I am a single mom who is currently working full time from my home. We have had financial difficulties due to the change in job procedures from my largest client. We had to move from a large 4-bdrm home to a small 2 bdrm apt. My first wish is to get a larger home again, but, I doubt I will get that wish granted here.

I am wishing to be able to provide my children with a weekend away this year. Not far from home, but a place we can just get away from everything for a few days. They really deserve it! They are 15g, 12b, 9g. I am so proud of them. They are real troopers who have faced a lot of challenges in this life.

Please help me give these wonderful kids a few days to kick back and not worry about the stresses of life. :-)

Gifted daughter needs a Mac to further her artistic skills

My daughter of 15 is highly talented in making movies, picture things and so on. She really, really needs a Mac to take her talent further and give her the opportunity to succeed in this area. (There are only so many programs on a Windows PC to help her)

As a single mom of 5 (two are grown and moved out) it has been difficult to provide any type of "extras" for my kids.

My daughter is a very "good girl" and deserves a Mac that I am unable to provide her. She is working babysitting this summer and saving up for a new Mac. The one she wants is $999.99. I would love to help her with this. She is so determined to have one and it would be so great if I could match the amount of money she saves.

Greatly needed High-tech headphones for transcription work!

I am a transcriptionist. I am also a single mom of five wonderful children. Three children are still living at home with me.

From previous wishes you may remember that I work from home. I type auto accident statements. I use headphones so I can hear better and also so the kids don't always have to be quiet while I work.

This last month I have had to hold the left wire in my mouth as I type. (There seems to be a short on the wires on that side and the voices crackle in and out making it extremely difficult to hear what is being said.)

I thought I'd put up a wish for a really great pair of Bose headphones. The ones I want, however, are $359!!! I can't see spending that on headphones even if it is for my business. So, the next best pair that I found is listed below. They don't have the "noise-reduction" on it but they would probably be fine for what I do.

I always buy the cheap $20 ones but they just don't seem to last very long.

The bags were all packed,

A weekend free from the stresses of life for my kids.

This is the 5th time running this wish. I must admit, I am not a quitter, but I am getting very discouraged here. :-)

I've had this wish in the NAUGHTY category for 4 weeks. I almost tried it in the nice category but, although it's nice that I am wishing this for my children, I just can't justify it as a need so . . . I'm keeping it in the naughty list this week also.

I work from home transcribing auto accident statements. During the summer my children, ages 15, 12, and 9, stay home. No daycare because I really could not afford it, no camps, no summer school, just staying at home and hanging around our little 700 sq ft apartment. We have no family, aunts, uncles, or grandparents close enough to visit either.

I am wishing for one weekend, just a weekend, where my kids will be able to go and fish, walk the trails, build bonfires on the beach etc. Just one little weekened out of 2 1/2 months of summer time for THEM to get a break.

In the last 2 years I lost 2/3 of my income and was forced to move from a 4-bdr home to a small 2-bdr apt. It is very cramped here but we are not homeless. :-) Things are tight but I am working hard to make life better for all of us. I am barely able to make ends meet so paying for anything extra is pretty much out of the question. I also have health issues that slow me down. I have no insurance at this point but hope to see a doctor soon.

Remember when you go back to school and the teacher wants you to write about what you did over the summer?

A swimsuit for my little fish.

I have a little fish. Well, actually, it's my youngest daughter. She's a sweetie. She struggles in school all year with learning dissibilities but she still loves to go.

There's not a lot to do during summer for my children here. My youngest one has a friend who has a swimming pool. She hopes to spend a lot of time with her friend over the summer, and at this point her friend's family seems like a safe one to be with.

I am wishing for a swimsuit for my youngest daughter. She doesn't have one that fits anymore and she really, really wants one. :-)

I don't know what swimsuits cost but I know I can't afford one for sure this year. We're already adjusting winter clothes for summer, like cut-offs and so on. (more)

I've been buying his shoes all his life from Volume shoe source. The shoes, of course, are inexpensive but they sure don't last that long. He always wears them out before he grows out of them!

He is in desperate need of new shoes right now. The ones he is currently wearing are from last september when school started. His sister's feet grew faster than his so she got shoes during the school year.

J.C. Penney's has the above shoes on sale for $37.00 right now. Originally they are $48.00. I'd love to get him some shoes that he can outgrow before he wears them out! LOL

A Late B-day Prezzie for my 22yr old son

I am so proud of my oldest son!

He turned 22 on July 1st.

He has a job that pays more than mine...which I suppose is pretty easy to have. (I don't have two nickels to rub together! LOL) He pays his bills on time, bought his own car, got a place to rent and is able to pay for it every month. He doesn't seem to be struggling financially at all. THAT'S GREAT!

He's such a good boy and very determined to succeed.

All his life he told me, "I can't . . . " I always encouraged him and told him he could do anything he wanted. At one point I told him the words, 'I can't' were swear words and he wasn't allowed to say them! LOL It's so important to encourage our kids! They can succeed!!!

My oldest daughter of 23 moved 1200 miles away (to auntie's) this last December to escape the clutches of an abusive b/f. Upon visiting his sister a few weeks ago, he returned with the news that he plans on moving there in January. If this all comes to pass as they plan it, they will be sharing a place too far for me to visit! I already miss my daughter SSOOOOO much!

Anyway, I was not able to buy my son ANYTHING for his 22nd birthday. I would so love to buy a present for him and throw a big Bar-B-Que in his honor. (While we still have the weather to do it.) :-)

I wish so much to be able to show him how proud I am of him and his success. He had such a hard life growing up. He received his high school diploma 2 years late by going to college to get it. What more can I say, I am so very proud of him, being faced with crap all his life he learned how to stand on his own two feet and survived. :-)

She deserves a break! I am amazed at what she has done with the school supplies and the families she has helped.

I am unable to help her at this time in my life, but, I'm hoping this community will see things like I see them.

I miss my daughter sooo much!

My oldest daughter (23) left an abusive relationship. Her life was in danger.
He threatened to "bash her head in".

He told her even if she were able to hit the alarm that it would take the police 10 minutes to get there so there's at least 9 minutes she'd lay there bleeding by herself.

So, December 25th, 2006 she loaded up and drove 1200 miles away to stay with my sister in a safe home. (During the few days beforehand we put her household items in storage. It was a rough Christmas for us.) She has decided to stay where she is and is working two jobs and trying to find a place of her own. She needs to be out by the end of this December since my sister's son, wife, and baby are moving up here from Australia to stay with them 'til they get a place to live and on their feet.

Somebody is going to have to drive my daughter's stuff the 1200 miles to her new home at the end of this year. I am hoping so much that my oldest son (22) and I will be able to do that for her. I don't want her coming back to this state as it may not be safe for her.

Please, could you find it in your hearts to help me get my daughter's entire stuff out of storage to take to her by the end of this year? I don't know the exact cost of the move, but I do know that $100 won't even cover the cost of driving a U-Haul that far.

And . . . I really miss her so much! She's still my "baby" and it's killing me that she had to go so far away to feel that safe feeling again. But, I am so grateful that my sister was in a position to take her in too!
