my son and daughter to have a very happy birthday this year!

I am a single mom in NYC. The state awarded me a whooping $50 a month for my 2 children to share and meanwhile I have to pay $1350 in rent, my utilities, and pay to wash clothes at the laundrymat. I am already behind on my first two student loan payments. Sometimes it's all I can do to buy things like toilet paper and detergent. My son and daughter will be celebrating their 5th and 7th birthday within a week of one another in March. I can purchase them a cake with my food stamps, but I've always taken them to either the circus or to Sesame Street LIVE. This will be the first year I cannot do so. I want to be able to give them a very happy birthday. I found some very nice outfits for them at Target.com which add up to $52.13 with free shipping. The circus costs $45 for three tickets. The souvenirs (one for each of them) cost about $18 apiece. The rest I'd spend to take them to Applebee's because for some reason my son wants me to take them there. Please vote for my wish and make sure Alexander and Olivia will have a very Happy Birthday this year.

I am a single mom in NYC and I babysit 3 kids part-time. I do get my bills paid, but I never have enough for extras for the kids. I had to get help for Christmas otherwise they wouldn't have had one. Ever since my son turned one, we've gone to the Circus for the birthday $100 would help me keep my tradition alive for them. $30 for 2 tickets (someone on WUAH sent me a voucher for a ticket), $45 for one souvenir for each of them and $10 for our Metrocard to take the subway downtown to Madison Square Garden. Please vote for my wish and help me give my kids a very happy birthday! Thank you all. Bless you.

If anyone wants to help me out with their circus, my paypal link is lillisseylu@yahoo.com. Thanks in advance. Bless you all.

I'm getting a little discouraged. I don't think I'll be able to grant my kids birthday wish. I had a kind lady on WUAH send me a voucher for one free ticket, but I still need to come up with $30 for our other 2 tickets. My son will be 7 on March 20th and my daughter will be 5 on March 14th. They already know their daddy took their half sister to see Sesame Street LIVE and feel left out. It has been our birthday tradition since my son's 1st birthday to take them to see the Circus when it's in town at Madison Square Garden. I need $30 for the 2 tickets. The cheapest souvenirs run at $22 apiece. Plus I need the $10 Metrocard to take the subway downtown. The rest would be to take them to eat after the show. Could y'all please take my son and daughter into consideration and help me give them a Happy Birthday?

I wish that people who don't like my wish would just move on to one they feel more deserving rather than say what they don't like about my wish. I don't actually like the circus, but my kids do and I try my BEST to make them happy. All too soon they will grow up and not want to go out to places like the Zoo or Circus with mom. I want them to have good memories and no one in their father's family gives them any. They weren't invited to their uncle's wedding. They weren't invited to welcome their other uncle back home from jail. Their dad didn't take them to see the show he took their half sister to see. They might not know about finances, but they sure do know that they are treated differently than everyone else in their father's family. I don't see how my wish is greedy, if every mother NEEDS to see her kids happy.

I know I could make my daughter share and just use her brother's extra set as he has a set of Cars and Sesame Street sheets and comforters, but it is her first big girl bed and both she and I would like her to have her own set of Dora sheets and comforter. My ex's best friend is being a doll and buying them bunk beds for their bedroom as a birthday gift next month as they've either been co sleeping with me or sleeping on my son's mattress on the floor of their room. Long story short we had gotten infested with bed bugs last summer and while I had managed to purchase special covers for the mattresses, I had to throw out the bed frame because they got into the crevasses and I couldn't quite reach them all. Ugh. My skin is crawling just thinking about it. Anyway, I figure if she has her own set, then the Sesame Street one can be used to replace whichever set gets dirty first, hers or his Cars one.

I help grant wishes when possible and when I do make wishes it's always something for my kids. For once I want to make a wish just for me. The Toys R Us in Times Square sells candy by the pound and it's the only place I know that sells mini gummy bears. Somehow those itsy bitsy gummy bears carry 10x more flavor than the regular sized ones and they have some extra flavors as well. I LOVE LOVE LOVE those gummy bears. I haven't been able to buy myself some in months. Can y'all help me get my sweet sweet mouth watering good mini gummies?

I cannot comment on any wishes :(
I just wanted to thank everyone for their votes.

