Bio:
Hi y'all :)
A bit about me? I've lived or worked in about five different states, lived in Germany, and worked off & on in Canada. I was married to my first husband then, had a sweet little six year old boy, and like many folks working my butt off :). Then one night while coming home from work my life got turned upside down. It was May 19th, 1999 around 3 a.m. when a farmers horses wandered onto the dark highway I drove every night. I didn't see them until I hit both. I honestly thought I was as good as dead. The wreck snapped my neck and I sat alone in the dark for around an hour until God sent the family that found me. My now ex split, my job was gone, most my "friends" left, and it was, believe it or not, a blessing. It really woke me up to exactly how little real value my life had up until then! Yes, I tried to do what I thought was right like everyone else. I realized though I wasn't doing jack to help, truly help, anybody. Least of all, myself. I was just throwing money at problems, not dealing with them. For the first time in a long time I had to set back and take a good, hard look at myself. I had to quit being and start doing. I took a tax course and filed for folks I knew couldn't afford a paid tax service. I joined the local adult literacy program to help folk learn to read and study for their G.E.D test. I did free short term babysitting for folks who either couldn't afford or were in between sitters. I set up a disability support group for my town but due to lack of interest, it went under. I went shopping for folks living in the local nursing home. I did free computer work. I pulled my now 14 year old out of school and started home schooling. When my and my new hubby's friends noticed my son's improvement, I tutored other ADHD and learning disabled children. For the first time in ages, I felt alive! I could set back at the end of the day and feel proud at what with God's help I did for others. I had to nearly die to come back to life. Weird, huh :). I might be a wheelchair user now (c4-5 complete quadriplegic), but everyday now I hit the ground running :)
