programs on the weekends - especially in the summer - that are free and tons of fun. When gas money is nonexistent we play outside together when when it's nice, and go for walks (my daughter is a real nature freak). When the weather is crappy we stay inside and play board games, computer games, watch movies together or draw. She's very artistic and loves to draw and color her own pictures. She says she wants to be a "cartooner" like me. (I do freelance illustrations and cartoons in my spare time.) We also cook together a lot. There's never a lack of things for us to do together and she seems to enjoy most all of it. (For anyone that's interested, I added a couple pics to our media gallery.) As for me and Lorie... well, money is just flat out tight. I just got re-hired at Staples, which I'm not thrilled about ~ but it's a job. I'm also a freelance artist and cartoonist, and very into music. Lorie is a freelance graphic designer/artist, photographer and writer. She has several health problems, including bipolar disorder (type 2), migraines and scoliosis, so she has a really hard time working outside the home. Even when we can afford to get all the meds she needs, it's still hard for her because she's constantly in pain. Her freelance work is sporadic, as she's been doing it for just under a year. She has 15 years of experience though, so if you know anyone that needs help with anything, send them our way! You can view her resume and work samples at this website: http://web.mac.com/crockpotproductions/iWeb That's about it! Probably more than you ever wanted to know! But if you have questions about anything, feel free to message us and ask - we're both very open people. Oh - and you can check out some of my artwork that's available on t-shirts and as cards, posters and prints at Red Bubble www.redbubble.com/people/crockpot Greeting Card Universe www.greetingcarduniverse.com/crockpot and Zazzle www.zazzle.com/crockpot* Thanks for reading our little book. ;)
