SarahK's Wishes
Past Wishes
My college education to be paid off.
I currently go to The George Washington University in Washington D.C. and studying Japanese and International Affairs. The university is over-the-top expensive (almost $50,000 a year) and I am dreadfully afraid that I am pushing my family into financial ruin because of my naive decision to come to GW. I am currently unemployed in DC and I want to help my family and show them, and my little brother who now has nothing for college because of me, that I love them and ill pay them back and I will always love and support them. |
Some money for rent!
I move into my first apartment with my boyfriend in the middle of this month. We're just staying there for the summer to be interns and then we're going home at the end of the summer before we have to go back to school. I just received an internship, however I have been unemployed for awhile (was babysitting, but it was a bad situation, had to get out ASAP). I figured I would be starting my internship immediately, but my boss told me I need to go through a background check and I won't be able to work for at least 25 days. 25 days without pay in Washington DC?! I'm in the process of applying to fast food chains, grocery stores, etc. to have something for evenings and weekends, but I still need to help my boyfriend with rent. My share is $500 a month. To give you an idea of how crazy desperate I am, I dive into fountains and collect money and I think if I saw a penny in dog poop, I might pick that up... |
A New Figure Skating Pass!
This is a definitely naughty wish. I took up figure skating this past December because I was frustrated when I went skating on a date with my boyfriend that I couldn't ice skate. I was really klutzy out there. I've been roller skating before and rock those older, four wheeled skates (:-D) but I've never rollerbladed before and I was a Disaster on Ice. |
Money for rent, 2nd try
I'm going to try this again and post it under "naughty," because there is no way I can justify posting this under "nice" er "nice" with so many dire wishes under nice. Although for me, this is dire. I would like to be able to pay my first month in rent that I am a bit behind on. I have two jobs. One is full time (40 hours a week, as an intern) and the other is 15-20 hours a week at a local grocery store...and I'm trying to get more hours from my supervisor. I will be going to Japan in the fall on scholarship to study abroad and I would like to have some money to buy food for myself and bring some souvenirs back for my family. Last time I asked for the full amount, $500, so I will try for a bit less this time. I am working as much as I can and trying to save every last penny. Washington DC, like any city is expensive to live in, and I know Japan is a very expensive country. Thank you for taking the time to look at my wish. Good luck to everyone with theirs, whether naughty or nice. :-) |
Lots of toys and princess clothes for Macy for her trip!!
This is not a wish for me. I wish this for Macy, who will be going to Disneyland with her friend soon! :-) I'm sure most of you, if not all, have read Macy's story and can agree with me that the princess should be entitled to getting lots of souvenirs and princess clothing when she goes to Disneyland! Should this wish win, I will have RHF forward the check to Macy's family. |
Some Nice Clothes for my Three Jobs
I am in dire need of some new clothes for my internship and my new waitressing position. I need some professional-looking clothes at the internship, a pair of gym shoes for the grocery store and waitressing positions, and some money to pay for my waitress outfit. I have found two stores that sell all of these things for reasonable prices. The only professional clothes I have are all long-sleeve shirts and hot, wool pants...and DC gets VERY hot and humid and muggy in the summer! Please help me and vote so I don't pass out on my way to the Metro station during my commute! Thank you everyone! |
A New Figure Skating Pass, 2nd Try
I have finally settled down into my jobs and only have to work two now, as my pay at one job was increased. Since I am only working two jobs, I have some time to take private figure skating lessons, group lessons, and/or continue teaching myself at the rink. I would like to do one of these, and the cheapest option is to teach myself. A 10-skate pass (good for ten public sessions) is available at Kettler Capitals Iceplex for $63. Without the pass, each session is |
