Retired U.S. Navy, Trying to Figure Out Un-Patrioitic People and how things happen for a reason. I have travelled a lot due to the military and being a long haul truck driver in the past. I am now kind of settled and working at a refinery while I complete college. I like helping other people, sometimes to a fault. Most people that meet me either like me or hate me-there is no in between. I have been told that I am an excellent cook and often prepare meals for people. My specialty is smoked brisket with a barbeque sauce made from a receipe my granddad used in his restaurant. Many people forget that everyone puts their pants on the same way no matter if that person is the President of the United States or someone that has recently lost their job; it is always one leg at a time. Wealth should not be ameasure of the amount of money you have, for you can't take it with you when you go, and money is the most fought over item there is. Too many relationships between individuals are referred to as friendships, but to find a true friend you have to be willing to sacrifice for that person. How many people are there that you would drop everything that you are doing to help them, even if you received a call in the middle of the night and they lived 1,ooo miles away? I can count three true friends that I would do that for, but many others that I have done it for that have turned out not to be true friends. Sadly it seems that the more you help people, the more that you are taken advantage of because of your generosity.