It's been a rough year with having to move back home with mom and needing to give up a large roomy apartment of my own to sharing an itty bitty bedroom with my 2 kids and all our stuff. I have no job, but I am DEFINITELY looking. I have no money, not for lack of trying, and I'd just like to have a nice birthday with my kids. Maybe buy some $5 pizza pies and some bread sticks at Little Ceasars and take us to a matinee for just a nice day. My birthday wish is just for me to have a happy birthday, but to be able to enjoy a day with the kids. I take them to the park and the beach, but it's not them same as an indoor treat. You know? Thanks for the votes in advance and I hope you all have a spectacular week full of love, happiness and good health.

A Superhero to Save the Day!

A Superhero to Save the Day!

I already have one superhero in the family. My daughter has a Pink Power Ranger costume she's going to wear or Halloween this year, but my 7 year old son doesn't have a costume and making $75 p/wk at my part-time job isn't going to allow me to get him one between paying my phone bill, my credit card, my brother for babysitting and mom $135 for rent. He wants to either be Spiderman or Batman so bad and I don't want to lie to him so I tell him that he might not be able to be either because I most likely won't have the money to buy it. I wish for him to be the Superhero he wants to be since in a way I think of both my kids as my heroes. I feel like they saved my life, you know? They gave me a sense of purpose and made me want to be better both for myself and for them. He wears a size 14-16 or small in Men.

My son and daughter will be celebrating their birthdays next month. I had my hours cut at work and I am only bringing in $50 a week. Once I pay my mom "rent" and buy transportation for the week, I stay with nothing to save for their birthdays. He will be 8 and she will be 6 and I would love for their dad and I to be able to surprise them by taking them to Chuck E Cheese. We have the coupon clipped where for $29.99+ tax we get the pizza pie, 4 refillable soft drinks and 100 tokens. Plus a $7 metrocard which provides us with 4 rides. $40 is all I need to make their birthday a happy one.

My family and I just got out a shelter. We're in an apartment. We relocated halfway across the state, but we're getting settled in. Both my kids dad and I are now employed part-time. We make enough to cover the bills, but we've been buying our furniture piece by piece at the Salvation Army since we rarely have leftover money. I got myself a beautiful desk for $5.99, daddy got himself a chair for $3.00, and we got a TV stand for $1.50 and a dining room table (no chairs) for $9.99. We still need to purchase chairs for our dining room table. We still need to buy the kids another set of mattresses, plus the actual bed frames. Right now they are sharing a bed and their mattresses are on the floor. Please vote my wish up so we can finish making this apartment into our home. Thank you.

This is definitely a greedy wish because FINALLY they are both tall enough to get on most of the rides!! YAY! I have never been able to take my kids to a theme park and this year they are attending day camp at their local school. The day camp is free, but the trips are not and they really really want to go to the Great Escape. The tickets are $21 apiece and they really really deserve it. They both passes their school year with flying colors and they both made the honor roll, Olivia 3 times in the school year and AJ twice. Olivia made it to every single "Caught Being Good" party at school and AJ made it several times as well. I'd love to treat them to this trip. We'd need $84 for all 4 of us to go. Please vote for them so I can surprise them this summer. Thanks so much for reading my wish.

If you want to help, you can also donate to lillisseylu@yahoo.com for paypal. Thanks again.

for Peter to have a happy Father's Day

My name is Lis and I am busy starting a new job and catching up on all the necessary bills. I have nothing left over at all to spare on a Father's day gift for Peter who has been doing an excellent job as a stay at home dad (at my request). Our oldest, our little boy AJ, is diagnosed as severe ADHD and PDD-NOS placing him on the high end of the autism spectrum. He's being tested for his allergies. He has an asthma inhaler and a nutritionist. Needless to say between IEP meetings and doctors appointments one of us needs to be available for both of the kids. He's also about to start school.

I'm here asking for a Father's Day surprise for him and the help to get it. $35 would cover a cheap grill, a bag of charcoal and some lighter fluid so that he can use the apron I got him and do his favorite summer activity, grill burgers. :)

If that is too much to ask, I'll be happy with some Father's day cards for him in the mail with maybe a gift card or two for him to simple places like Burger King, Cici's Pizza, Wendy's or Subways. Also, he could use a pair of new swimming trunks in size XL and a pair of cheap Walmart basketball shorts same size.

Thank you all for reading my wish. Have a nice weekend. God bless you.
